³⁰ ταῦτα (these things) γὰρ (for) πάντα (all) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (nations) τοῦ (of the) κόσμου (world) ἐπιζητοῦσιν (seek after); ὑμῶν (of you) δὲ (now) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father) οἶδεν (knows) ὅτι (that) χρῄζετε (you have need) τούτων (of these).

⁴⁷ καὶ (And) ἐὰν (if) ἀσπάσησθε (you greet) τοὺς (the) ἀδελφοὺς (brothers) ὑμῶν (of you) μόνον (only), τί (what) περισσὸν (extraordinary) ποιεῖτε (do you)? οὐχὶ (Do not) καὶ (also) οἱ (the) ἐθνικοὶ (Gentiles) τὸ (the) αὐτὸ (same) ποιοῦσιν (do)?

¹ Προσέχετε (Beware) δὲ (now) τὴν (the) δικαιοσύνην (righteousness) ὑμῶν (of you) μὴ (not) ποιεῖν (to do) ἔμπροσθεν (before) τῶν (-) ἀνθρώπων (men) πρὸς (in order) τὸ (-) θεαθῆναι (to be seen) αὐτοῖς (by them); εἰ (if) δὲ (now) μή¦γε (otherwise), μισθὸν (reward) οὐκ (not) ἔχετε (have you) παρὰ (with) τῷ (the) Πατρὶ (Father) ὑμῶν (of you) τῷ (who is) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) οὐρανοῖς (heavens).

⁸ μὴ (Not) οὖν (therefore) ὁμοιωθῆτε (be like) αὐτοῖς (to them), οἶδεν (knows) γὰρ (for) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father) ὑμῶν (of you) ὧν (of what things) χρείαν (need) ἔχετε (you have), πρὸ (before) τοῦ (-) ὑμᾶς (your) αἰτῆσαι (asking) αὐτόν (Him).

³² πάντα (All) γὰρ (for) ταῦτα (these things) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (Gentiles) ἐπιζητοῦσιν (seek after); οἶδεν (knows) γὰρ (for) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father) ὑμῶν (of you) ὁ (-) οὐράνιος (Heavenly) ὅτι (that) χρῄζετε (you have need) τούτων (of them) ἁπάντων (all).

²⁰ οὐ (Not) γὰρ (for) ὑμεῖς (you) ἐστε (are) οἱ (those) λαλοῦντες (speaking), ἀλλὰ (but) τὸ (the) Πνεῦμα (Spirit) τοῦ (of the) Πατρὸς (Father) ὑμῶν (of you) τὸ (-) λαλοῦν (speaking) ἐν (through) ὑμῖν (you).

¹⁴ οὕτως (Thus) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (it is) θέλημα (the will) ἔμπροσθεν (of) τοῦ (the) Πατρὸς (Father) ὑμῶν (of you) τοῦ (who is) ἐν (in) οὐρανοῖς (the heavens), ἵνα (that) ἀπόληται (should perish) ἓν (one) τῶν (of the) μικρῶν (little ones) τούτων (of these).

³² Μὴ (Not) φοβοῦ (fear), τὸ (-) μικρὸν (little) ποίμνιον (flock), ὅτι (for) εὐδόκησεν (took delight) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father) ὑμῶν (of you) δοῦναι (to give) ὑμῖν (you) τὴν (the) βασιλείαν (kingdom).

¹⁷ Λέγει (Says) αὐτῇ (to her) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Μή (Not) μου (Me) ἅπτου (touch), οὔπω (not yet) γὰρ (for) ἀναβέβηκα (have I ascended) πρὸς (to) τὸν (the) Πατέρα (Father); πορεύου (go) δὲ (however) πρὸς (to) τοὺς (the) ἀδελφούς (brothers) μου (of Me) καὶ (and) εἰπὲ (say) αὐτοῖς (to them), ‘Ἀναβαίνω (I am ascending) πρὸς (to) τὸν (the) Πατέρα (Father) μου (of Me) καὶ (and) Πατέρα (Father) ὑμῶν (of you), καὶ (and to) Θεόν (God) μου (of Me) καὶ (and) Θεὸν (God) ὑμῶν (of you).’”

¹⁷ Τοῦτο (This) οὖν (therefore) λέγω (I say) καὶ (and) μαρτύρομαι (testify) ἐν (in) Κυρίῳ (the Lord): μηκέτι (No longer) ὑμᾶς (are you) περιπατεῖν (to walk) καθὼς (as) καὶ (also) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (Gentiles) περιπατεῖ (are walking), ἐν (in) ματαιότητι (the futility) τοῦ (of the) νοὸς (mind) αὐτῶν (of them),

⁵ μὴ (not) ἐν (in) πάθει (the passion) ἐπιθυμίας (of lust), καθάπερ (as) καὶ (also) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (Gentiles), τὰ (-) μὴ (not) εἰδότα (knowing) τὸν (-) Θεόν (God);

² εἰς (so as) τὸ (-) μηκέτι (no longer) ἀνθρώπων (to men’s) ἐπιθυμίαις (desires) ἀλλὰ (but) θελήματι (to the will) Θεοῦ (of God), τὸν (the) ἐπίλοιπον (remaining) ἐν (in) σαρκὶ (the flesh) βιῶσαι (to live) χρόνον (time). ³ ἀρκετὸς (Is sufficient) γὰρ (for) ὁ (the) παρεληλυθὼς (past) χρόνος (time) τὸ (the) βούλημα (desire) τῶν (of the) ἐθνῶν (Gentiles) κατειργάσθαι (to have carried out), πεπορευμένους (having walked) ἐν (in) ἀσελγείαις (sensuality), ἐπιθυμίαις (lusts), οἰνοφλυγίαις (drunkenness), κώμοις (orgies), πότοις (carousing), καὶ (and) ἀθεμίτοις (abominable) εἰδωλολατρίαις (idolatries). ⁴ Ἐν (With respect to) ᾧ (this) ξενίζονται (they think it strange), μὴ (not) συντρεχόντων (running with them) ὑμῶν (of you) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) αὐτὴν (same) τῆς (-) ἀσωτίας (of debauchery) ἀνάχυσιν (overflow), βλασφημοῦντες (speaking evil of you),
