¹⁷ And they clothed Him with purple; and they twisted a crown of thorns, and they put it around His head,

²⁸ And having stripped Him, they put a scarlet robe on Him. ²⁹ When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And kneeling before Him, they mocked Him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!" ³⁰ And spitting on Him, they took the reed and were striking Him on His head.

¹¹ Then Herod, with his men of war, having treated Him with contempt, and having mocked Him, arrayed Him in a gorgeous robe, and sent Him back to Pilate.

² And the soldiers twisted a crown out of thorns and put it on His head, and they put a purple robe around Him. ³ And they kept saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!" And they were striking Him with their hands. ⁴ Pilate then went out again, and said to them, "Behold, I am bringing Him out to you, so that you may know that I find no fault in Him." ⁵ Then Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, "Behold, the Man!"
