²⁵ Διὰ (Because of) τοῦτο (this) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you), μὴ (not) μεριμνᾶτε (be anxious about) τῇ (the) ψυχῇ (life) ὑμῶν (of you), τί (what) φάγητε (you should eat) ἢ (or) τί (what) πίητε (you should drink); μηδὲ (nor) τῷ (the) σώματι (body) ὑμῶν (of you), τί (what) ἐνδύσησθε (you should put on). οὐχὶ (Not) ἡ (the) ψυχὴ (life) πλεῖόν (more) ἐστιν (is) τῆς (than the) τροφῆς (food), καὶ (and) τὸ (the) σῶμα (body) τοῦ (than) ἐνδύματος (clothing)?

²⁷ ὃ (What) λέγω (I tell) ὑμῖν (you) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) σκοτίᾳ (darkness), εἴπατε (speak) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) φωτί (light); καὶ (and) ὃ (what) εἰς (in) τὸ (the) οὖς (ear) ἀκούετε (you hear), κηρύξατε (proclaim) ἐπὶ (upon) τῶν (the) δωμάτων (housetops)!

¹⁵ ὁ (the one) [δὲ] (and) ἐπὶ (upon) τοῦ (the) δώματος (housetop), μὴ (not) καταβάτω (let him come down), μηδὲ (nor) εἰσελθάτω (go in) τι (anything) ἆραι (to take) ἐκ (out of) τῆς (the) οἰκίας (house) αὐτοῦ (of him); ¹⁶ καὶ (and) ὁ (the one) εἰς (in) τὸν (the) ἀγρὸν (field), μὴ (not) ἐπιστρεψάτω (let him return) εἰς (to) τὰ (the things) ὀπίσω (behind), ἆραι (to take) τὸ (the) ἱμάτιον (clothing) αὐτοῦ (of him).

¹⁹ καὶ (And) μὴ (not) εὑρόντες (having found) ποίας (what way) εἰσενέγκωσιν (they should bring in) αὐτὸν (him) διὰ (on account of) τὸν (the) ὄχλον (crowd), ἀναβάντες (having gone up) ἐπὶ (on) τὸ (the) δῶμα (housetop), διὰ (through) τῶν (the) κεράμων (tiles) καθῆκαν (they let down) αὐτὸν (him), σὺν (with) τῷ (the) κλινιδίῳ (mat) εἰς (into) τὸ (the) μέσον (midst) ἔμπροσθεν (before) τοῦ (-) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus).

³ ἀνθ’ (Instead), ὧν (that) ὅσα (whatever) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) σκοτίᾳ (darkness) εἴπατε (you have said), ἐν (in) τῷ (the) φωτὶ (light) ἀκουσθήσεται (will be heard); καὶ (and) ὃ (what) πρὸς (into) τὸ (the) οὖς (ear) ἐλαλήσατε (you have spoken) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) ταμείοις (inner rooms) κηρυχθήσεται (will be proclaimed) ἐπὶ (upon) τῶν (the) δωμάτων (housetops).

³¹ ἐν (In) ἐκείνῃ (that) τῇ (-) ἡμέρᾳ (day), ὃς (the one who) ἔσται (will be) ἐπὶ (on) τοῦ (the) δώματος (housetop), καὶ (and) τὰ (the) σκεύη (goods) αὐτοῦ (of him) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) οἰκίᾳ (house), μὴ (not) καταβάτω (let him come down) ἆραι (to take away) αὐτά (them); καὶ (and) ὁ (the one) ἐν (in) ἀγρῷ (the field), ὁμοίως (likewise) μὴ (not) ἐπιστρεψάτω (let him return) εἰς (to) τὰ (the things) ὀπίσω (behind). ³² μνημονεύετε (Remember) τῆς (the) γυναικὸς (wife) Λώτ (of Lot)! ³³ ὃς (Whoever) ἐὰν (if) ζητήσῃ (may seek) τὴν (the) ψυχὴν (life) αὐτοῦ (of him) περιποιήσασθαι (to save), ἀπολέσει (will lose) αὐτήν (it); ὃς (whoever) δ’* (also) ἂν (-) ἀπολέσῃ* (will lose it), ζωογονήσει (will preserve) αὐτήν (it).

⁹ Τῇ (On the) δὲ (now) ἐπαύριον (next day), ὁδοιπορούντων (as are journeying) ἐκείνων (these) καὶ (and) τῇ (the) πόλει (city) ἐγγιζόντων (approaching), ἀνέβη (went up) Πέτρος (Peter) ἐπὶ (on) τὸ (the) δῶμα (housetop) προσεύξασθαι (to pray), περὶ (about) ὥραν (hour) ἕκτην (the sixth).
