¹⁶ λέγω (I say) γὰρ (for) ὑμῖν (to you) ὅτι (that) 〈οὐκέτι〉 (no longer) οὐ (never) μὴ (not) φάγω (will I eat) αὐτὸ (thereof), ἕως (until) ὅτου (when) πληρωθῇ (it is fulfilled) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) βασιλείᾳ (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).”

³⁷ μακάριοι (Blessed are) οἱ (the) δοῦλοι (servants) ἐκεῖνοι (those), οὓς (whom) ἐλθὼν (having come), ὁ (the) κύριος (master) εὑρήσει (will find) γρηγοροῦντας (watching). ἀμὴν (Truly) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you) ὅτι (that) περιζώσεται (he will gird himself) καὶ (and) ἀνακλινεῖ (will make recline) αὐτοὺς (them), καὶ (and) παρελθὼν (having come up), διακονήσει (will serve) αὐτοῖς (them).

¹⁵ Ἀκούσας (Having heard) δέ (then) τις (one) τῶν (of those) συνανακειμένων (reclining with Him) ταῦτα (these things), εἶπεν (he said) αὐτῷ (to Him), “Μακάριος (Blessed is he) ὅστις (who) φάγεται (will eat) ἄρτον (bread) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) βασιλείᾳ (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).”

³⁰ ἵνα (so that) ἔσθητε (you may eat) καὶ (and) πίνητε (may drink) ἐπὶ (at) τῆς (the) τραπέζης (table) μου (of Me) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) βασιλείᾳ (kingdom) μου (of Me), καὶ (and) καθήσεσθε (may sit) ἐπὶ (on) θρόνων (thrones), τὰς (the) δώδεκα (twelve) φυλὰς (tribes) κρίνοντες (judging) τοῦ (of) Ἰσραήλ (Israel).

²⁷ ἐργάζεσθε (Work) μὴ (not for) τὴν (the) βρῶσιν (food) τὴν (that) ἀπολλυμένην (is perishing), ἀλλὰ (but for) τὴν (the) βρῶσιν (food) τὴν (-) μένουσαν (enduring) εἰς (unto) ζωὴν (life) αἰώνιον (eternal), ἣν (which) ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man) ὑμῖν (to you) δώσει (will give). τοῦτον (Him) γὰρ (for) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father) ἐσφράγισεν (has sealed), ὁ (-) Θεός (God).”

