¹ Now when our sailing to Italy was determined, they delivered both Paul and certain other prisoners to a centurion named Julius, of the cohort of Augustus.

⁵ And He having entered into Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, imploring Him, ⁶ and saying, “Lord, my servant is lying in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented.” ⁷ And He says to him, “I having come, will heal him.” ⁸ But the centurion answering, said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof; but just say the word, and my servant will be healed. ⁹ For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” ¹⁰ And Jesus having heard, marveled and said to those following, “Truly I say to you, no one in Israel with faith so great have I found.

⁵⁴ And the centurion and those with him keeping guard over Jesus, having seen the earthquake and the things taking place, feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was God’s Son.”

² And a certain servant of a centurion, who was valued highly to him, being sick, was about to die.

⁴⁷ And having seen that which had taken place, the centurion began glorifying God, saying, “Certainly this man was righteous.”

¹ Now a certain man in Caesarea named Cornelius was a centurion of the Cohort that is called Italian,

²² And they said, “Cornelius a centurion, a righteous and God fearing man—and being well testified to by the whole nation of the Jews—was divinely instructed by a holy angel to send for you to his house and to hear a message from you.”

¹⁰ Now when he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go forth to Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.

² And having found a certain Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, and Priscilla his wife, recently having come from Italy because of Claudius having commanded all the Jews to depart out of Rome, he came to them,

²¹ Now after these things were fulfilled, Paul purposed in the Spirit to go to Jerusalem, having passed through Macedonia and Achaia, having said, “After my having been there, it behooves me to see Rome also.”

³² who at once, having taken with him soldiers and centurions, ran down upon them. And having seen the commander and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.

²⁶ And the centurion having heard it, having gone to the commander, reported it saying, “What are you going to do? For this man is a Roman.”

¹¹ But the following night the Lord, having stood by him, said, “Take courage, for as you have fully testified about Me at Jerusalem, so also it behooves you to testify in Rome.”

¹⁷ Then Paul, having summoned one of the centurions, was saying, “Take this young man to the commander, for he has something to report to him.”

²³ having commanded the centurion to keep him and to let him have ease and not to forbid his own to minister to him.

¹² Then Festus, having conferred with the Council, answered, “You have appealed to Caesar; to Caesar you will go!”

²⁵ But I, having understood him to have done nothing worthy of death, of this one himself now having appealed to the Emperor, I determined to send him,

⁶ And there the centurion, having found a ship of Alexandria sailing to Italy, placed us into it.

¹¹ But the centurion was persuaded by the pilot and the ship owner, rather than by the things spoken by Paul.

⁴³ But the centurion, desiring to save Paul, hindered them of the purpose; and he commanded those being able to swim, having cast themselves off first, to go out on the land,

¹⁶ Now when we came to Rome, Paul was allowed to stay by himself, with the soldier who was guarding him.

²² Therefore also I have been hindered many times to come to you. ²³ But now, no longer having a place in these regions, and having had a great desire for many years to come to you, ²⁴ whenever I may go to Spain, I hope indeed, going through, to see you and to be equipped there by you, if first I should be filled of you in part. ²⁵ But now I am going to Jerusalem, ministering to the saints. ²⁶ For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem. ²⁷ For they were pleased, and they are debtors of them. For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual things, they ought also to minister to them in the material things. ²⁸ Therefore having finished this, and having sealed this fruit to them, I will set off through you into Spain. ²⁹ Now I know that coming to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.

²⁴ Greet all those leading you and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you.
