^{26 (14:25)} but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the eternal God, for obedience to the faith--

⁴ And my message and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, ⁵ in order that your faith might not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

⁶ I planted, Apollos watered, but God gives the increase. ⁷ So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. ⁸ Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. ⁹ For we are coworkers with God; you are God's field, you are God's building.

⁹ and to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, ¹⁰ to another the working of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another discerning of spirits, and to another different kinds of tongues, and to another interpretation of tongues.

²⁸ And those whom God has appointed in the church are: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, kinds of tongues.

³⁰ Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?

¹ Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become as sounding brass or a clashing cymbal.

² For he who speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not to men, but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

⁴ He who speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. ⁵ Now I wish you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you should prophesy; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may receive edification. ⁶ But now, brothers, if I come to you speaking in tongues, what shall I profit you unless I speak to you either in a revelation, or in knowledge, or in a prophesy, or in doctrine? ⁷ Likewise the lifeless things, when they make a sound, whether flute or harp, unless they make a distinction in the tones, how will it be known what is being played on the flute, or what is being played on the harp? ⁸ For if the trumpet gives an indistinct sound, who will prepare for battle? ⁹ So also you, if you do not give a clear word by the tongue, how will it be known what is being spoken? For you will be speaking into the air. ¹⁰ There are, perhaps, so many kinds of sounds in the world, and none of them without meaning. ¹¹ Therefore, if I do not know the meaning of the sound, I shall be as a foreigner to the one speaking, and the one speaking shall be as a foreigner to me. ¹² So also you, since you are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that you may abound to the edification of the church. ¹³ Therefore let he that speaks in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. ¹⁴ For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. ¹⁵ What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the mind. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the mind. ¹⁶ Otherwise, if you bless with the spirit, how will he who occupies the place of the uninformed say "Amen" when you give thanks, since he does not know what you are saying? ¹⁷ For you indeed give thanks well, but the other is not edified. ¹⁸ I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all; ¹⁹ but in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding, in order that I may instruct others, rather than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue. ²⁰ Brothers, do not be children in your understanding; rather, in malice be children, but in understanding be men. ²¹ In the law it is written: "With men of other tongues and by strange lips I will speak to this people; and yet not even in this way will they hear Me," says the Lord. ²² So then tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers; but prophesying is not for unbelievers but for those who believe. ²³ If then the whole church comes together at the same place, and all speak in tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned or unbelievers, will they not say that you are mad? ²⁴ But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an unlearned person comes in, he is reproved by all, he is discerned by all. ²⁵ And so the secrets of his heart become clear; and so, falling down on his face, he will worship God, reporting that God is truly among you! ²⁶ What is it then, brothers? Whenever you come together, each of you has a song, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.

³ For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, ⁴ and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, ⁵ and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.

⁵ and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. ⁶ Thereafter He appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, of whom the majority remain until now, but some have died. ⁷ Thereafter He appeared to James, then to all the apostles.

²⁴ Then will be the end, when He hands over the kingdom to God, even the Father, when He abolishes every ruler and every authority and power. ²⁵ For He must reign till He puts all His enemies under His feet.

² On the first day of the week let each one of you put something aside, storing up whatever he may prosper, in order that there be no collections when I come.

⁷ so that, on the contrary, you ought rather to forgive and comfort him, lest somehow such a person be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.

¹ And working together with Him, we also urge that you not receive the grace of God in vain.

²⁰ which He worked in Christ, having raised Him from the dead, and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenlies, ²¹ above every ruler and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the coming age. ²² And He subjected all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,

¹⁷ And having come, He preached peace to you who were far away and to those near.

⁸ Therefore He says: "When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men." ⁹ But that "He ascended"--what it is but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ He that descended, He is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things. ¹¹ And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,

⁶ which has come to you, just as also in all the world, and is bearing fruit and growing, just as also among you, from the day which you heard and fully knew the grace of God in truth;

²³ if indeed you continue in the faith, having been founded and firm and not drifting away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was proclaimed to all creation under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.

¹ If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.

⁸ in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹² so that they all might be damned who did not believe the truth, but delighted in unrighteousness.

¹⁶ And confessedly, great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, and was received up in glory.

³ who being the effulgence of His glory and the exact expression of His substance, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

⁴ God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

⁷ Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says: "Today, if you will hear His voice, ⁸ Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, in the day of trial in the wilderness,

¹⁵ while it is said: "Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion." ¹⁶ For some, having heard, did provoke: but not all who came out of Egypt through Moses. ¹⁷ And with whom was He indignant forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness? ¹⁸ And to whom did He swear that they would not enter into His rest, except to those who disobeyed? ¹⁹ And we see that they were not able to enter on account of unbelief.

¹⁴ Therefore having a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast the confession.

²⁰ where the Forerunner has entered in behalf of us, even Jesus, having become a High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

²⁶ For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, innocent, undefiled, having been separated from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens;

¹ Now this is the main point of the things being said: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

²⁴ For Christ did not enter into the holies made by hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf;

¹² But He Himself, having offered one sacrifice for sins forever, He sat down at the right hand of God, ¹³ from that time waiting till His enemies are placed as a footstool for His feet.

¹⁹ Therefore, brothers, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, ²¹ and having a High Priest over the house of God, ²² let us approach with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies having been washed with clean water.

³⁸ But the just shall live by faith, and if he withdraws, My soul has no pleasure in him." ³⁹ But we are not of those shrinking back to destruction, but of faith, to the saving of the soul.

² looking unto Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

¹⁴ Is anyone among you sick? Let him call on the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. ¹⁵ And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, it will be forgiven him.

²¹ who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

²¹ which as an antitype, baptism now also saves us-(not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, ²² who having gone into heaven, is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers being subjected to Him.

¹⁴ And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.

¹⁰ He that believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; he that does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony which God has testified concerning His Son. ¹¹ And this is the testimony: that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. ¹² He that has the Son has life; he that does not have the Son of God does not have life. ¹³ These things I write to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe in the name of the Son of God.

¹⁰ I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and I heard a loud voice like a trumpet behind me,

¹⁷ And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as if dead. But He put His right hand on me, saying, "Do not fear; I am the First and the Last. ¹⁸ I am He who lives, and became dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Death and of Hades.

¹⁹ As many as I love, I rebuke and discipline. Be zealous therefore, and repent. ²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door and I am knocking. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him and I will dine with him, and he with Me. ²¹ He that overcomes, I will grant to him to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

⁶ Then I saw an angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on the earth, and to every nation, tribe, language, and people,

¹⁵ And if anyone was not found having been written in the Book of Life, he was cast into the Lake of Fire.

⁸ But the cowardly, and unbelieving, and sinners, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and drug users, and idolaters, and all who are false shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."
