²⁷ καὶ (And) ἀρξάμενος (having begun) ἀπὸ (from) Μωϋσέως (Moses) καὶ (and) ἀπὸ (from) πάντων (all) τῶν (the) προφητῶν (Prophets), διερμήνευσεν (He interpreted) αὐτοῖς (to them) ἐν (in) πάσαις (all) ταῖς (the) γραφαῖς (Scriptures) τὰ (the things) περὶ (concerning) ἑαυτοῦ (Himself).

²⁵ Καὶ (And) αὐτὸς (He) εἶπεν (said) πρὸς (to) αὐτούς (them), “Ὦ (O) ἀνόητοι (foolish) καὶ (and) βραδεῖς (slow) τῇ (-) καρδίᾳ (of heart) τοῦ (-) πιστεύειν (to believe) ἐπὶ (in) πᾶσιν (all) οἷς (that) ἐλάλησαν (have spoken) οἱ (the) προφῆται (prophets).

⁴⁴ Εἶπεν (He said) δὲ (now) πρὸς (unto) αὐτούς (to them), “Οὗτοι (These are) οἱ (the) λόγοι (words) μου (of me), οὓς (which) ἐλάλησα (I spoke) πρὸς (to) ὑμᾶς (you) ἔτι (still) ὢν (being) σὺν (with) ὑμῖν (you), ὅτι (that) δεῖ (it behooves) πληρωθῆναι (to be fulfilled) πάντα (all things) τὰ (-) γεγραμμένα (having been written) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) νόμῳ (law) Μωϋσέως (of Moses), καὶ (and) τοῖς (the) προφήταις (Prophets) καὶ (and) ψαλμοῖς (the Psalms) περὶ (concerning) ἐμοῦ (Me).”

⁴⁵ Εὑρίσκει (Finds) Φίλιππος (Philip) τὸν (-) Ναθαναὴλ (Nathanael) καὶ (and) λέγει (says) αὐτῷ (to him), “Ὃν (Him whom) ἔγραψεν (wrote of) Μωϋσῆς (Moses) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) νόμῳ (Law), καὶ (also) οἱ (the) προφῆται (prophets), εὑρήκαμεν (we have found), Ἰησοῦν (Jesus) υἱὸν (son) τοῦ (-) Ἰωσὴφ (of Joseph), τὸν (-) ἀπὸ (of) Ναζαρέτ (Nazareth).”

³⁹ Ἐραυνᾶτε (You diligently search) τὰς (the) γραφάς (Scriptures), ὅτι (for) ὑμεῖς (you) δοκεῖτε (think) ἐν (in) αὐταῖς (them) ζωὴν (life) αἰώνιον (eternal) ἔχειν (to have); καὶ (and) ἐκεῖναί (these) εἰσιν (are they) αἱ (-) μαρτυροῦσαι (bearing witness) περὶ (concerning) ἐμοῦ (Me);

⁴⁵ Μὴ (Not) δοκεῖτε (think) ὅτι (that) ἐγὼ (I) κατηγορήσω (will accuse) ὑμῶν (you) πρὸς (to) τὸν (the) Πατέρα (Father). ἔστιν (There is) ὁ (one) κατηγορῶν (accusing) ὑμῶν (you), Μωϋσῆς (Moses), εἰς (in) ὃν (whom) ὑμεῖς (you) ἠλπίκατε (have hoped). ⁴⁶ εἰ (If) γὰρ (for) ἐπιστεύετε (you were believing) Μωϋσεῖ (Moses), ἐπιστεύετε (you would have believed) ἂν (-) ἐμοί (Me); περὶ (concerning) γὰρ (for) ἐμοῦ (Me) ἐκεῖνος (he) ἔγραψεν (wrote). ⁴⁷ εἰ (If) δὲ (now) τοῖς (-) ἐκείνου (his) γράμμασιν (writings) οὐ (not) πιστεύετε (you believe), πῶς (how) τοῖς (-) ἐμοῖς (My) ῥήμασιν (words) πιστεύσετε (will you believe)?”

