¹⁵ ἐγὼ (I) γὰρ (for) δώσω (will give) ὑμῖν (you) στόμα (a mouth) καὶ (and) σοφίαν (wisdom), ᾗ (which) οὐ (not) δυνήσονται (will be able) ἀντιστῆναι (to resist) ἢ (nor) ἀντειπεῖν (to reply to) ἅπαντες (all) οἱ (those) ἀντικείμενοι (opposing) ὑμῖν (you).

¹² τὸ (the) γὰρ (for) Ἅγιον (Holy) Πνεῦμα (Spirit) διδάξει (will teach) ὑμᾶς (you) ἐν (in) αὐτῇ (same) τῇ (the) ὥρᾳ (hour) ἃ (what) δεῖ (it behooves you) εἰπεῖν (to say).”

⁴⁵ τότε (Then) διήνοιξεν (He opened) αὐτῶν (their) τὸν (-) νοῦν (mind) τοῦ (-) συνιέναι (to understand) τὰς (the) γραφάς (Scriptures).

⁴ καὶ (And) ἐπλήσθησαν (they were filled with) πάντες (all) Πνεύματος (Spirit) Ἁγίου (Holy), καὶ (and) ἤρξαντο (began) λαλεῖν (to speak) ἑτέραις (in other) γλώσσαις (tongues) καθὼς (as) τὸ (the) Πνεῦμα (Spirit) ἐδίδου (was giving) ἀποφθέγγεσθαι (to utter forth) αὐτοῖς (to them).

⁸ Τότε (Then) Πέτρος (Peter), πλησθεὶς (having been filled) Πνεύματος (with the Spirit) Ἁγίου (Holy), εἶπεν (said) πρὸς (to) αὐτούς (them), “Ἄρχοντες (Rulers) τοῦ (of the) λαοῦ (people) καὶ (and) πρεσβύτεροι (elders), ⁹ εἰ (if) ἡμεῖς (we) σήμερον (this day) ἀνακρινόμεθα (are being examined) ἐπὶ (as to) εὐεργεσίᾳ (a good work) ἀνθρώπου (to the man) ἀσθενοῦς (ailing), ἐν (by) τίνι (what means) οὗτος (he) σέσωσται (has been healed), ¹⁰ γνωστὸν (known) ἔστω (let it be) πᾶσιν (to all) ὑμῖν (you) καὶ (and) παντὶ (to all) τῷ (the) λαῷ (people) Ἰσραὴλ (of Israel) ὅτι (that) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματι (name) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ) τοῦ (of) Ναζωραίου (Nazareth), ὃν (whom) ὑμεῖς (you) ἐσταυρώσατε (crucified), ὃν (whom) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) ἤγειρεν (raised) ἐκ (out from) νεκρῶν (the dead), ἐν (in) τούτῳ (Him) οὗτος (this man) παρέστηκεν (stands) ἐνώπιον (before) ὑμῶν (you) ὑγιής (sound). ¹¹ οὗτός (This) ἐστιν (is) ‘Ὁ (the) λίθος (stone) ὁ (-) ἐξουθενηθεὶς (having been rejected) ὑφ’ (by) ὑμῶν (you), τῶν (the) οἰκοδόμων (builders), ὁ (which) γενόμενος (has become) εἰς (into) κεφαλὴν (head) γωνίας (of the corner).’ ¹² Καὶ (And) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (there is) ἐν (in) ἄλλῳ (other) οὐδενὶ (no one) ἡ (the) σωτηρία (salvation), οὐδὲ (not) γὰρ (for) ὄνομά (name) ἐστιν (is there) ἕτερον (another) ὑπὸ (under) τὸν (-) οὐρανὸν (heaven) τὸ (-) δεδομένον (having been given) ἐν (among) ἀνθρώποις (men) ἐν (by) ᾧ (which) δεῖ (it behooves) σωθῆναι (to be saved) ἡμᾶς (us).” ¹³ Θεωροῦντες (Seeing) δὲ (now) τὴν (the) τοῦ (-) Πέτρου (of Peter) παρρησίαν (boldness), καὶ (and) Ἰωάννου (of John), καὶ (and) καταλαβόμενοι (having understood) ὅτι (that) ἄνθρωποι (men) ἀγράμματοί (unschooled) εἰσιν (they are), καὶ (and) ἰδιῶται (ordinary), ἐθαύμαζον (they were astonished). ἐπεγίνωσκόν (They recognized) τε (then) αὐτοὺς (them), ὅτι (that) σὺν (with) τῷ (-) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) ἦσαν (they had been).

