⁸ And the fourth poured out his bowl upon the sun, and there was given to it to scorch men with fire.

⁶ And the sun having risen, they were scorched, and through not having root, were dried up.

²⁵ And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars; and upon the earth distress of nations with perplexity, sea roaring and surge rolling,

²⁰ The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord coming.

¹² And I saw when He opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the whole moon became like blood,

¹⁶ they will not hunger any more, neither will they thirst anymore, nor shall the sun at all fall upon them, nor any scorching heat;

¹² And the fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them should be darkened, and the day should not appear for a third of it, and the night likewise.

² And he opened the pit of the abyss, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit.

¹⁷ And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and those sitting on them, having fiery and hyacinthine and brimstone breastplates. And the heads of the horses were like heads of lions, and out of their mouths proceed fire and smoke and brimstone. ¹⁸ By these three plagues, a third of mankind was killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone proceeding out of their mouths.

¹⁸ And another angel having authority over the fire came out of the altar, and he called in a loud cry to the one having the sharp sickle, saying, “Put forth your sharp sickle, and gather the clusters from the vine of the earth, because its grapes have fully ripened.”
