¹ Now concerning the things sacrificed to idols, we know indeed we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. ² If anyone thinks to have known anything, not yet does he know as it is necessary to know. ³ But if anyone loves God, he is known by Him. ⁴ Therefore concerning the eating of the things sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world and that there is no God except one. ⁵ Truly even if indeed there are those called gods, whether in heaven or on earth, as there are many gods and many lords, ⁶ yet to us there is one God the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we through Him. ⁷ But this knowledge is not in all. And some, by habit of the idol until now, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol; and their conscience being weak, it is defiled. ⁸ But food will not commend us to God; neither if we should eat do we come short, nor if we should not eat, do we have an advantage. ⁹ But be careful, lest somehow this right of yours becomes an occasion of stumbling to those being weak. ¹⁰ For if anyone sees you, having knowledge, eating in an idol’s temple, will not his conscience, being weak, be built up so as to eat the things sacrificed to idols? ¹¹ For the one being weak is destroyed through your knowledge—the brother for whom Christ died. ¹² And thus sinning against the brothers and wounding their being weak conscience, you sin against Christ. ¹³ Therefore, if food snares my brother, never shall not I eat meat to the age, so that I might not snare my brother.

¹⁰ Now therefore, why are you testing God, to put upon the neck of the disciples a yoke that neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear?

¹⁹ Therefore I judge not to trouble those from the Gentiles turning to God, ²⁰ but to write to them to abstain from the pollutions of idols, and sexual immorality, and that which is strangled, and from blood.

²⁹ to abstain from things sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what is strangled, and from sexual immorality. Keeping yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.”

²⁵ Now concerning those of the Gentiles having believed, we wrote, having adjudged them to keep from both the things offered to idols, and blood, and what is strangled, and sexual immorality.”

²⁵ For I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, of this mystery, so that you may not be wise in yourselves: A hardening in part has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles may come in.

¹⁶ minding the same thing toward one another, not minding the things haughty, but going along with the lowly. Do not be wise in yourselves,

³ The one eating, let him not despise the one not eating; and the one not eating, let him not judge the one eating, for God has received him.

¹⁰ But why do you judge your brother, or why also do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.

¹⁴ I know and I am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean of itself, except to him reckoning anything to be unclean—to that one it is unclean.

²² The faith that you have, keep to yourself before God. Blessed is the one not judging himself in what he approves.

¹⁴ And I myself also am persuaded concerning you my brothers, that you yourselves are also full of goodness, being filled with all knowledge, and being able to admonish one another.

⁵ that in everything you have been enriched in Him, in all speech and all knowledge,

¹⁰ We are fools on account of Christ, but you are wise in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; You are honored, but we are without honor.

¹⁸ Now some have become puffed up, as if I were not coming to you.

² And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, so that the one having done this deed might be taken out of your midst!

⁶ Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?

⁷ But this knowledge is not in all. And some, by habit of the idol until now, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol; and their conscience being weak, it is defiled.

¹⁰ For if anyone sees you, having knowledge, eating in an idol’s temple, will not his conscience, being weak, be built up so as to eat the things sacrificed to idols? ¹¹ For the one being weak is destroyed through your knowledge—the brother for whom Christ died.

¹⁹ Then what do I mean? That what is sacrificed to an idol is anything, or that an idol is anything? ²⁰ Rather, that what the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God. And I do not want you to be fellow partakers with demons. ²¹ You are not able to drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You are not able to partake of the table of the Lord and of the table of demons. ²² Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?

²⁸ But if anyone should say to you, “This is offered to an idol,” do not eat, on account of him having shown it, and conscience—

¹ If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become a sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. ² And if I should have prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I should have all faith so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. ³ And if I may give away all my possessions, and I may deliver up my body that I may boast, but have not love, I am profited nothing. ⁴ Love is patient, love is kind, love is not envious, it is not boastful, it is not puffed up. ⁵ It does not act unbecomingly, it does not seek the things of its own, it is not easily provoked, it keeps no account of wrongs. ⁶ It does not delight at unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth. ⁷ It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ⁸ Love never fails; but if there are prophesies, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will be ceased; if there is knowledge it will pass away. ⁹ For we know in part and we prophesy in part; ¹⁰ but when the perfect should come, the partial will be done away. ¹¹ When I was a child, I was speaking like a child, I was thinking like a child, I was reasoning like a child; when I became a man, I did away with the things of the child. ¹² For presently we see through a glass in obscurity; but then, face to face. Presently, I know in part; but then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. ¹³ But now these three things abide: faith, hope, love; but the greatest of these is love.

