¹ For the Law, having a shadow of the good things coming, not the form of the things themselves, never is able each year, with the same sacrifices which they offer continually, to perfect those drawing near.

¹⁷ which are a shadow the things coming. But the body is of Christ.

¹⁸ For indeed, there is a putting away of the preceding commandment, because of its weakness and uselessness ¹⁹ (for the Law perfected nothing), and the introduction of a better hope, by which we draw near to God.

⁵ who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly, as Moses was divinely instructed, being about to complete the tabernacle. For He says, “See that you shall make all things according to the pattern having been shown you in the mountain.”

⁸ By this the Holy Spirit was signifying that the way into the holy places has not yet been made manifest, the first tabernacle still having a standing, ⁹ which is a symbol for the present time, in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered, not being able to make perfect in regard to conscience of the one worshiping,

¹¹ But Christ, having appeared as high priest of the good things having come, by the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made by hands, that is, not of this creation,

²³ Therefore it was necessary indeed for the representations of the things in the heavens to be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

²⁵ nor that He should offer Himself repeatedly, just as the high priest enters into the holy places every year with the blood of another.

³ But in these, there is a reminder of sins every year. ⁴ For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and of goats to take away sins.

¹¹ And indeed every priest stands every day, ministering and offering the same sacrifices repeatedly, which never are able to take away sins. ¹² But this One, having offered one sacrifice for sins in perpetuity, sat down at the right hand of God, ¹³ the henceforth awaiting until His enemies should be placed as a footstool for His feet. ¹⁴ For by one offering, He has perfected for all time those being sanctified. ¹⁵ And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after having said before: ¹⁶ “This is the covenant that I will make with them, after those days, says the Lord, putting My Laws into their hearts, and I will inscribe them into their mind,” ¹⁷ and, “Their sins and their lawless acts, I will remember no more.” ¹⁸ Now where there is forgiveness of these, no longer is there an offering for sin.
