¹² Or did I order the morning light in thy time; and did the morning star then first see his appointed place; ¹³ to lay hold of the extremities of the earth, to cast out the ungodly out of it? ¹⁴ Or didst thou take clay of the ground, and form a living creature, and set it with the power of speech upon the earth?

³¹ And dost thou understand the band of Pleias, and hast thou opened the barrier of Orion? ³² Or wilt thou reveal Mazuroth in his season, and the evening star with his rays? Wilt thou guide them?

¹² Then Joshua spoke to the Lord, in the day in which the Lord delivered the Amorite into the power of Israel, when he destroyed them in Gabaon, and they were destroyed from before the children of Israel: and Joshua said, Let the sun stand over against Gabaon, and the moon over against the valley of Aelon. ¹³ And the sun and the moon stood still, until God executed vengeance on their enemies; and the sun stood still in the midst of heaven; it did not proceed to set till the end of one day. ¹⁴ And there was not such a day either before or after, so that God should hearken to a man, because the Lord fought on the side of Israel.

²⁶ (do we not see the shining sun eclipsed, and the moon waning? for they have not power to continue:)

⁷ When the stars were made, all my angels praised me with a loud voice.

^{6 (18:6)} His going forth is from the extremity of heaven, and his circuit to the other end of heaven: and no one shall be hidden from his heat.

¹⁰ For the stars of heaven, and Orion, and all the host of heaven, shall not give their light; and it shall be dark at sunrise, and the moon shall not give her light.

²³ And the brick shall decay, and the wall shall fall; for the Lord shall reign from out of Sion, and out of Jerusalem, and shall be glorified before his elders.

¹¹ The sun was exalted, and the moon stood still in her course: thy darts shall go forth at the light, at the brightness of the gleaming of thine arms.

¹² Or did I order the morning light in thy time; and did the morning star then first see his appointed place;

¹ For the end, concerning the wine-presses, a Psalm of David. O Lord, our Lord, how wonderful is thy name in all the earth! for thy magnificence is exalted above the heavens.

⁷ And God made the firmament, and God divided between the water which was under the firmament and the water which was above the firmament.

²² And God blessed them saying, Increase and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let the creatures that fly be multiplied on the earth.

³⁰ And to all the wild beasts of the earth, and to all the flying creatures of heaven, and to every reptile creeping on the earth, which has in itself the breath of life, even every green plant for food; and it was so.

¹⁹ And God formed yet farther out of the earth all the wild beasts of the field, and all the birds of the sky, and he brought them to Adam, to see what he would call them, and whatever Adam called any living creature, that was the name of it.

¹⁷ And all the wild beasts as many as are with thee, and all flesh both of birds and beasts, and every reptile moving upon the earth, bring forth with thee: and increase ye and multiply upon the earth.

³³ And he spoke of trees, from the cedar in Libanus even to the hyssop which comes out through the wall: he spoke also of cattle, and of birds, and of reptiles, and of fishes.

^{24 (103:24)} How great are thy works, O Lord! in wisdom hast thou wrought them all: the earth is filled with thy creation. ^{25 (103:25)} So is this great and wide sea: there are things creeping innumerable, small animals and great.

¹⁰ wild beasts, and all cattle; reptiles, and winged birds:

²¹ For there is such a man that his labour is in wisdom, and in knowledge, and in fortitude; yet this man shall give his portion to one who has not laboured therein. This is also vanity and great evil.

^{20 (6:21)} Of all winged birds after their kind, and of all cattle after their kind, and of all reptiles creeping upon the earth after their kind, pairs of all shall come in to thee, male and female to be fed with thee.

¹⁴ And all the wild beasts after their kind, and all cattle after their kind, and every reptile moving itself on the earth after its kind, and every flying bird after its kind,

¹⁹ And all the wild beasts and all the cattle and every bird, and every reptile creeping upon the earth after their kind, came forth out of the ark.

⁷ But do ye increase and multiply, and fill the earth, and have dominion over it.