²⁰ Brothers, do not be children in the minds. Yet in the evil, be little children; but in the thinking, be full grown.

³⁴ Sober up righteously and do not sin, for some have ignorance of God. I speak to your shame.

¹⁶ from whom the whole body, being joined together and being held together by every ligament of its supply, according to the working in the measure of each individual part, the increase of the body makes for itself, to the building up of itself in love.

¹⁸ Let no one disqualify you, delighting in humility and the worship of the angels, detailing what he has seen, being puffed up vainly by his mind of the flesh,

¹⁴ But I have a few things against you, because you have some there holding the teaching of Balaam, who would teach Balak to cast a snare before the sons of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.

²⁰ But I have against you that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, the one calling herself a prophetess and teaching and misleading My servants to commit sexual immorality and to eat things sacrificed to idols.

¹⁸ Let no one deceive himself: If anyone among you thinks himself to be wise in this age, let him become foolish, so that he may become wise.

⁸ Love never fails; but if there are prophesies, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will be ceased; if there is knowledge it will pass away. ⁹ For we know in part and we prophesy in part;

¹² For presently we see through a glass in obscurity; but then, face to face. Presently, I know in part; but then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known.

³ For if anyone thinks himself to be something being nothing, he deceives himself.

⁵ Now the goal of our instruction is love out of a pure heart, and a good conscience, and a sincere faith, ⁶ from which some, having missed the mark, have turned aside to meaningless discourse, ⁷ desiring to be teachers of the Law, understanding neither what they are saying nor that about which they confidently assert.

³ If anyone teaches another doctrine and does not draw near, being sound in the words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching according to godliness, ⁴ he is puffed up, knowing nothing, but unhealthy about controversies and disputes about words, out of which come envy, strife, slander, evil suspicions,

²³ And then I will declare unto them, ‘I never knew you; depart you from Me, those working lawlessness.’

¹⁴ I am the good shepherd, and I know My own, and I am known by My own.

¹⁷ He says to him the third time, “Simon son of John, do you dearly love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you dearly love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I dearly love You.” Jesus says to him, “Feed My sheep.

²⁸ And we know that God works together all things for good to those loving God, to those being called according to His purpose, ²⁹ because those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be firstborn among many brothers.

² God did not reject His people, whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says in Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel:

⁹ But as it has been written: “What no eye has seen, and no ear has heard, and has not entered into heart of man, what God has prepared for those loving Him.”

⁹ But now, having known God, but rather having been known by God, how do you turn again to the weak and destitute principles, to which you desire to be enslaved again anew?

¹⁹ Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those being His,” and, “Let everyone naming the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.”

¹² Blessed is the man who endures trial, because, having been approved, he will receive the crown of life that He has promised to those loving Him.

⁵ Listen, my beloved brothers: Has not God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that He promised to those loving Him?

⁸ whom not having seen you love, on whom now believing though not seeing you also exult with joy inexpressible and filled with glory,

¹⁹ We love because He first loved us.

² By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. ³ For this is the love of God, that we should keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.

⁹ I know your tribulation and poverty—but you are rich—and the blasphemy of those claiming themselves to be Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

¹³ I know where you dwell, where the throne of Satan is; and you hold fast to My name, and you have not denied My faith, even in the days of Antipas My witness, My faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

¹⁹ I know your works, and your love and faith and service and perseverance; and your latter works are greater than the first.

⁸ I know your deeds. Behold, I have set before you a door having been opened, which no one is able to shut it, because you have little power, and yet you have kept My word and have not denied My name. ⁹ Behold, I give those from the synagogue of Satan—those declaring themselves to be Jews, and are not, but they lie—behold, I will cause them that they will come and will worship before your feet, and they shall know that I have loved you.

¹⁵ I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you would be cold or hot. ¹⁶ So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am about to spit you out of My mouth.

²⁹ Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘Hear this O Israel: The Lord our God is One Lord,

¹⁵ and saying, “Men, why do you do these things? We also are men of like nature with you, proclaiming the gospel to you, to turn from these vanities to the living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all the things in them,

²⁶ And you see and hear that not only in Ephesus, but almost all of Asia, this Paul, having persuaded them, has turned away a great many people, saying that they are not gods which have been made by hands.

⁵ For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

²⁵ to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and to all the ages. Amen.

³⁴ Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law: ‘I said you are gods’? ³⁵ If he called them gods to whom the word of God came, and the Scripture is not able to be broken,

⁸ But at that time indeed, not knowing God, you were enslaved to those by nature not being gods.

