⁹ That was the true Light which lightens every man coming into the world.

²⁰ For He has given the law for a help, that they should not speak according to this word, concerning which there are no gifts to give for it.

⁶ And He said to me, It is a great thing for you to be called My servant, to establish the tribes of Jacob, and to recover the dispersion of Israel; behold, I have given you for the covenant of a race, for a light of the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation to the end of the earth.

²³ But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be dark. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

⁴ In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

⁷ This man came for a testimony, so that he might testify concerning the Light, so that all through him might believe.

³² Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly I say to you, Moses has not given you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.

¹² And there was much murmuring among the crowds concerning Him. Some on the one hand were saying, "He is a good Man"; while others were saying, "No, on the contrary, He deceives the people."

⁴⁶ I have come as a light into the world, so that whoever believes in Me may not abide in darkness.

⁶ Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

¹ "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.

⁴ But you, brothers, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. ⁵ You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. ⁶ Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. ⁷ For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those getting drunk, are drunk at night.

⁸ If we claim that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

⁸ Again, a new commandment I am writing to you, which thing is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the true light already shines.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true; and we are in Him that is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
