¹ Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I watched) ὅτε (when) ἤνοιξεν (opened) τὸ (the) Ἀρνίον (Lamb) μίαν (one) ἐκ (of) τῶν (the) ἑπτὰ (seven) σφραγίδων (seals), καὶ (and) ἤκουσα (I heard) ἑνὸς (one) ἐκ (of) τῶν (the) τεσσάρων (four) ζῴων (living creatures) λέγοντος (saying), ὡς (like) φωνῇ (a voice) βροντῆς (of thunder), “Ἔρχου (Come)!”

²⁰ οὐ (not) δυνάμεθα (are able) γὰρ (for) ἡμεῖς (we), ἃ (what) εἴδαμεν (we have seen) καὶ (and) ἠκούσαμεν (heard), μὴ (not) λαλεῖν (to speak).”

⁵ Καὶ (And) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) ἐκπορεύονται (come) ἀστραπαὶ (flashes of lightning), καὶ (and) φωναὶ (voices), καὶ (and) βρονταί (thunderings). καὶ (And) ἑπτὰ (there were seven) λαμπάδες (lamps) πυρὸς (of fire) καιόμεναι (burning) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne), ἅ (which) εἰσιν (are) τὰ (the) ἑπτὰ (seven) Πνεύματα (Spirits) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God). ⁶ καὶ (And) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) ὡς (was something like) θάλασσα (a sea) ὑαλίνη (of glass), ὁμοία (like) κρυστάλλῳ (crystal). καὶ (And) ἐν (in) μέσῳ (the midst) τοῦ (of the) θρόνου (throne) καὶ (and) κύκλῳ (around) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) τέσσαρα (were four) ζῷα (living creatures), γέμοντα (being full) ὀφθαλμῶν (of eyes) ἔμπροσθεν (in front) καὶ (and) ὄπισθεν (behind). ⁷ καὶ (And) τὸ (the) ζῷον (living creature) τὸ (-) πρῶτον (first) ὅμοιον (was like) λέοντι (a lion), καὶ (and) τὸ (the) δεύτερον (second) ζῷον (living creature) ὅμοιον (like) μόσχῳ (a calf), καὶ (and) τὸ (the) τρίτον (third) ζῷον (living creature) ἔχων (having) τὸ (the) πρόσωπον (face) ὡς (as) ἀνθρώπου (of a man), καὶ (and) τὸ (the) τέταρτον (fourth) ζῷον (living creature) ὅμοιον (like) ἀετῷ (an eagle) πετομένῳ (flying).

¹ Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I saw) ἐπὶ (on) τὴν (the) δεξιὰν (right hand) τοῦ (of the One) καθημένου (sitting) ἐπὶ (upon) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) βιβλίον (a scroll), γεγραμμένον (having been written) ἔσωθεν (inside) καὶ (and) ὄπισθεν (on the back), κατεσφραγισμένον (having been sealed) σφραγῖσιν (with seals) ἑπτά (seven).

⁵ Καὶ (And) εἷς (one) ἐκ (of) τῶν (the) πρεσβυτέρων (elders) λέγει (says) μοι (to me), “Μὴ (Not) κλαῖε (do weep). ἰδοὺ (Behold), ἐνίκησεν (has overcome) ὁ (the) Λέων (Lion) ὁ (-) ἐκ (of) τῆς (the) φυλῆς (tribe) Ἰούδα (of Judah), ἡ (the) Ῥίζα (root) Δαυίδ (of David), ἀνοῖξαι (to open) τὸ (the) βιβλίον (scroll) καὶ (and) τὰς (the) ἑπτὰ (seven) σφραγῖδας (seals) αὐτοῦ (of it).” ⁶ Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I saw) ἐν (in) μέσῳ (the midst) τοῦ (of the) θρόνου (throne) καὶ (and) τῶν (of the) τεσσάρων (four) ζῴων (living creatures), καὶ (and) ἐν (in) μέσῳ (the midst) τῶν (of the) πρεσβυτέρων (elders), Ἀρνίον (a Lamb) ἑστηκὸς (standing) ὡς (as) ἐσφαγμένον (having been slain), ἔχων (having) κέρατα (horns) ἑπτὰ (seven) καὶ (and) ὀφθαλμοὺς (eyes) ἑπτά (seven), οἵ (which) εἰσιν (are) τὰ (the) ἑπτὰ (seven) Πνεύματα (Spirits) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), ἀπεσταλμένοι (having been sent out) εἰς (into) πᾶσαν (all) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth). ⁷ καὶ (And) ἦλθεν (He came) καὶ (and) εἴληφεν (took it) ἐκ (out of) τῆς (the) δεξιᾶς (right hand) τοῦ (of the One) καθημένου (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne).