⁴ the one opposing and exalting himself above every so-called god or object of worship—so as for him to sit down in the temple of God, setting forth that he himself is God.

²⁷ All things have been delivered to Me by My Father. And no one knows the Son, except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and to whom the Son might choose to reveal Him.

¹⁸ And having come to them, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “All authority in heaven and on the earth has been given to Me.

³ All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.

²⁰ For the Father loves the Son and shows to Him all things that He does. And He will show Him greater works than these, so that you may marvel. ²¹ For even as the Father raises up the dead and gives life, thus also the Son gives life to whom He will. ²² For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, ²³ so that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who is not honoring the Son is not honoring the Father, the One having sent Him. ²⁴ Truly, truly, I say to you that the one hearing My word and believing the One having sent Me, he has eternal life and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. ²⁵ Truly, truly, I say to you that an hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those having heard will live. ²⁶ For as the Father has life in Himself, so also He gave to the Son to have life in Himself. ²⁷ And He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man. ²⁸ Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming in which all those in the tombs will hear His voice, ²⁹ and will come forth—those having done good to the resurrection of life, and those having done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

³⁰ I and the Father are one.”

¹³ You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say rightly, for so I am.

⁹ Jesus says to him, “Am I with you so long a time, and you have not known Me, Philip? The one having seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? ¹⁰ Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I speak to you, I do not speak from Myself; but the Father dwelling in Me does His works.

²⁰ In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

³ Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.

²¹ that all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. ²² And I have given them the glory which You have given Me, so that they may be one, as We are one— ²³ I in them, and You in Me—that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me and loved them even as You loved Me.

¹⁷ Jesus says to her, “Do not touch Me, for not yet have I ascended to the Father. Now go to My brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’”

³⁶ Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made Him both Lord and Christ—this Jesus whom you crucified.”

³¹ God exalted Him to His right hand as Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

²⁸ ‘For in Him we live and move and are.’ As also some of the poets among you have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’

³⁶ For from Him and through Him and unto Him are all things. To Him be the glory to the ages! Amen.

² To the church of God being in Corinth, having been sanctified in Christ Jesus, called holy, together with all those in every place calling on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both theirs and ours:

¹³ “Foods for the belly and the belly for foods,” but God will destroy both this and these. Now the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

³ Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking in the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed,” and no one is able to say, “Jesus is Lord,” if not in the Holy Spirit.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the One having blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms,

²⁰ which He worked in Christ, having raised Him out from the dead, and having set Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, ²¹ above every principality and authority and power and dominion, and every name being named, not only in this age, but also in the one coming. ²² And He put all things under His feet and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, ²³ which is His body, the fullness of the One filling all in all.

¹⁴ ... for reason of this I bow my knees to the Father,

⁵ one Lord, one faith, one baptism; ⁶ one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

⁹ Therefore God also highly exalted Him, and granted to Him the name above every name, ¹⁰ that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in the heavens and on earth and under the earth, ¹¹ and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

⁶ the one being present unto you, just as also in all the world it is bearing fruit and increasing, just as also among you from the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth,

¹⁶ because in Him were created all things in the heavens and upon the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or lordships or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and unto Him. ¹⁷ And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

⁵ For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, ⁶ the One having given Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony in their own proper times,

² in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the ages, ³ who, being the radiance of His glory and the exact expression of His substance, and upholding all things by the power of His word, through having made the purification of sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

² according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctification of the Spirit unto the obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: May grace and peace be multiplied to you. ³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the One according to His great mercy having begotten us again to a living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ out from the dead,

²¹ who by Him believe in God, the one having raised Him up out from the dead and having given Him glory, so as for your faith and hope to be in God.

¹⁸ and the Living One. And I was dead, and behold I am living to the ages of the ages, and I have the keys of Death and of Hades.

²² The faith that you have, keep to yourself before God. Blessed is the one not judging himself in what he approves. ²³ But the one doubting has been condemned if he eats, because it is not of faith; and anything that is not of faith is sin.

¹⁰ Now I exhort you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and there be no divisions among you, but you may be having been knit together in the same mind and in the same judgment. ¹¹ For it was shown to me concerning you, my brothers, by those of Chloe, that there are quarrels among you.

⁹ But be careful, lest somehow this right of yours becomes an occasion of stumbling to those being weak. ¹⁰ For if anyone sees you, having knowledge, eating in an idol’s temple, will not his conscience, being weak, be built up so as to eat the things sacrificed to idols?

