⁷ Ἰδοὺ (Behold), ἔρχεται (He is coming) μετὰ (with) τῶν (the) νεφελῶν (clouds), καὶ (and) ὄψεται (will see) αὐτὸν (Him) πᾶς (every) ὀφθαλμὸς (eye), καὶ (and) οἵτινες (those who) αὐτὸν (Him) ἐξεκέντησαν (pierced), καὶ (and) κόψονται (will wail) ἐπ’ (because of) αὐτὸν (Him) πᾶσαι (all) αἱ (the) φυλαὶ (tribes) τῆς (of the) γῆς (earth). ναί (Yes)! ἀμήν (Amen)!

³⁰ Καὶ (And) τότε (then) φανήσεται (will appear) τὸ (the) σημεῖον (sign) τοῦ (of the) Υἱοῦ (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man) ἐν (in) ‹τῷ› (-) οὐρανῷ (heaven), καὶ (and) τότε (then) κόψονται (will mourn) πᾶσαι (all) αἱ (the) φυλαὶ (tribes) τῆς (of the) γῆς (earth), καὶ (and) ὄψονται (they will see) τὸν (the) Υἱὸν (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man) ἐρχόμενον (coming) ἐπὶ (on) τῶν (the) νεφελῶν (clouds) τοῦ (-) οὐρανοῦ (of heaven) μετὰ (with) δυνάμεως (power) καὶ (and) δόξης (glory) πολλῆς (great).

⁶⁴ Λέγει (Says) αὐτῷ (to him) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Σὺ (You) εἶπας (have said). πλὴν (But) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you), ἀπ’ (from) ἄρτι (now) ὄψεσθε (you will see) τὸν (the) Υἱὸν (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man) καθήμενον (sitting) ἐκ (at) δεξιῶν (the right hand) τῆς (-) δυνάμεως (of Power) καὶ (and) ἐρχόμενον (coming) ἐπὶ (upon) τῶν (the) νεφελῶν (clouds) τοῦ (-) οὐρανοῦ (of heaven).”

²⁶ Καὶ (And) τότε (then) ὄψονται (will they see) τὸν (the) Υἱὸν (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man) ἐρχόμενον (coming) ἐν (in) νεφέλαις (the clouds), μετὰ (with) δυνάμεως (power) πολλῆς (great) καὶ (and) δόξης (glory).

⁶² Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) εἶπεν (said), “Ἐγώ (I) εἰμι (am). καὶ (And) ὄψεσθε (you will see) τὸν (the) Υἱὸν (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man) ἐκ (at the) δεξιῶν (right hand) καθήμενον (sitting) τῆς (of) δυνάμεως (Power), καὶ (and) ἐρχόμενον (coming) μετὰ (with) τῶν (the) νεφελῶν (clouds) τοῦ (of) οὐρανοῦ (heaven).”

²⁷ καὶ (And) τότε (then) ὄψονται (will they see) τὸν (the) Υἱὸν (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man) ἐρχόμενον (coming) ἐν (in) νεφέλῃ (a cloud), μετὰ (with) δυνάμεως (power) καὶ (and) δόξης (glory) πολλῆς (great).

²⁸ στραφεὶς (Having turned) δὲ (then) πρὸς (to) αὐτὰς (them), ‹ὁ› (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) εἶπεν (said), “Θυγατέρες (Daughters) Ἰερουσαλήμ (of Jerusalem), μὴ (not) κλαίετε (weep) ἐπ’ (for) ἐμέ (Me), πλὴν (but) ἐφ’ (for) ἑαυτὰς (yourselves) κλαίετε (weep), καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (for) τὰ (the) τέκνα (children) ὑμῶν (of you). ²⁹ ὅτι (For) ἰδοὺ (behold), ἔρχονται (are coming) ἡμέραι (days) ἐν (in) αἷς (which) ἐροῦσιν (they will say), ‘Μακάριαι (Blessed are) αἱ (the) στεῖραι (barren), καὶ (and) αἱ (the) κοιλίαι (wombs) αἳ (that) οὐκ (never) ἐγέννησαν (did bear), καὶ (and) μαστοὶ (breasts) οἳ (that) οὐκ (never) ἔθρεψαν (nursed).’ ³⁰ τότε (Then) ‘Ἄρξονται (They will begin) λέγειν (to say) τοῖς (to the) ὄρεσιν (mountains), “Πέσετε* (Fall) ἐφ’ (upon) ἡμᾶς (us),” Καὶ (and) τοῖς (to the) βουνοῖς (hills), “Καλύψατε (Cover) ἡμᾶς (us).”’

³⁴ ἀλλ’ (But) εἷς (one) τῶν (of the) στρατιωτῶν (soldiers) λόγχῃ (with a spear) αὐτοῦ (His) τὴν (-) πλευρὰν (side) ἔνυξεν (pierced), καὶ (and) ἐξῆλθεν (came out) εὐθὺς (immediately) αἷμα (blood) καὶ (and) ὕδωρ (water).