⁵⁰ οὗτός (This) ἐστιν (is) ὁ (the) ἄρτος (bread) ὁ (-) ἐκ (from) τοῦ (-) οὐρανοῦ (heaven) καταβαίνων (coming down), ἵνα (that) τις (anyone) ἐξ (of) αὐτοῦ (it) φάγῃ (may eat), καὶ (and) μὴ (not) ἀποθάνῃ (die). ⁵¹ ἐγώ (I) εἰμι (am) ὁ (the) ἄρτος (bread) ὁ (-) ζῶν (living), ὁ (-) ἐκ (from) τοῦ (-) οὐρανοῦ (heaven) καταβάς (having come down); ἐάν (if) τις (anyone) φάγῃ (shall have eaten) ἐκ (of) τούτου (this) τοῦ (-) ἄρτου (bread), ζήσει (he will live) εἰς (to) τὸν (the) αἰῶνα (age); καὶ (and) ὁ (the) ἄρτος (bread) δὲ (also) ὃν (that) ἐγὼ (I) δώσω (will give), ἡ (the) σάρξ (flesh) μού (of Me) ἐστιν (is) ὑπὲρ (for) τῆς (the) τοῦ (of the) κόσμου (world) ζωῆς (life).” ⁵² Ἐμάχοντο (Were arguing) οὖν (therefore) πρὸς (with) ἀλλήλους (one another) οἱ (the) Ἰουδαῖοι (Jews), λέγοντες (saying), “Πῶς (How) δύναται (is able) οὗτος (this man) ἡμῖν (us) δοῦναι (to give) τὴν (the) σάρκα (flesh) ‹αὐτοῦ› (of Him) φαγεῖν (to eat)?” ⁵³ Εἶπεν (Said) οὖν (therefore) αὐτοῖς (to them) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Ἀμὴν (Truly), ἀμὴν (truly), λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you), ἐὰν (if) μὴ (not) φάγητε (you shall have eaten) τὴν (the) σάρκα (flesh) τοῦ (of the) Υἱοῦ (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man), καὶ (and) πίητε (shall have drunk) αὐτοῦ (of Him) τὸ (the) αἷμα (blood), οὐκ (not) ἔχετε (you have) ζωὴν (life) ἐν (in) ἑαυτοῖς (yourselves). ⁵⁴ ὁ (The one) τρώγων (eating) μου (of Me) τὴν (the) σάρκα (flesh), καὶ (and) πίνων (drinking) μου (of Me) τὸ (the) αἷμα (blood), ἔχει (has) ζωὴν (life) αἰώνιον (eternal), κἀγὼ (and I) ἀναστήσω (will raise up) αὐτὸν (him) τῇ (in the) ἐσχάτῃ (last) ἡμέρᾳ (day). ⁵⁵ ἡ (The) γὰρ (for) σάρξ (flesh) μου (of Me), ἀληθής (true) ἐστιν (is) βρῶσις (food), καὶ (and) τὸ (the) αἷμά (blood) μου (of Me), ἀληθής (true) ἐστιν (is) πόσις (drink). ⁵⁶ Ὁ (The one) τρώγων (eating) μου (of Me) τὴν (the) σάρκα (flesh) καὶ (and) πίνων (drinking) μου (of Me) τὸ (the) αἷμα (blood), ἐν (in) ἐμοὶ (Me) μένει (abides), κἀγὼ (and I) ἐν (in) αὐτῷ (him). ⁵⁷ καθὼς (As) ἀπέστειλέν (sent) με (Me) ὁ (the) ζῶν (living) Πατὴρ (Father), κἀγὼ (and I) ζῶ (live) διὰ (because of) τὸν (the) Πατέρα (Father), καὶ (also) ὁ (the one) τρώγων (feeding on) με (Me), κἀκεῖνος (he also) ζήσει (will live) δι’ (because of) ἐμέ (Me). ⁵⁸ οὗτός (This) ἐστιν (is) ὁ (the) ἄρτος (bread) ὁ (-) ἐξ (from) οὐρανοῦ (heaven) καταβάς (having come down), οὐ (not) καθὼς (as) ἔφαγον (ate) οἱ (the) πατέρες (fathers) καὶ (and) ἀπέθανον (died). ὁ (The one) τρώγων (eating) τοῦτον (this) τὸν (-) ἄρτον (bread) ζήσει (will live) εἰς (to) τὸν (the) αἰῶνα (age).”

⁴¹ οὐ (not) παντὶ (to all) τῷ (the) λαῷ (people), ἀλλὰ (but) μάρτυσιν (to the witnesses) τοῖς (-) προκεχειροτονημένοις (having been chosen beforehand) ὑπὸ (by) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God), ἡμῖν (to us) οἵτινες (who) συνεφάγομεν (did eat with) καὶ (and) συνεπίομεν (drink with) αὐτῷ (Him) μετὰ (after) τὸ (-) ἀναστῆναι (rising) αὐτὸν (His) ἐκ (out from) νεκρῶν (the dead).

⁷ ἐκκαθάρατε (Cleanse out) τὴν (the) παλαιὰν (old) ζύμην (leaven), ἵνα (that) ἦτε (you may be) νέον (a new) φύραμα (lump), καθώς (as) ἐστε (you are), ἄζυμοι (unleavened). καὶ (Also) γὰρ (for) τὸ (the) πάσχα (Passover lamb) ἡμῶν (of us) ἐτύθη (has been sacrificed), Χριστός (Christ), ⁸ ὥστε (so that) ἑορτάζωμεν (we might celebrate the feast), μὴ (not) ἐν (with) ζύμῃ (leaven) παλαιᾷ (old), μηδὲ (not) ἐν (with) ζύμῃ (leaven) κακίας (of malice) καὶ (and) πονηρίας (wickedness), ἀλλ’ (but) ἐν (with) ἀζύμοις (unleavened bread) εἰλικρινείας (of sincerity) καὶ (and) ἀληθείας (of truth).

