Therefore speak to her, that she might help me!” 41 And the Lord answering said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; 42 but one thing is necessary, only one; for Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

Luke 16:20-25

20 And a certain poor man named Lazarus, being full of sores, was laid at his gate 21 and desiring to be fed from that falling from the table of the rich man; but even the dogs, coming, were licking his sores. 22 And it came to pass that the poor man died, and he was carried away by the angels into the bosom of Abraham. And the rich man also died and was buried. 23 And in Hades, having lifted up his eyes, being in torment, he sees Abraham from afar, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And having cried out, he said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus, that he might dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am suffering in this flame.’ 25 And Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that you did fully receive your good things in your lifetime, and Lazarus likewise the evil things. But now he is comforted here, and you are suffering.

John 11:3

3 Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, “Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.”

John 11:5-6

5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. 6 Therefore when He heard that he is sick, then indeed He remained two days in the place in which He was.

John 11:11

11 He said these things, and after this He says to them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I go that I may awaken him.”

John 12:1-2

1 Therefore six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised out from the dead. 2 Therefore they made Him a supper there, and Martha was serving, and Lazarus was one of those reclining with Him.

John 12:9

9 Therefore a great crowd of the Jews knew that He is there; and they came, not only because of Jesus, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom He had raised out from the dead.

John 12:17

17 Therefore the crowd being with Him when He called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him out from the dead, continued to bear witness.
