⁴² Unless the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely now you would have sent me away empty-handed; but God saw my humiliation, and the labor of my hands, and rebuked you yesterday.

⁵ And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the sons of men had built.

¹¹ And the Angel of the Lord said to her, Behold you are with child, and shall bear a son, and shall call his name Ishmael, for the Lord has hearkened to your humiliation.

¹³ And she called the name of the Lord God who spoke to her, You are the God who sees; for she said, For I have openly seen Him that appeared to me.

²⁴ And God came to Laban the Syrian in sleep by night, and said to him, Take heed to yourself that you do not speak evil things to Jacob at any time.

²⁹ And now my hand has the power to hurt you; but the God of your father spoke to me yesterday, saying, Take heed to yourself that you speak no evil words to Jacob.

⁵³ The God of Abraham and the God of Nahor judge between us; and Jacob swore by the Fear of his father Isaac.

⁷ And the Lord said to Moses, I have surely seen the affliction of My people that is in Egypt, and I have heard their cry caused by their taskmasters; for I know their affliction.

¹⁷ And David went out to meet them, and said to them, If you have come peaceably to me, let my heart be at peace with you; but if you have come to betray me to my enemies unfaithfully, may the God of your fathers look upon it, and bring judgment.

⁷ I will exalt and be glad in Your mercy; for You have looked upon my affliction; You have saved my soul from distresses.

¹¹ Vow, and pay your vows to the Lord our God; all that are round about Him shall bring gifts, ¹² even to Him that is awesome, and that takes away the spirits of princes; to Him that is awesome among the kings of the earth.

¹ A Song of Degrees. If it had not been that the Lord was among us, let Israel now say; ² if it had not been that the Lord was among us, when men rose up against us; ³ verily they would have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us:

¹³ Sanctify the Lord Himself; and He shall be your fear.

⁹ Yet Michael the archangel, when taking issue with the devil, was arguing about the body of Moses, dared not to bring a railing accusation, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"
