⁶ 'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you shall come forth a Ruler who will shepherd My people Israel.' "

¹⁰ A ruler shall not fail from Judah, nor a prince from his loins, until there come the things stored up for him; and He is the expectation of nations.

¹⁹ And One shall arise out of Jacob, and destroy out of the city him that escapes.

² And before, when Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel out and brought them in; and the Lord said to you, You shall feed My people Israel, and you shall be for a leader to My people Israel.

¹ Why did the heathen rage, and the nations imagine vain things? ² The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers gathered themselves together, against the Lord, and against His Christ; ³ saying, Let us break through Their bonds, and cast away Their yoke from us. ⁴ He that dwells in the heavens shall laugh them to scorn, and the Lord shall mock them. ⁵ Then shall He speak to them in His anger, and trouble them in His fury. ⁶ But I have been made King by Him on Zion His holy mountain,

⁷¹ He took him from following the ewes great with young, to be the shepherd of Jacob His servant, and Israel His inheritance. ⁷² So he tended them in the innocence of his heart; and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.

⁶ For a Child is born to us, and a Son is given to us, whose government is upon His shoulder; and His name is called the Messenger of great counsel; for I will bring peace upon the princes, and health to Him. ⁷ His government shall be great, and of His peace there is no end; it shall be upon the throne of David, and upon His kingdom, to establish it, and to support it with judgment and with righteousness, from this time forward and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts shall perform this.

¹¹ He shall tend His flock as a shepherd, and He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and He shall soothe them that are with young.

⁴ And I will raise up shepherds to them, who shall feed them, and they shall fear no more, nor be alarmed, says the Lord. ⁵ Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will raise up to David a righteous branch, and a king shall reign and understand, and shall execute judgment and righteousness on the earth. ⁶ In his days both Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell securely. And this is his name, which the Lord shall call Him, Josedek among the prophets.

²³ And I will raise up one shepherd over them, and he shall tend them, even My servant David, and he shall be their shepherd; ²⁴ and I the Lord will be to them a God, and David a prince in the midst of them; I the Lord have spoken it. ²⁵ And I will make with David a covenant of peace, and I will utterly destroy evil beasts from off the land; and they shall dwell in the wilderness, and sleep in the forests.

²⁴ And My servant David shall be a prince in the midst of them. There shall be one shepherd of them all; for they shall walk in My ordinances, and keep My judgments, and do them. ²⁵ And they shall dwell in their land, which I have given to My servant Jacob, where their fathers dwelt; and they shall dwell upon it; and David My servant shall be their prince forever. ²⁶ And I will make with them a covenant of peace; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; and I will establish My sanctuary in the midst of them forever.

² And you, Bethlehem, house of Ephratha, are few in number to be reckoned among the thousands of Judah; yet out of you shall one come forth to Me, to be a ruler of Israel; and His goings forth were from the beginning, even from eternity.

¹ Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East arrived in Jerusalem,

¹⁸ And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.

⁴² Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the village of Bethlehem, where David was?"

¹⁶ He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I care for You." He said to him, "Shepherd My sheep."

²² And He subjected all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,

¹⁸ And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that in all things He may have the preeminence,

²⁷ 'And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; they shall be smashed to pieces like clay vessels'--

¹⁵ Then the seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were great voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!"
