²⁰ And neither sun nor stars appearing for many days, and no small tempest lying on us, from then on all hope of our being saved was abandoned.

²⁴ And behold, a great storm arose in the sea so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but He Himself was sleeping. ²⁵ And having approached, they awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us, we are perishing!”

²⁹ And immediately after the tribulation of those days: ‘The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.’

²⁵ Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked. I have passed a night and a day in the deep sea;

¹² that at that time you were separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, not having hope and without God in the world.

¹³ But we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those having fallen asleep, so that you should not be grieved, just as also the rest, those having no hope.
