¹² But where has wisdom been discovered? And where is the place of understanding?

⁹ Give therefore to Your servant a heart to hear and to judge Your people justly, and to discern between good and evil: for who will be able to judge this Your great people?

²⁰ Where then is wisdom found? And of what kind is the place of understanding?

²⁸ And He said to man, Behold, godliness is wisdom: and to abstain from evil is understanding.

⁶ For behold, You love truth; You have manifested to me the secret and hidden things of Your wisdom.

⁴ and if you shall seek it as silver, and search diligently for it as for treasures; ⁵ then shall you understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. ⁶ For the Lord gives wisdom, and from His presence come knowledge and understanding,

¹⁹ God by wisdom founded the earth, and by understanding He prepared the heavens.

²³ All these things have I proved in wisdom. I said, I will be wise; but it was far from me. ²⁴ That which is far beyond what was, and a great depth, who shall find it out? ²⁵ I and my heart went round about to know, and to examine, and to seek wisdom, and the account of things, and to know the folly and trouble and madness of the ungodly man.

¹⁹ For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the understanding of the prudent I will annul." ²⁰ Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

³ in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

⁵ If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it shall be given to him.

¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