³ Καὶ (And) ὅτε (when) ἤνοιξεν (He opened) τὴν (the) σφραγῖδα (seal) τὴν (-) δευτέραν (second), ἤκουσα (I heard) τοῦ (the) δευτέρου (second) ζῴου (living creature) λέγοντος (saying), “Ἔρχου (Come)!”

⁵ Καὶ (And) ὅτε (when) ἤνοιξεν (He opened) τὴν (the) σφραγῖδα (seal) τὴν (-) τρίτην (third), ἤκουσα (I heard) τοῦ (the) τρίτου (third) ζῴου (living creature) λέγοντος (saying), “Ἔρχου (Come)!” Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I looked), καὶ (and) ἰδοὺ (behold), ἵππος (a horse) μέλας (black), καὶ (and) ὁ (the one) καθήμενος (sitting) ἐπ’ (on) αὐτὸν (it) ἔχων (having) ζυγὸν (a pair of scales) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) χειρὶ (hand) αὐτοῦ (of him).

⁷ Καὶ (And) ὅτε (when) ἤνοιξεν (He opened) τὴν (the) σφραγῖδα (seal) τὴν (-) τετάρτην (fourth), ἤκουσα (I heard) φωνὴν (the voice) τοῦ (of the) τετάρτου (fourth) ζῴου (living creature) λέγοντος (saying), “Ἔρχου (Come)!”

³ καὶ (And) ἔκραξεν (he cried out) φωνῇ (in a voice) μεγάλῃ (loud) ὥσπερ (as) λέων (a lion) μυκᾶται (roars). καὶ (And) ὅτε (when) ἔκραξεν (he cried out), ἐλάλησαν (sounded) αἱ (the) ἑπτὰ (seven) βρονταὶ (thunders), τὰς (the) ἑαυτῶν (of themselves) φωνάς (voice). ⁴ Καὶ (And) ὅτε (when) ἐλάλησαν (had spoken) αἱ (the) ἑπτὰ (seven) βρονταί (thunders), ἤμελλον (I was about) γράφειν (to write). καὶ (But) ἤκουσα (I heard) φωνὴν (a voice) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (-) οὐρανοῦ (heaven), λέγουσαν (saying), “Σφράγισον (Seal) ἃ (what) ἐλάλησαν (have spoken) αἱ (the) ἑπτὰ (seven) βρονταί (thunders), καὶ (and) μὴ (not) αὐτὰ (them) γράψῃς (write).”

¹⁹ Καὶ (And) ἠνοίγη (was opened) ὁ (the) ναὸς (temple) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ὁ (-) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) οὐρανῷ (heaven), καὶ (and) ὤφθη (was seen) ἡ (the) κιβωτὸς (ark) τῆς (of the) διαθήκης (covenant) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ναῷ (temple) αὐτοῦ (of Him). καὶ (And) ἐγένοντο (there were) ἀστραπαὶ (flashes of lightning), καὶ (and) φωναὶ (voices), καὶ (and) βρονταὶ (thunders), καὶ (and) σεισμὸς (an earthquake), καὶ (and) χάλαζα (hail) μεγάλη (great).

² καὶ (And) ἤκουσα (I heard) φωνὴν (a voice) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (-) οὐρανοῦ (heaven), ὡς (as) φωνὴν (the sound) ὑδάτων (of waters) πολλῶν (many), καὶ (and) ὡς (as) φωνὴν (the sound) βροντῆς (of thunder) μεγάλης (loud). καὶ (And) ἡ (the) φωνὴ (voice) ἣν (that) ἤκουσα (I heard), ὡς (was like that) κιθαρῳδῶν (of harpists) κιθαριζόντων (harping) ἐν (with) ταῖς (the) κιθάραις (harps) αὐτῶν (of them).

⁶ Καὶ (And) ἤκουσα (I heard) ὡς (something like) φωνὴν (the voice) ὄχλου (of a multitude) πολλοῦ (great), καὶ (and) ὡς (like) φωνὴν (the sound) ὑδάτων (of waters) πολλῶν (many), καὶ (and) ὡς (like) φωνὴν (a sound) βροντῶν (of thunders) ἰσχυρῶν (mighty), λεγόντων (saying): “Ἁλληλουϊά (Hallelujah)! ὅτι (For) ἐβασίλευσεν (has reigned) Κύριος (the Lord) ὁ (-) Θεός (God) ἡμῶν (of us) ὁ (the) Παντοκράτωρ (Almighty).
