³⁰ And why are we in danger every hour?

³⁶ As it has been written: “For Your sake we face death all the day; we were regarded as sheep of slaughter.” ³⁷ But in all these things, we more than conquer through the One having loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

³¹ I die every day, as surely as the boasting in you, brothers, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁷ Now we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassingness of the power may be from God, and not from us, ⁸ being hard pressed in every way but not being crushed, being perplexed but not despairing, ⁹ being persecuted but not being forsaken, being struck down but not being destroyed, ¹⁰ always carrying around the death of Jesus in our body, so that the life of Jesus also should be manifested in our body. ¹¹ For we the living are always being delivered to death on account of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our mortal flesh. ¹² So then, death works in us, but life in you.

⁹ as being unknown and yet being well-known; as dying and yet, behold, we live; as being punished and yet not being killed;

²³ Are they servants of Christ? I speak as being beside myself, I too above measure: more abundantly in labors, more abundantly in imprisonments, in beatings above measure, in deaths often. ²⁴ Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. ²⁵ Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked. I have passed a night and a day in the deep sea; ²⁶ in journeyings often, in perils of rivers, in perils of robbers; in perils from my own race, in perils from the Gentiles; in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness; in perils on the sea, in perils among false brothers; ²⁷ in labor and toil, often in watchings; in hunger and thirst, often in fastings; in cold and nakedness.

¹¹ Now, brothers, if I still proclaim circumcision, why still am I persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished.