²⁸ But if anyone should say to you, “This is offered to an idol,” do not eat, on account of him having shown it, and conscience— ²⁹ and I am not saying your own conscience, but that of the other; for why is my freedom judged by another’s conscience?

¹⁷ For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

²⁰ If you have died with Christ, away from the principles of the world, why as if living in the world do you submit to decrees: ²¹ “You should not handle! You should not taste! You should not touch!”?— ²² which are all unto decay with the use, according to the precepts and teachings of men, ²³ which having indeed an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed worship and humility and harsh treatment of the body, are not of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.

⁹ Do not be carried away by various and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, in which those being devoted were not profited.

⁶ And whoever shall cause to stumble one of these of the little ones believing in Me, it is better for him that a heavy millstone should be hung around his neck, and he be sunk in the depth of the sea. ⁷ Woe to the world because of the causes of sin. For the stumbling blocks are necessary to come, but woe to the man by whom the offense comes!

¹⁰ See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I say to you that their angels in the heavens continually behold the face of my Father, who is in the heavens.

¹ And He said to His disciples, “It is impossible for the stumbling blocks not to come, but woe to him by whom they come! ² It is better for him if a millstone is hung around his neck and he is thrown into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble.

¹ Now receive the one being weak in the faith, not for passing judgment on reasonings. ² Indeed, one believes to eat all things; but the one being weak eats vegetables.

¹³ No longer, therefore, should we judge one another; but rather determine this, not to put any stumbling block or snare before your brother. ¹⁴ I know and I am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean of itself, except to him reckoning anything to be unclean—to that one it is unclean. ¹⁵ For if on account of food your brother is grieved, no longer are you walking according to love. Do not destroy with food that one of you for whom Christ died.

²⁰ Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are clean, but it is wrong to the man eating through a stumbling block. ²¹ It is good neither to eat meat, nor to drink wine, nor anything in which your brother stumbles.

¹ Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of the weak and not to please ourselves.

¹² And thus sinning against the brothers and wounding their being weak conscience, you sin against Christ.

²² To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all these things to all, so that by all means I might save some.

²⁴ Let no one seek the good of himself, but that of the other.

²⁹ and I am not saying your own conscience, but that of the other; for why is my freedom judged by another’s conscience?

³² Be you without offense both to Jews and Greeks, and to the church of God—

²¹ I speak as to dishonor, as that we have been weak! But in whatever anyone might dare—I speak in foolishness—I also am daring.

¹³ For you brothers were called to freedom, but not the freedom for an opportunity to the flesh. Rather, serve one another through love.

¹⁶ as free, and not having the freedom as a cover-up for evil, but as servants of God.

¹⁹ promising them freedom, themselves being slaves of corruption. For by what anyone has been subdued, by that also he is enslaved.

²³ But the one doubting has been condemned if he eats, because it is not of faith; and anything that is not of faith is sin.

³³ as I also please all in all things, not seeking my own profit, but that of the many, that they may be saved.

⁴⁹ And having stretched out His hand to His disciples, He said, “Behold, My mother and My brothers. ⁵⁰ For whoever shall do the will of My Father who is in the heavens, he is My brother and sister and mother.”

⁶ And whoever shall cause to stumble one of these of the little ones believing in Me, it is better for him that a heavy millstone should be hung around his neck, and he be sunk in the depth of the sea.

²¹ Then Peter having come, said to Him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I will forgive him? Up to seven times?”

⁴⁰ And the King answering, will say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did it to Me.’

⁴⁵ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, neither did you to Me.’

⁴ And having fallen on the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?” ⁵ And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” And He said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.

¹² For just as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of the body being many are one body, so also is Christ.

²¹ It is good neither to eat meat, nor to drink wine, nor anything in which your brother stumbles.

¹² “All things are lawful to me,” but not all things do profit. “All things are lawful to me,” but I will not be mastered by anything.

¹² If others partake of the authority over you, should we not more? But we did not use this right. Instead, we bear all things, so that we should not place any hindrance to the gospel of Christ.

¹⁹ For being free from all, I myself became servant to all, so that I might win the more. ²⁰ And to the Jews I became like a Jew, so that I might win the Jews. To those under the Law, as under the Law (myself not being under the Law) so that I might win those under the Law. ²¹ To those outside the Law, as outside the Law (not being outside the law of God, but under the law of Christ) so that I might win those outside the Law. ²² To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all these things to all, so that by all means I might save some. ²³ Now I do all things on account of the gospel, that I might become a fellow partaker with it.