³⁷ καὶ (And) πάλιν (again), ἑτέρα (another) γραφὴ (Scripture) λέγει (says): “Ὄψονται (They will look) εἰς (on) ὃν (the One) ἐξεκέντησαν (they have pierced).”

⁹ Καὶ (And) ταῦτα (these things) εἰπὼν (having said), βλεπόντων (beholding) αὐτῶν (they), ἐπήρθη (He was taken up), καὶ (and) νεφέλη (a cloud) ὑπέλαβεν (hid) αὐτὸν (Him) ἀπὸ (from) τῶν (the) ὀφθαλμῶν (eyes) αὐτῶν (of them). ¹⁰ καὶ (And) ὡς (as) ἀτενίζοντες (looking intently) ἦσαν (they were) εἰς (into) τὸν (the) οὐρανὸν (heaven) πορευομένου (as was going) αὐτοῦ (He), καὶ (then) ἰδοὺ (behold) ἄνδρες (men) δύο (two) παρειστήκεισαν (stood by) αὐτοῖς (them) ἐν (in) ἐσθήσεσι (apparel) λευκαῖς (white), ¹¹ οἳ (who) καὶ (also) εἶπαν (said), “Ἄνδρες (Men), Γαλιλαῖοι (Galileans), τί (why) ἑστήκατε (do you stand) βλέποντες (looking) εἰς (into) τὸν (-) οὐρανόν (heaven)? οὗτος (This) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), ὁ (-) ἀναλημφθεὶς (having been taken up) ἀφ’ (from) ὑμῶν (you) εἰς (into) τὸν (-) οὐρανὸν (heaven), οὕτως (thus) ἐλεύσεται (will come) ὃν (in that) τρόπον (manner) ἐθεάσασθε (you beheld) αὐτὸν (Him) πορευόμενον (going) εἰς (into) τὸν (-) οὐρανόν (heaven).”

¹⁰ καὶ (and) ἀναμένειν (to await) τὸν (the) Υἱὸν (Son) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἐκ (from) τῶν (the) οὐρανῶν (heavens), ὃν (whom) ἤγειρεν (He raised) ἐκ (out from) τῶν (the) νεκρῶν (dead), Ἰησοῦν (Jesus), τὸν (the one) ῥυόμενον (delivering) ἡμᾶς (us) ἐκ (from) τῆς (the) ὀργῆς (wrath) τῆς (-) ἐρχομένης (coming).

¹⁷ ἔπειτα (Then) ἡμεῖς (we) οἱ (the) ζῶντες (living) οἱ (-) περιλειπόμενοι (remaining), ἅμα (together) σὺν (with) αὐτοῖς (them), ἁρπαγησόμεθα (will be caught away) ἐν (in) νεφέλαις (the clouds) εἰς (for) ἀπάντησιν (the meeting) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) εἰς (in) ἀέρα (the air); καὶ (and) οὕτως (so) πάντοτε (always) σὺν (with) Κυρίῳ (the Lord) ἐσόμεθα (we will be).

⁶ καὶ (and then) παραπεσόντας (having fallen away) — πάλιν (again) ἀνακαινίζειν (to restore them) εἰς (to) μετάνοιαν (repentance), ἀνασταυροῦντας (crucifying) ἑαυτοῖς (in themselves) τὸν (the) Υἱὸν (Son) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) καὶ (and) παραδειγματίζοντας (subjecting Him to open shame).

²⁹ πόσῳ (How much) δοκεῖτε (think you) χείρονος (worse) ἀξιωθήσεται (will he deserve) τιμωρίας (punishment), ὁ (the one) τὸν (the) Υἱὸν (Son) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) καταπατήσας (having trampled upon), καὶ (and) τὸ (the) αἷμα (blood) τῆς (of the) διαθήκης (covenant) κοινὸν (ordinary) ἡγησάμενος (having esteemed), ἐν (by) ᾧ (which) ἡγιάσθη (he was sanctified), καὶ (and) τὸ (the) Πνεῦμα (Spirit) τῆς (-) χάριτος (of grace) ἐνυβρίσας (having insulted)?

² Ἀγαπητοί (Beloved), νῦν (now) τέκνα (children) Θεοῦ (of God) ἐσμεν (are we), καὶ (and) οὔπω (not yet) ἐφανερώθη (has been revealed) τί (what) ἐσόμεθα (we will be). οἴδαμεν (We know) ὅτι (that) ἐὰν (when) φανερωθῇ (He appears), ὅμοιοι (like) αὐτῷ (Him) ἐσόμεθα (we will be), ὅτι (for) ὀψόμεθα (we will see) αὐτὸν (Him) καθώς (as) ἐστιν (He is).