⁷ And the children of Israel increased and multiplied, and became numerous and grew exceedingly strong, and the land multiplied them.

³ and the river shall teem with frogs, and they shall go up and enter into thy houses, and into thy bed-chambers, and upon thy beds, and upon the houses of thy servants, and of thy people and on thy dough, and on thine ovens.

¹² Am I a sea, or a serpent, that thou hast set a watch over me?

⁵ Shall giants be born from under the water and the inhabitants thereof?

^{24 (103:24)} How great are thy works, O Lord! in wisdom hast thou wrought them all: the earth is filled with thy creation. ^{25 (103:25)} So is this great and wide sea: there are things creeping innumerable, small animals and great. ^{26 (103:26)} There go the ships; and this dragon whom thou hast made to play in it.

² Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharao king of Egypt, and say to him, Thou art become like a lion of the nations, and as a serpent that is in the sea: and thou didst make assaults with thy rivers, and didst disturb the water with thy feet, and didst trample thy rivers.

^{17 (2:1)} Now the Lord had commanded a great whale to swallow up Jonas: and Jonas was in the belly of the whale three days and three nights.

^{10 (2:11)} And the whale was commanded by the Lord, and it cast up Jonas on the dry land.

²⁸ And God blessed them, saying, Increase and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the seas and flying creatures of heaven, and all the cattle and all the earth, and all the reptiles that creep on the earth.

¹ And God blessed Noe and his sons, and said to them, Increase and multiply, and fill the earth and have dominion over it.

²⁷ And Laban said to him, If I have found grace in thy sight, I would augur well, for the Lord has blessed me at thy coming in.

³⁰ For it was little thou hadst before my time, and it is increased to a multitude, and the Lord God has blessed thee since my coming; now then, when shall I set up also my own house?

¹¹ And God said to him, I am thy God; increase and multiply; for nations and gatherings of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins.

⁹ And I will look upon you, and increase you, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.

^{15 (40:10)} But now look at the wild beasts with thee; they eat grass like oxen.

¹² And the Lord blessed the latter end of Job, more than the beginning: and his cattle were fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen, a thousand she-asses of the pastures.

^{31 (106:31)} Let them acknowledge to the Lord his mercies, and his wonderful works to the children of men.

^{38 (106:38)} And he blesses them, and they multiply exceedingly, and he diminishes not the number of their cattle.

^{3 (127:3)} Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine on the sides of thy house: thy children as young olive-plants round about thy table.

¹ Say if thou knowest the time of the bringing forth of the wild goats of the rock, and if thou hast marked the calving of the hinds:

⁵ And who is he that sent forth the wild ass free? and who loosed his bands?

⁹ And will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or to lie down at thy manger?

¹⁹ Hast thou invested the horse with strength, and clothed his neck with terror?

^{9 (49:9)} I will take no bullocks out of thine house, nor he-goats out of thy flocks. ^{10 (49:10)} For all the wild beasts of the thicket are mine, the cattle on the mountains, and oxen.

^{18 (103:18)} The high mountains are a refuge for the stags, and the rock for the rabbits.

^{23 (103:23)} Man shall go forth to his work, and to his labour till evening.

¹⁹ And God formed yet farther out of the earth all the wild beasts of the field, and all the birds of the sky, and he brought them to Adam, to see what he would call them, and whatever Adam called any living creature, that was the name of it. ²⁰ And Adam gave names to all the cattle and to all the birds of the sky, and to all the wild beasts of the field, but for Adam there was not found a help like to himself.

⁸ Tell the earth, if it may speak to thee: and the fishes of the sea shall explain to thee. ⁹ Who then has not known in all these things, that the hand of the Lord has made them? ¹⁰ Whereas the life of all living things is in his hand, and the breath of every man.

² And the dread and the fear of you shall be upon all the wild beasts of the earth, on all the birds of the sky, and on all things moving upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea, I have placed them under you power. ³ And every reptile which is living shall be to you for meat, I have given all things to you as the green herbs. ⁴ But flesh with blood of life ye shall not eat.