²² Μωϋσῆς (Moses) μὲν (indeed) εἶπεν (said) ὅτι (-), ‘Προφήτην (A prophet) ὑμῖν (to you) ἀναστήσει (will raise up) Κύριος (the Lord) ὁ (the) Θεὸς (God) [ὑμῶν] (of you) ἐκ (out from) τῶν (the) ἀδελφῶν (brothers) ὑμῶν (of you), ὡς (like) ἐμέ (me); αὐτοῦ (Him) ἀκούσεσθε (You will listen to) κατὰ (in) πάντα (all things), ὅσα (as many as) ἂν (-) λαλήσῃ (He might say) πρὸς (to) ὑμᾶς (you).

²⁴ Καὶ (And) πάντες (all) δὲ (now) οἱ (the) προφῆται (prophets) ἀπὸ (from) Σαμουὴλ (Samuel), καὶ (and) τῶν (those) καθεξῆς (subsequently), ὅσοι (as many as) ἐλάλησαν (have spoken), καὶ (also) κατήγγειλαν (have announced) τὰς (the) ἡμέρας (days) ταύτας (these).

³⁷ Οὗτός (This) ἐστιν (is) ὁ (the) Μωϋσῆς (Moses) ὁ (-) εἴπας (having said) τοῖς (to the) υἱοῖς (sons) Ἰσραήλ (of Israel), ‘Προφήτην (A prophet) ὑμῖν (for you) ἀναστήσει (will raise up) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) ἐκ (out from) τῶν (the) ἀδελφῶν (brothers) ὑμῶν (of you), ὡς (like) ἐμέ (me).’

⁴³ τούτῳ (To Him) πάντες (all) οἱ (the) προφῆται (prophets) μαρτυροῦσιν (bear witness) ἄφεσιν (that forgiveness) ἁμαρτιῶν (of sins) λαβεῖν (receives) διὰ (through) τοῦ (the) ὀνόματος (name) αὐτοῦ (of Him) πάντα (everyone) τὸν (-) πιστεύοντα (believing) εἰς (in) αὐτόν (Him).”

²⁷ οἱ (Those) γὰρ (for) κατοικοῦντες (dwelling) ἐν (in) Ἰερουσαλὴμ (Jerusalem) καὶ (and) οἱ (the) ἄρχοντες (rulers) αὐτῶν (of them), τοῦτον (Him) ἀγνοήσαντες (not having known), καὶ (and) τὰς (the) φωνὰς (voices) τῶν (of the) προφητῶν (prophets) τὰς (that) κατὰ (on) πᾶν (every) σάββατον (Sabbath) ἀναγινωσκομένας (are being read), κρίναντες (having condemned Him) ἐπλήρωσαν (they fulfilled them). ²⁸ καὶ (And) μηδεμίαν (no) αἰτίαν (cause) θανάτου (of death) εὑρόντες (having found), ᾐτήσαντο (they begged) Πιλᾶτον (Pilate) ἀναιρεθῆναι (to put to death) αὐτόν (him). ²⁹ Ὡς (When) δὲ (then) ἐτέλεσαν (they had finished) πάντα (all) τὰ (the things) περὶ (about) αὐτοῦ (Him) γεγραμμένα (having been written), καθελόντες (having taken Him down) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (the) ξύλου (tree), ἔθηκαν (they put Him) εἰς (in) μνημεῖον (a tomb). ³⁰ ὁ (-) δὲ (But) Θεὸς (God) ἤγειρεν (raised) αὐτὸν (Him) ἐκ (out from) νεκρῶν (the dead),

¹⁰ Καὶ (And) ἔπεσα (I fell) ἔμπροσθεν (before) τῶν (the) ποδῶν (feet) αὐτοῦ (of him) προσκυνῆσαι (to worship) αὐτῷ (him). καὶ (And) λέγει (he says) μοι (to me), “Ὅρα (See that you) μή (not). σύνδουλός (A fellow servant) σού (with you) εἰμι (I am), καὶ (and) τῶν (the) ἀδελφῶν (brothers) σου (of you), τῶν (-) ἐχόντων (holding) τὴν (the) μαρτυρίαν (testimony) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus). τῷ (-) Θεῷ (God) προσκύνησον (worship)! ἡ (The) γὰρ (for) μαρτυρία (testimony) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus) ἐστιν (is) τὸ (the) πνεῦμα (spirit) τῆς (-) προφητείας (of prophecy).”