¹⁴ Προεφήτευσεν* (Prophesied) δὲ (then) καὶ (also) τούτοις (as to these) ἕβδομος (the seventh) ἀπὸ (from) Ἀδὰμ (Adam), Ἑνὼχ (Enoch), λέγων (saying): “Ἰδοὺ (Behold), ἦλθεν (has come) Κύριος (the Lord) ἐν (amidst) ἁγίαις (holy ones) μυριάσιν (myriads) αὐτοῦ (of His),

¹⁵ Καὶ (And) οἱ (the) βασιλεῖς (kings) τῆς (of the) γῆς (earth), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) μεγιστᾶνες (great ones), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) χιλίαρχοι (commanders), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) πλούσιοι (rich), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) ἰσχυροὶ (powerful), καὶ (and) πᾶς (every) δοῦλος (slave) καὶ (and) ἐλεύθερος (free), ἔκρυψαν (hid) ἑαυτοὺς (themselves) εἰς (in) τὰ (the) σπήλαια (caves), καὶ (and) εἰς (among) τὰς (the) πέτρας (rocks) τῶν (of the) ὀρέων (mountains). ¹⁶ καὶ (And) λέγουσιν (they say) τοῖς (to the) ὄρεσιν (mountains) καὶ (and) ταῖς (to the) πέτραις (rocks), “Πέσετε (Fall) ἐφ’ (on) ἡμᾶς (us) καὶ (and) κρύψατε (hide) ἡμᾶς (us) ἀπὸ (from) προσώπου (the face) τοῦ (of the One) καθημένου (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne), καὶ (and) ἀπὸ (from) τῆς (the) ὀργῆς (wrath) τοῦ (of the) Ἀρνίου (Lamb), ¹⁷ ὅτι (because) ἦλθεν (has come) ἡ (the) ἡμέρα (day) ἡ (-) μεγάλη (great) τῆς (of the) ὀργῆς (wrath) αὐτῶν (of Them), καὶ (and) τίς (who) δύναται (is able) σταθῆναι (to stand)?”

¹⁴ Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I looked), καὶ (and) ἰδοὺ (behold), νεφέλη (a cloud) λευκή (white), καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (upon) τὴν (the) νεφέλην (cloud) καθήμενον (is sitting One) ὅμοιον (like) υἱὸν (the Son) ἀνθρώπου (of Man), ἔχων (having) ἐπὶ (on) τῆς (the) κεφαλῆς (head) αὐτοῦ (of Him) στέφανον (a crown) χρυσοῦν (golden), καὶ (and) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) χειρὶ (hand) αὐτοῦ (of Him) δρέπανον (a sickle) ὀξύ (sharp). ¹⁵ Καὶ (And) ἄλλος (another) ἄγγελος (angel) ἐξῆλθεν (came out) ἐκ (of) τοῦ (the) ναοῦ (temple), κράζων (crying) ἐν (in) φωνῇ (a voice) μεγάλῃ (loud) τῷ (to the One) καθημένῳ (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τῆς (the) νεφέλης (cloud), “Πέμψον (Put forth) τὸ (the) δρέπανόν (sickle) σου (of You) καὶ (and) θέρισον (reap), ὅτι (because) ἦλθεν (has come) ἡ (the) ὥρα (hour) θερίσαι (to reap), ὅτι (because) ἐξηράνθη (has ripened) ὁ (the) θερισμὸς (harvest) τῆς (of the) γῆς (earth).” ¹⁶ καὶ (And) ἔβαλεν (swung) ὁ (the One) καθήμενος (sitting) ἐπὶ (upon) τῆς (the) νεφέλης (cloud) τὸ (the) δρέπανον (sickle) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἐπὶ (upon) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth), καὶ (and) ἐθερίσθη (was harvested) ἡ (the) γῆ (earth).