⁶ He that sheds man's blood, instead of that blood shall his own be shed, for in the image of God I made man.

⁷ Come, and having gone down let us there confound their tongue, that they may not understand each the voice of his neighbour.

²³ For the wild beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.

¹⁰ But none said, Where is God that made me, who appoints the night-watches;

⁴ What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him? ⁵ Thou madest him a little less than angels, thou hast crowned him with glory and honour; ⁶ and thou hast set him over the works of thy hands: thou hast put all things under his feet: ⁷ sheep and all oxen, yea and the cattle of the field; ⁸ the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea, the creatures passing through the paths of the sea.

^{3 (99:3)} Know that the Lord he is God; he made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

^{20 (103:20)} Thou didst make darkness, and it was night; in it all the wild beasts of the forest will be abroad: ^{21 (103:21)} even young lions roaring for prey, and to seek meat for themselves from God. ^{22 (103:22)} The sun arises, and they shall be gathered together, and shall lie down in their dens. ^{23 (103:23)} Man shall go forth to his work, and to his labour till evening. ^{24 (103:24)} How great are thy works, O Lord! in wisdom hast thou wrought them all: the earth is filled with thy creation.

² Let Israel rejoice in him that made him; and let the children of Sion exult in their king.

⁸ And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go to this people? And I said, behold, I am here, send me. And he said, Go, and say to this people,

²¹ And God brought a trance upon Adam, and he slept, and he took one of his ribs, and filled up the flesh instead thereof. ²² And God formed the rib which he took from Adam into a woman, and brought her to Adam. ²³ And Adam said, This now is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of her husband. ²⁴ Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. ^{25 (3:1)} And the two were naked, both Adam and his wife, and were not ashamed.

¹ This is the genealogy of men in the day in which God made Adam; in the image of God he made him: ² male and female he made them, and blessed them; and he called his name Adam, in the day in which he made them.

^{14 (138:14)} I will give thee thanks; for thou art fearfully wondrous; wondrous are thy works; and my soul knows it well.

⁷ even all who are called by my name: for I have prepared him for my glory, and I have formed him, and have made him:

¹⁵ And did he not do well? and there was the residue of his spirit. But ye said, What does God seek but a seed? But take ye heed to your spirit, and forsake not the wife of thy youth.

¹⁶ And I will bless her, and give thee a son of her, and I will bless him, and he shall become nations, and kings of nations shall be of him.

²⁰ And concerning Ismael, behold, I have heard thee, and, behold, I have blessed him, and will increase him and multiply him exceedingly; twelve nations shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

¹⁷ surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand which is by the shore of the sea, and thy seed shall inherit the cities of their enemies. ¹⁸ And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because thou hast hearkened to my voice.

⁶⁰ And they blessed Rebecca, and said to her, Thou art our sister; become thou thousands of myriads, and let thy seed possess the cities of their enemies.

³ And sojourn in this land; and I will be with thee, and bless thee, for I will give to thee and to thy seed all this land; and I will establish my oath which I swore to thy father Abraam. ⁴ And I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven; and I will give to thy seed all this land, and all the nations of the earth shall be blest in thy seed.

²⁴ And the Lord appeared to him in that night, and said, I am the God of Abraam thy father; fear not, for I am with thee, and I will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for the sake of Abraam thy father.

⁵ And Esau looked up and saw the women and the children, and said, What are these to thee? And he said, The children with which God has mercifully blessed thy servant.

²⁵ and my God helped thee, and he blessed thee with the blessing of heaven from above, and the blessing of the earth possessing all things, because of the blessing of the breasts and of the womb,

¹⁰ And Igabes called on the God of Israel, saying, O that thou wouldest indeed bless me, and enlarge my coasts, and that thy hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest make me know that thou wilt not grieve me! And God granted him all that he asked.

⁵ Amiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Phelathi the eighth: for God blessed him.
