³⁶ Ταῦτα (These things) δὲ (now) αὐτῶν (of them) λαλούντων (as they were telling), αὐτὸς (He Himself) ἔστη (stood) ἐν (in) μέσῳ (midst) αὐτῶν (of them) καὶ (and) λέγει (says) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Εἰρήνη (Peace) ὑμῖν (to you).”

¹³ καὶ (And) ἐὰν (if) μὲν (indeed) ᾖ (be) ἡ (the) οἰκία (house) ἀξία (worthy), ἐλθάτω (let come) ἡ (the) εἰρήνη (peace) ὑμῶν (of you) ἐπ’ (upon) αὐτήν (it); ἐὰν (if) δὲ (however) μὴ (not) ᾖ (it be) ἀξία (worthy), ἡ (the) εἰρήνη (peace) ὑμῶν (of you) πρὸς (to) ὑμᾶς (you) ἐπιστραφήτω (let return).

¹⁴ Ὕστερον (Afterward) δὲ (now) ἀνακειμένοις (were reclining) αὐτοῖς (they); τοῖς (to the) ἕνδεκα (eleven) ἐφανερώθη (He appeared) καὶ (and) ὠνείδισεν (rebuked) τὴν (the) ἀπιστίαν (unbelief) αὐτῶν (of them) καὶ (and) σκληροκαρδίαν (hardness of heart), ὅτι (because) τοῖς (those) θεασαμένοις (having seen) αὐτὸν (Him) ἐγηγερμένον (arisen) οὐκ (not) ἐπίστευσαν (they believed).

⁵ Εἰς (Into) ἣν (whatever) δ’ (now) ἂν (-) εἰσέλθητε (you might enter) οἰκίαν (house), πρῶτον (first) λέγετε (say) ‘Εἰρήνη (Peace) τῷ (to the) οἴκῳ (house) τούτῳ (this).’

²⁷ Εἰρήνην (Peace) ἀφίημι (I leave) ὑμῖν (with you); εἰρήνην (peace) τὴν (-) ἐμὴν (My) δίδωμι (I give) ὑμῖν (to you); οὐ (not) καθὼς (as) ὁ (the) κόσμος (world) δίδωσιν (gives), ἐγὼ (I) δίδωμι (give) ὑμῖν (to you). μὴ (Not) ταρασσέσθω (let be troubled) ὑμῶν (of you) ἡ (the) καρδία (heart), μηδὲ (nor) δειλιάτω (let it fear).

³³ ταῦτα (These things) λελάληκα (I have spoken) ὑμῖν (to you) ἵνα (so that) ἐν (in) ἐμοὶ (Me) εἰρήνην (peace) ἔχητε (you may have). ἐν (In) τῷ (the) κόσμῳ (world) θλῖψιν (tribulation) ἔχετε (you have). ἀλλὰ (But) θαρσεῖτε (take courage); ἐγὼ (I) νενίκηκα (have overcome) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world).”

¹⁹ Οὔσης (It being) οὖν (therefore) ὀψίας (evening) τῇ (the) ἡμέρᾳ (day) ἐκείνῃ (same), τῇ (the) μιᾷ (first) σαββάτων (of the week), καὶ (and) τῶν (the) θυρῶν (doors) κεκλεισμένων (having been shut), ὅπου (where) ἦσαν (were) οἱ (the) μαθηταὶ (disciples) διὰ (through) τὸν (the) φόβον (fear) τῶν (of the) Ἰουδαίων (Jews), ἦλθεν (came) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) καὶ (and) ἔστη (stood) εἰς (in) τὸ (the) μέσον (midst), καὶ (and) λέγει (He says) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Εἰρήνη (Peace) ὑμῖν (to you).” ²⁰ καὶ (And) τοῦτο (this) εἰπὼν (having said), ἔδειξεν (He showed) 〈καὶ〉 (both) τὰς (His) χεῖρας (hands) καὶ (and) τὴν (His) πλευρὰν (side) αὐτοῖς (to them). Ἐχάρησαν (Rejoiced) οὖν (then) οἱ (the) μαθηταὶ (disciples), ἰδόντες (having seen) τὸν (the) Κύριον (Lord). ²¹ Εἶπεν (Said) οὖν (therefore) αὐτοῖς (to them) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) πάλιν (again), “Εἰρήνη (Peace) ὑμῖν (to you); καθὼς (as) ἀπέσταλκέν (has sent forth) με (me) ὁ (the) Πατήρ (Father), κἀγὼ (I also) πέμπω (send) ὑμᾶς (you).” ²² καὶ (And) τοῦτο (this) εἰπὼν (having said), ἐνεφύσησεν (He breathed on them), καὶ (and) λέγει (He says) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Λάβετε (Receive) Πνεῦμα (the Spirit) Ἅγιον (Holy). ²³ ἄν (If) τινων (of any), ἀφῆτε (you might forgive) τὰς (the) ἁμαρτίας (sins), ἀφέωνται (they are forgiven) αὐτοῖς (them); ἄν (If) τινων (any) κρατῆτε (you might retain), κεκράτηνται (they are retained).”

²⁶ Καὶ (And) μεθ’ (after) ἡμέρας (days) ὀκτὼ (eight) πάλιν (again) ἦσαν (were) ἔσω (inside) οἱ (the) μαθηταὶ (disciples) αὐτοῦ (of Him), καὶ (and) Θωμᾶς (Thomas) μετ’ (with) αὐτῶν (them). ἔρχεται (Comes) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), τῶν (the) θυρῶν (doors) κεκλεισμένων (having been shut). καὶ (And) ἔστη (He stood) εἰς (in) τὸ (the) μέσον (midst) καὶ (and) εἶπεν (said), “Εἰρήνη (Peace) ὑμῖν (to you).”

⁵ καὶ (and) ὅτι (that) ὤφθη (He appeared) Κηφᾷ (to Cephas), εἶτα (then) τοῖς (to the) δώδεκα (Twelve).

¹⁶ Αὐτὸς (Himself) δὲ (now) ὁ (the) Κύριος (Lord) τῆς (-) εἰρήνης (of peace) δῴη (may give) ὑμῖν (you) τὴν (-) εἰρήνην (peace) διὰ (through) παντὸς (all), ἐν (in) παντὶ (every) τρόπῳ (way). ὁ (The) Κύριος (Lord be) μετὰ (with) πάντων (all) ὑμῶν (of you).
