⁴ that the Lord may confirm His word which He spoke, saying, If your children shall take heed to their way to walk before Me in truth with all their heart, I promise you, saying, there shall not fail you a man on the throne of Israel.

¹ When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, I am your God, be well-pleasing before Me, and be blameless.

¹⁹ For I know that he will order his sons, and his house after him, and they will keep the ways of the Lord, to do justice and judgment, that the Lord may bring upon Abraham all things whatsoever He has spoken to him.

³ If you will walk in My ordinances, and keep My commandments, and do them,

⁵ And you shall love the Lord your God with all your mind, and with all your soul, and all your strength.

¹² And it shall come to pass when you shall have heard these statutes, and have kept and done them, that the Lord your God shall keep for you the covenant and the mercy, which He swore to your fathers.

¹² And now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, and to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul;

¹³ Now if you will indeed hearken to all the commandments which I charge you this day, to love the Lord your God, and to serve Him with all your heart, and with all your soul,

¹¹ from the days when I appointed judges over My people Israel: and I will give you rest from all your enemies, and the Lord declares to you, that He shall build you a house. ¹² And it shall come to pass when your days have been fulfilled, and you sleep with your fathers, that I will raise up your seed after you, even from your own body, and I will establish his kingdom. ¹³ He shall build for Me a house for My name, and I will set up his throne, even forever. ¹⁴ I will be to him a father, and he shall be to Me a son. And when he happens to transgress, then will I chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the sons of men. ¹⁵ But My mercy I will not take from him, as I took it from those whom I removed from My presence. ¹⁶ And his house shall be made sure, and his kingdom forever before Me, and his throne shall be established forever.

²⁵ And now, O my Lord, the Almighty Lord God of Israel, confirm the word forever which You have spoken concerning Your servant and his house: and now as You have said,

³ And Solomon loved the Lord, so as to walk in the ordinances of David his father; only he sacrificed and burnt incense on the high places.

¹⁴ And if you will walk in My ways, to keep My commandments and My ordinances, as David your father walked, then will I multiply your days.

²³ and he said: Lord God of Israel, there is no God like You in heaven above and on the earth below, keeping covenant and mercy with Your servant who walks before You with all his heart;

²⁵ And now, O Lord God of Israel, keep for Your servant David my father, the promises which You have spoken to him, saying, There shall not be taken from you a man sitting before Me on the throne of Israel, provided only your children shall take heed to their ways, to walk before Me as you has walked before Me.

⁵ then will I establish the throne of your kingdom in Israel forever, as I spoke to David your father, saying, There shall not fail you a man to rule in Israel.

³ O Lord, remember, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in Your eyes. And Hezekiah wept with a great weeping.

³ And the king stood by a pillar, and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord, to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His ordinances with all his heart and with all his soul, to confirm the words of this covenant; even all the things written in this book. And all the people stood to the covenant.

²⁵ There was no king like him before him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his strength, according to all the Law of Moses; and after him there rose none like him.

¹¹ And it shall come to pass when your days shall be fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, that I will raise up your seed after you, which shall be of your loins, and I will establish his kingdom. ¹² He shall build Me a house, and I will set up his throne forever. ¹³ I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to Me a son; and My mercy will I not withdraw from him, as I withdrew it from them that were before you. ¹⁴ And I will establish him in My house and in his kingdom forever; and his throne shall be set up forever. ¹⁵ According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so spoke Nathan to David.

⁹ Behold, a son shall be born to you, he shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about; for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days. ¹⁰ He shall build a house to My name; and he shall be a son to Me, and I will be a Father to him; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom in Israel forever. ¹¹ And now, my son, the Lord shall be with you, and prosper you; and you shall build a house to the Lord your God, as He spoke concerning you.

⁵ And of all my sons, (for the Lord has given me many sons) He has chosen Solomon my son, to set him on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel. ⁶ And God said to me, Solomon your son shall build My house and My court; for I have chosen him to be My son, and I will be to him a Father. ⁷ And I will establish his kingdom forever, if he continues to keep My commandments, and My judgments, as it is this day.

⁹ And now, my son Solomon, know the God of your fathers, and serve Him with a perfect heart and a willing soul; for the Lord searches all hearts, and knows every thought: if you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you should forsake Him, He will forsake you forever.

³ And the Lord was with Jehoshaphat, for he walked in the first ways of his father, and did not seek to idols;

⁹ For evildoers shall be destroyed; but they that wait on the Lord, they shall inherit the land.

²² For those that bless Him shall inherit the earth; and they that curse Him shall be utterly destroyed.

²⁹ And I will establish his seed forever and ever, and his throne as the days of heaven. ³⁰ If his children should forsake My law, and walk not in My judgments; ³¹ if they should profane My ordinances, and not keep My commandments; ³² I will visit their transgressions with a rod, and their sins with scourges. ³³ But My mercy I will not utterly remove from him, nor wrong My truth. ³⁴ Neither will I by any means profane My covenant; and I will not make void the things that proceed out of My lips. ³⁵ Once have I sworn by My holiness, that I will not lie to David. ³⁶ His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before Me; ³⁷ and as the moon that is established forever, and as the faithful witness in heaven. Pause.

¹¹ The Lord has sworn in truth to David, and He will not annul it, saying, Of the fruit of your body will I set a king upon your throne. ¹² If your children will keep My covenant, and these My testimonies which I shall teach them, their children also shall sit upon your throne forever.

² And I will gather all the Gentiles to Jerusalem to war, and the city shall be taken, and the houses plundered, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, but the rest of My people shall not be utterly cut off from the city.

³⁷ Jesus said to him, " 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.'

⁶ And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

⁹ "Just as the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. ¹⁰ If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and I abide in His love.

²⁰ But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, ²¹ keep yourselves in the love of God, anticipating the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

²⁴ Now to Him who is able to keep them from stumbling, and to make you stand before His glory, blameless with exultation,