³¹ Καὶ (And) δεηθέντων (having prayed) αὐτῶν (they), ἐσαλεύθη (was shaken) ὁ (the) τόπος (place) ἐν (in) ᾧ (which) ἦσαν (they were) συνηγμένοι (assembled), καὶ (and) ἐπλήσθησαν (they were filled with) ἅπαντες (all) τοῦ (the) Ἁγίου (Holy) Πνεύματος (Spirit) καὶ (and) ἐλάλουν (were speaking) τὸν (the) λόγον (word) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) μετὰ (with) παρρησίας (boldness). ³² Τοῦ (-) δὲ (And) πλήθους (the multitude) τῶν (-) πιστευσάντων (having believed) ἦν (were in) καρδία (heart) καὶ (and) ψυχὴ (soul) μία (one), καὶ (and) οὐδὲ (not) εἷς (one) τι (anything) τῶν (of that which) ὑπαρχόντων (possessed) αὐτῷ (he), ἔλεγεν (claimed) ἴδιον (his own) εἶναι (to be), ἀλλ’ (but) ἦν (were) αὐτοῖς (to them) πάντα (all things) κοινά (in common). ³³ καὶ (And) δυνάμει (with power) μεγάλῃ (great), ἀπεδίδουν (were giving) τὸ (-) μαρτύριον (testimony) οἱ (the) ἀπόστολοι (apostles) «τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) Ἰησοῦ» (Jesus) «τῆς (of the) ἀναστάσεως» (resurrection); χάρις (grace) τε (then) μεγάλη (abundant) ἦν (was) ἐπὶ (upon) πάντας (all) αὐτούς (them).

¹⁰ καὶ (And) οὐκ (not) ἴσχυον (they were able) ἀντιστῆναι (to withstand) τῇ (the) σοφίᾳ (wisdom) καὶ (and) τῷ (the) Πνεύματι (Spirit) ᾧ (by whom) ἐλάλει (he was speaking).

²⁵ διαλεγομένου (Reasoning) δὲ (then) αὐτοῦ (he) περὶ (concerning) δικαιοσύνης (righteousness) καὶ (and) ἐγκρατείας (self-control) καὶ (and) τοῦ (the) κρίματος (judgment) τοῦ (-) μέλλοντος (coming), ἔμφοβος (frightened) γενόμενος (having become), ὁ (-) Φῆλιξ (Felix) ἀπεκρίθη (answered), “Τὸ (For the) νῦν (present) ἔχον (being) πορεύου (go away); καιρὸν (opportunity) δὲ (then) μεταλαβὼν (having found), μετακαλέσομαί (I will call for) σε (you).”

²⁸ Ὁ (-) δὲ (Then) Ἀγρίππας (Agrippa) πρὸς (said to) τὸν (-) Παῦλον (Paul), “Ἐν (Within) ὀλίγῳ (so little) με (me) πείθεις (do you persuade) Χριστιανὸν (a Christian) ποιῆσαι (to become)?”

¹⁹ καὶ (and also) ὑπὲρ (for) ἐμοῦ (me), ἵνα (that) μοι (to me) δοθῇ (may be given) λόγος (divine utterance) ἐν (in) ἀνοίξει (the opening) τοῦ (of the) στόματός (mouth) μου (of me), ἐν (with) παρρησίᾳ (boldness) γνωρίσαι (to make known) τὸ (the) μυστήριον (mystery) τοῦ (of the) εὐαγγελίου (gospel),

³ προσευχόμενοι (praying) ἅμα (at the same time) καὶ (also) περὶ (for) ἡμῶν (us), ἵνα (that) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) ἀνοίξῃ (may open) ἡμῖν (to us) θύραν (a door) τοῦ (for the) λόγου (word), λαλῆσαι (to declare) τὸ (the) μυστήριον (mystery) τοῦ (-) Χριστοῦ (of Christ), δι’ (on account of) ὃ (which) καὶ (also) δέδεμαι (I have been bound), ⁴ ἵνα (so that) φανερώσω (I should make clear) αὐτὸ (it), ὡς (as) δεῖ (it behooves) με (me) λαλῆσαι (to speak).

¹⁶ Ἐν (In) τῇ (-) πρώτῃ (first) μου (of me) ἀπολογίᾳ (defense), οὐδείς (no one) μοι (me) παρεγένετο (has stood with), ἀλλὰ (but) πάντες (all) με (me) ἐγκατέλιπον (deserted). μὴ (Not) αὐτοῖς (to them) λογισθείη (may it be charged)! ¹⁷ ὁ (-) δὲ (And) Κύριός (the Lord) μοι (me) παρέστη (stood by) καὶ (and) ἐνεδυνάμωσέν (strengthened) με (me), ἵνα (so that) δι’ (through) ἐμοῦ (me) τὸ (the) κήρυγμα (proclamation) πληροφορηθῇ (would be fully accomplished), καὶ (and) ἀκούσωσιν (should hear) πάντα (all) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (Gentiles). καὶ (And) ἐρρύσθην (I was delivered) ἐκ (out of) στόματος (the mouth) λέοντος (of the lion).

⁵ Εἰ (If) δέ (now) τις (any) ὑμῶν (of you) λείπεται (lacks) σοφίας (wisdom), αἰτείτω (let him ask) παρὰ (from) τοῦ (the One) διδόντος (giving), Θεοῦ (God), πᾶσιν (to all) ἁπλῶς (generously), καὶ (and) μὴ (not) ὀνειδίζοντος (finding fault), καὶ (and) δοθήσεται (it will be given) αὐτῷ (to him).
