³² For You are not a man like me, with whom I could contend, that we might come together to judgment.

¹⁹ God is not as a man that He should waver, nor as a son of man that He should be threatened; shall He say and not perform? Shall He speak and not keep His word?

⁷ But the Lord said to Samuel, Look not on his appearance, nor on his stature, for I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.

¹⁸ Behold, I am near my judgment: I know that I shall appear evidently just. ¹⁹ For who is he that shall plead with me, that I should now be silent, and expire? ²⁰ But grant me two things: then I will not hide myself from Your face. ²¹ Withhold Your hand from me, and let not Your fear terrify me. ²² Then shall You call, and I will listen to You: or You shall speak, and I will give You an answer. ²³ How many are my sins and my transgressions? Teach me what they are.

³ Oh, that I knew where I might find Him, and come to an end of the matter! ⁴ And I would plead my own cause, and He would fill my mouth with arguments. ⁵ And I would know the remedies which He would speak to me, and I would perceive what He would tell me. ⁶ Though He should come on me in His great strength, then He would not threaten me; ⁷ for truth and reproof are from Him, and He would bring forth my judgment to an end.

¹² For how do you say, I am righteous, yet He has not listened to me? For He that is above mortals is eternal.

⁵ If you have sinned, what will you do? ⁶ And if you have also transgressed much, what can you perform? ⁷ And suppose you are righteous, what will you give Him? Or what shall He receive from your hand?

² And enter not into judgment with Your servant, for in Your sight shall no man living be justified.

¹⁰ If anything has been, its name has already been called. And it is known what man is; neither can he contend with him who is stronger than he.

⁹ What excellent thing have I prepared as clay of the potter? Will the plowman plow the earth all day? Shall the clay say to the potter, What are you doing that you do not work, nor have hands? Shall the thing formed answer Him that formed it?

¹⁹ Behold, he shall come up as a lion out of the midst of the Jordan to the place of Etham; for I will speedily drive them from it, and I will set the young men against her; for who is like Me? And who will withstand Me? And who is this shepherd, who shall confront Me?

²⁰ But indeed, O man, who are you to be answering back against God? Surely the thing formed will not say to him who formed it, "Why did you made me like this?"

²⁰ Because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and He knows all things.