¹ Σκιὰν (A shadow) γὰρ (for) ἔχων (having) ὁ (the) νόμος (law) τῶν (of the) μελλόντων (coming) ἀγαθῶν (good things), οὐκ (not) αὐτὴν (themselves) τὴν (the) εἰκόνα (form) τῶν (of the) πραγμάτων (things), κατ’ (each) ἐνιαυτὸν (year) ταῖς (with the) αὐταῖς (same) θυσίαις (sacrifices), ἃς (which) προσφέρουσιν (they offer) εἰς (to) τὸ (the) διηνεκὲς (continuous), οὐδέποτε (never) δύναται (is able) τοὺς (those) προσερχομένους (drawing near) τελειῶσαι (to perfect). ² ἐπεὶ (Otherwise) οὐκ (not) ἂν (-) ἐπαύσαντο (would they have ceased) προσφερόμεναι (being offered), διὰ (because of) τὸ (-) μηδεμίαν (none) ἔχειν (having) ἔτι (any longer) συνείδησιν (conscience) ἁμαρτιῶν (of sins), τοὺς (those) λατρεύοντας (serving) ἅπαξ (once) κεκαθαρισμένους (having been cleansed)? ³ Ἀλλ’ (But) ἐν (in) αὐταῖς (these), ἀνάμνησις (there is a reminder) ἁμαρτιῶν (of sins) κατ’ (every) ἐνιαυτόν (year). ⁴ ἀδύνατον (Impossible it is) γὰρ (indeed) αἷμα (for the blood) ταύρων (of bulls) καὶ (and) τράγων (of goats) ἀφαιρεῖν (to take away) ἁμαρτίας (sins). ⁵ Διὸ (Therefore) εἰσερχόμενος (coming) εἰς (into) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world), λέγει (He says): “Θυσίαν (Sacrifice) καὶ (and) προσφορὰν (offering) οὐκ (not) ἠθέλησας (You have desired), Σῶμα (a body) δὲ (however) κατηρτίσω (You have prepared) μοι (me). ⁶ Ὁλοκαυτώματα (Burnt offerings) καὶ (and) περὶ (offerings for) ἁμαρτίας (sin) Οὐκ (not) εὐδόκησας (You have delighted in). ⁷ Τότε (Then) εἶπον (I said), ‘Ἰδοὺ (Behold), ἥκω (I have come) — Ἐν (in) κεφαλίδι (the scroll) βιβλίου (of the book) γέγραπται (it is written) περὶ (of) ἐμοῦ (Me) — Τοῦ (-) ποιῆσαι (to do), ὁ (-) Θεός (O God), τὸ (the) θέλημά (will) σου (of You).’” ⁸ Ἀνώτερον (Above) λέγων (saying) ὅτι (-), “Θυσίας (Sacrifice), καὶ (and) προσφορὰς (offering), καὶ (and) ὁλοκαυτώματα (burnt offerings), καὶ (and) περὶ (offerings for) ἁμαρτίας (sin), οὐκ (not) ἠθέλησας (You have desired), οὐδὲ (nor) εὐδόκησας (have You delighted in),” αἵτινες (which) κατὰ (according to) νόμον (the Law) προσφέρονται (are offered); ⁹ τότε (then) εἴρηκεν (He said), “Ἰδοὺ (Behold), ἥκω (I have come) τοῦ (-) ποιῆσαι (to do) τὸ (the) θέλημά (will) σου (of You).” ἀναιρεῖ (He takes away) τὸ (the) πρῶτον (first), ἵνα (that) τὸ (the) δεύτερον (second) στήσῃ (He might establish). ¹⁰ ἐν (By) ᾧ (that) θελήματι (will), ἡγιασμένοι (having been sanctified) ἐσμὲν (we are), διὰ (through) τῆς (the) προσφορᾶς (offering) τοῦ (of the) σώματος (body) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ) ἐφάπαξ (once for all).

⁹ Καὶ (And) λέγει (he says) μοι (to me), “Γράψον (Write), ‘Μακάριοι (Blessed are) οἱ (those) εἰς (to) τὸ (the) δεῖπνον (supper) τοῦ (of the) γάμου (marriage) τοῦ (of the) Ἀρνίου (Lamb) κεκλημένοι (having been invited).’” καὶ (And) λέγει (he says) μοι (to me), “Οὗτοι (These) οἱ (the) λόγοι (words) ἀληθινοὶ (true) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) εἰσιν (are).”