¹⁵ Οἱ (The) ἔμποροι (merchants) τούτων (of these things) οἱ (-) πλουτήσαντες (having been enriched) ἀπ’ (from) αὐτῆς (her), ἀπὸ (from) μακρόθεν (afar) στήσονται (will stand), διὰ (because of) τὸν (the) φόβον (fear) τοῦ (of the) βασανισμοῦ (torment) αὐτῆς (of her), κλαίοντες (weeping) καὶ (and) πενθοῦντες (mourning), ¹⁶ λέγοντες (saying): “Οὐαὶ (Woe), οὐαί (woe), ἡ (the) πόλις (city) ἡ (-) μεγάλη (great), ἡ (-) περιβεβλημένη (having been clothed with) βύσσινον (fine linen) καὶ (and) πορφυροῦν (purple) καὶ (and) κόκκινον (scarlet), καὶ (and) κεχρυσωμένη (having been adorned) ἐν (with) χρυσίῳ (gold) καὶ (and) λίθῳ (stone) τιμίῳ (precious) καὶ (and) μαργαρίτῃ (pearl)! ¹⁷ ὅτι (For in) μιᾷ (one) ὥρᾳ (hour) ἠρημώθη (has been brought to desolation) ὁ (-) τοσοῦτος (such great) πλοῦτος (wealth).” Καὶ (And) πᾶς (every) κυβερνήτης (shipmaster), καὶ (and) πᾶς (all) ὁ (those) ἐπὶ (to) τόπον (a place) πλέων (sailing), καὶ (and) ναῦται (sailors), καὶ (and) ὅσοι (as many as) τὴν (the) θάλασσαν (sea) ἐργάζονται (trade by), ἀπὸ (at) μακρόθεν (a distance) ἔστησαν (stood), ¹⁸ καὶ (and) ἔκραζον (were crying out), βλέποντες (seeing) τὸν (the) καπνὸν (smoke) τῆς (of the) πυρώσεως (burning) αὐτῆς (of her), λέγοντες (saying), ‘Τίς (What is) ὁμοία (like) τῇ (the) πόλει (city) τῇ (-) μεγάλῃ (great)?’ ¹⁹ Καὶ (And) ἔβαλον (they cast) χοῦν (dust) ἐπὶ (upon) τὰς (the) κεφαλὰς (heads) αὐτῶν (of them), καὶ (and) ἔκραζον (they were crying out), κλαίοντες (weeping) καὶ (and) πενθοῦντες (mourning), λέγοντες (saying): “Οὐαὶ (Woe), οὐαί (woe), ἡ (the) πόλις (city) ἡ (-) μεγάλη (great), ἐν (in) ᾗ (which) ἐπλούτησαν (were enriched) πάντες (all) οἱ (those) ἔχοντες (having) τὰ (-) πλοῖα (ships) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) θαλάσσῃ (sea) ἐκ (through) τῆς (the) τιμιότητος (wealth) αὐτῆς (of her)! ὅτι (For) μιᾷ (in one) ὥρᾳ (hour) ἠρημώθη (she has been brought to desolation).” ²⁰ “Εὐφραίνου (Rejoice) ἐπ’ (over) αὐτῇ (her), οὐρανέ (O heaven), καὶ (and) οἱ (-) ἅγιοι (you saints), καὶ (and) οἱ (-) ἀπόστολοι (apostles), καὶ (and) οἱ (-) προφῆται (prophets), ὅτι (because) ἔκρινεν (did judge) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) τὸ (the) κρίμα (judgment) ὑμῶν (for you) ἐξ (against) αὐτῆς (her).”

¹ Μετὰ (After) ταῦτα (these things) ἤκουσα (I heard) ὡς (something like) φωνὴν (a voice) μεγάλην (loud) ὄχλου (of a multitude) πολλοῦ (great) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) οὐρανῷ (heaven), λεγόντων (crying out): “Ἁλληλουϊά (Hallelujah)! ἡ (The) σωτηρία (salvation) καὶ (and) ἡ (the) δόξα (glory) καὶ (and) ἡ (the) δύναμις (power) τοῦ (to the) Θεοῦ (God) ἡμῶν (of us)! ² ὅτι (For) ἀληθιναὶ (true) καὶ (and) δίκαιαι (righteous are) αἱ (the) κρίσεις (judgments) αὐτοῦ (of Him), ὅτι (because) ἔκρινεν (He has judged) τὴν (the) πόρνην (prostitute) τὴν (-) μεγάλην (great), ἥτις (who) ἔφθειρεν (had corrupted) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth) ἐν (with) τῇ (the) πορνείᾳ (sexual immorality) αὐτῆς (of her), καὶ (and) ἐξεδίκησεν (He has avenged) τὸ (the) αἷμα (blood) τῶν (of the) δούλων (servants) αὐτοῦ (of Him), ἐκ (out of) χειρὸς (the hand) αὐτῆς (of her).” ³ Καὶ (And) δεύτερον (a second time) εἴρηκαν (they said): “Ἁλληλουϊά (Hallelujah)! καὶ (And) ὁ (the) καπνὸς (smoke) αὐτῆς (of her) ἀναβαίνει (goes up) εἰς (to) τοὺς (the) αἰῶνας (ages) τῶν (of the) αἰώνων (ages).”

⁴ καὶ (And) ὄψονται (they will see) τὸ (the) πρόσωπον (face) αὐτοῦ (of Him), καὶ (and) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἐπὶ (will be on) τῶν (the) μετώπων (foreheads) αὐτῶν (of them).

²⁰ Λέγει (Says) ὁ (the One) μαρτυρῶν (testifying) ταῦτα (these things), “Ναί (Yes), ἔρχομαι (I am coming) ταχύ (quickly).” Ἀμήν (Amen). ἔρχου (Come), Κύριε (Lord) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus)!
