⁵ Have we no authority to take about a believer as a wife, as also the other apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?

¹⁴ And Jesus having come to the house of Peter, He saw his mother-in-law lying sick and fevering.

⁴⁶ Now while He was speaking to the crowds, behold, His mother and brothers were standing outside, seeking to speak to Him. ⁴⁷ Then someone said to Him, “Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak to You.” ⁴⁸ And answering, He said to the one telling Him, “Who is My mother, and who are My brothers?” ⁴⁹ And having stretched out His hand to His disciples, He said, “Behold, My mother and My brothers. ⁵⁰ For whoever shall do the will of My Father who is in the heavens, he is My brother and sister and mother.”

⁵⁵ Is this not the son of the carpenter? Is not His mother called Mary, and His brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas?

³⁰ And the mother-in-law of Simon was laying sick fevering. And immediately they speak to Him about her.

³ Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James and Joseph and Judas and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” And they took offense at Him.

¹⁵ and Matthew and Thomas; and James son of Alphaeus; and Simon the one called Zealot;

⁴² He led him to Jesus. Having looked at him, Jesus said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You will be called Cephas” (which means Peter).

¹² After this, He went down to Capernaum, He and His mother, and His brothers, and His disciples, and they stayed there not many days.

¹⁴ All these were steadfastly continuing with one accord in prayer, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

¹ Now I commend to you Phoebe our sister, being also a servant of the church in Cenchrea,

¹² Now I mean this, that each of you says, “I indeed am of Paul,” and “I of Apollos,” and “I of Cephas,” and “I of Christ.”

⁷ And I wish all men to be even like myself. But each has his own gift from God; for one has this, but one that.

¹⁵ But if the unbeliever separates himself, let him separate himself. The brother or the sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God has called you into peace.

³⁹ A wife is bound for as long a time as her husband may live; but if the husband shall have died, she is free to be married to whom she wills, only in the Lord.

¹⁹ But I saw none of the other apostles, only James, the Lord’s brother.

² Therefore it behooves the overseer to be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,

³ forbidding to marry, commanding to abstain from foods that God created for reception with thanksgiving by the faithful and those knowing the truth.

² elder women as mothers; and younger women as sisters, in all purity.

⁶ if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having believing children, not under accusation of debauchery, or insubordinate.

⁴ Let marriage be honorable in all, and the marriage bed undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.
