⁴² saying, “Father, if You are willing, take away this cup from Me. Yet not My will, but Yours be done.”

²² And Jesus answering, said, “You do not know what you ask for. Are you able to drink the cup which I am about to drink?” They say to Him, “We are able.”

³⁹ And having gone forward a little, He fell upon His face, praying, and saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Nevertheless not as I will, but as You.”

⁴² Again for a second time having gone away, He prayed, saying, “My Father, if this is not possible to pass unless I drink it, Your will be done.”

⁴⁴ And having left them again, having gone away, He prayed for the third time, having said the same thing again.

³⁶ And He was saying, “Abba, Father, all things are possible to You; take away this cup from Me; but not what I will, but what You will.”

¹⁷ And having received the cup, having given thanks, He said, “Take this and divide it among yourselves. ¹⁸ For I say to you that I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now until the kingdom of God shall come.” ¹⁹ And having taken the bread, having given thanks, He broke it and gave to them, saying, “This is My body, which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me,” ²⁰ and the cup likewise, after having supped, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is being poured out for you.

³⁴ Jesus says to them, “My food is that I should do the will of the One having sent Me, and should finish His work.

³⁰ I am able to do nothing of Myself. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My will, but the will of the One having sent Me.

³⁸ For I have come down from heaven, not that I should do My will, but the will of the One having sent Me.

²⁷ Now My soul has been troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But on account of this I came to this hour. ²⁸ Father, glorify Your name.” Therefore a voice came from heaven: “I have both glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”

¹¹ Therefore Jesus said to Peter, “Put the sword into the sheath. The cup which the Father has given Me, shall I not drink it?”

⁷ Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come— in the scroll of the book it is written of Me— to do Your will, O God.’” ⁸ Saying above, “Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offerings for sin, You have not desired, nor have You delighted in” (which are offered according to the Law), ⁹ then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first that He might establish the second. ¹⁰ By that will, we are having been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
