¹¹ καὶ (And) λέγει (He says) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Ὃς (Whoever) ἂν (-) ἀπολύσῃ (shall divorce) τὴν (the) γυναῖκα (wife) αὐτοῦ (of him), καὶ (and) γαμήσῃ (shall marry) ἄλλην (another), μοιχᾶται (commits adultery) ἐπ’ (against) αὐτήν (her).

³¹ Ἐρρέθη (It was said) δέ (also), ‘Ὃς (Whoever) ἂν (-) ἀπολύσῃ (shall divorce) τὴν (the) γυναῖκα (wife) αὐτοῦ (of him), δότω (let him give) αὐτῇ (to her) ἀποστάσιον (a letter of divorce).’ ³² ἐγὼ (I) δὲ (however) λέγω (say) ὑμῖν (to you) ὅτι (that) πᾶς (everyone) ὁ (-) ἀπολύων (divorcing) τὴν (the) γυναῖκα (wife) αὐτοῦ (of him), παρεκτὸς (except) λόγου (on account) πορνείας (of sexual immorality), ποιεῖ (causes) αὐτὴν (her) μοιχευθῆναι (to commit adultery). καὶ (And) ὃς (whoever) ἐὰν (if) ἀπολελυμένην (her having been divorced) γαμήσῃ (shall marry), μοιχᾶται (commits adultery).

⁹ λέγω (I say) δὲ (now) ὑμῖν (to you) ὅτι (that) ὃς (whoever) ἂν (-) ἀπολύσῃ (shall divorce) τὴν (-) γυναῖκα (wife) αὐτοῦ (of him) μὴ (except) ἐπὶ (for) πορνείᾳ (sexual immorality), καὶ (and) γαμήσῃ (shall marry) ἄλλην (another), μοιχᾶται (commits adultery).”

¹⁸ Πᾶς (Everyone) ὁ (-) ἀπολύων (putting away) τὴν (the) γυναῖκα (wife) αὐτοῦ (of him) καὶ (and) γαμῶν (marrying) ἑτέραν (another) μοιχεύει (commits adultery). καὶ (And) ὁ (the one) ἀπολελυμένην (her put away) ἀπὸ (from) ἀνδρὸς (a husband) γαμῶν (marrying) μοιχεύει (commits adultery).

³ ἄρα (Then) οὖν (therefore), ζῶντος (being alive) τοῦ (the) ἀνδρὸς (husband), μοιχαλὶς (an adulteress) χρηματίσει (she will be called) ἐὰν (if) γένηται (she is) ἀνδρὶ (to man) ἑτέρῳ (another); ἐὰν (if) δὲ (however) ἀποθάνῃ (should die) ὁ (the) ἀνήρ (husband), ἐλευθέρα (free) ἐστὶν (she is) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (the) νόμου (law), τοῦ (so as for) μὴ (not) εἶναι (to be) αὐτὴν (her) μοιχαλίδα (an adulteress), γενομένην (having been) ἀνδρὶ (to man) ἑτέρῳ (another). ⁴ ἡ (The) γυνὴ (wife), τοῦ (the) ἰδίου (own) σώματος (body) οὐκ (not) ἐξουσιάζει (has authority over), ἀλλὰ (but) ὁ (the) ἀνήρ (husband); ὁμοίως (likewise) δὲ (now), καὶ (also) ὁ (the) ἀνὴρ (husband) τοῦ (of the) ἰδίου (own) σώματος (body) οὐκ (not) ἐξουσιάζει (has authority over), ἀλλὰ (but) ἡ (the) γυνή (wife).

¹⁰ Τοῖς (To those) δὲ (now) γεγαμηκόσιν (having married) παραγγέλλω (I give this charge)— οὐκ (not) ἐγὼ (I), ἀλλὰ (but) ὁ (the) Κύριος (Lord)— γυναῖκα (A wife) ἀπὸ (from) ἀνδρὸς (a husband) μὴ (not) χωρισθῆναι (is to be separated); ¹¹ ἐὰν (if) δὲ (however) καὶ (indeed) χωρισθῇ (she is separated), μενέτω (let her remain) ἄγαμος (unmarried), ἢ (or) τῷ (to the) ἀνδρὶ (husband) καταλλαγήτω (be reconciled); καὶ (and) ἄνδρα (a husband) γυναῖκα (a wife) μὴ (not) ἀφιέναι (is to send away).

⁴ Τίμιος (Honorable let) ὁ (-) γάμος (marriage be) ἐν (in) πᾶσιν (all), καὶ (and) ἡ (the) κοίτη (marriage bed) ἀμίαντος (undefiled); πόρνους (the sexually immoral) γὰρ (for) καὶ (and) μοιχοὺς (adulterers) κρινεῖ (will judge) ὁ (-) Θεός (God).
