Galatians 6:12 Cross References - CAB

¹² As many as wish to make a good showing in the flesh, these compel you to get circumcised, only so that they should not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.

² Whenever therefore you do charitable giving, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be praised by men. Assuredly I say to you, they receive their reward in full.

⁵ "And whenever you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray standing in the synagogues, and on the streetcorners, so that they may be seen by men. Assuredly I say to you, that they receive their reward in full.

¹⁶ "Moreover, when you fast, do not become gloomy, like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly I say to you, that they receive their reward in full.

⁵ But all their works they do in order to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and they enlarge the borders of their garments.

²⁸ Thus also you outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

¹⁵ And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. Because that which is exalted among men is an abomination before God.

⁴⁷ who devour widows' houses, and for a show make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation."

¹⁸ He who speaks from himself is seeking his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.

¹ And certain men coming down from Judea were teaching the brothers, "If you are not circumcised in the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved."

⁵ But some of those from the sect of the Pharisees rose up, saying, "It is necessary to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses."

¹² For we dare not to class ourselves or to compare ourselves with those who commend themselves, but they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, do not understand.

¹³ For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.

³ But not even Titus who was with me, although he was a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised;

¹⁴ But when I saw that they did not act rightly with respect to the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, "If you, being a Jew, live in Gentile fashion and not in Jewish fashion, why do you compel the Gentiles to live as Jews?

¹¹ And I, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been done away with.

¹³ For not even those who are circumcised keep the law themselves, but they wish you to be circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.

¹⁵ Some indeed are preaching Christ even from envy and strife, but some also from good will:

⁴ Let each of you look out not only for his own concerns, but also for the concerns of others.

¹⁸ For many walk, of whom often I was speaking to you, and now even weeping I tell you, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:

²³ These things indeed have a reputation of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and severity on the body, but are not of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.
