⁵⁰ ὅστις (Whoever) γὰρ (for) ἂν (-) ποιήσῃ (shall do) τὸ (the) θέλημα (will) τοῦ (the) Πατρός (Father) μου (of Me) τοῦ (who is) ἐν (in) οὐρανοῖς (the heavens), αὐτός (he) μου (My) ἀδελφὸς (brother) καὶ (and) ἀδελφὴ (sister) καὶ (and) μήτηρ (mother) ἐστίν (is).”

⁴⁰ Καὶ (And) ἀποκριθεὶς (answering), ὁ (the) Βασιλεὺς (King) ἐρεῖ (will say) αὐτοῖς (to them), ‘Ἀμὴν (Truly) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you), ἐφ’ (to the extent) ὅσον (as much as) ἐποιήσατε (you did it) ἑνὶ (to one) τούτων (of these) τῶν (the) ἀδελφῶν (brothers) μου (of Me) τῶν (the) ἐλαχίστων (least), ἐμοὶ (to Me) ἐποιήσατε (you did it).’

⁷ καὶ (And) ταχὺ (quickly) πορευθεῖσαι (having gone), εἴπατε (say) τοῖς (to the) μαθηταῖς (disciples) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ὅτι (that) Ἠγέρθη (He is risen) ἀπὸ (from) τῶν (the) νεκρῶν (dead) καὶ (and) ἰδοὺ (behold), προάγει (He goes before) ὑμᾶς (you) εἰς (into) τὴν (-) Γαλιλαίαν (Galilee); ἐκεῖ (there) αὐτὸν (Him) ὄψεσθε (you will see). ἰδοὺ (Behold), εἶπον (I have told) ὑμῖν (you).”

⁹ καὶ (And) ἰδοὺ (behold), Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) ὑπήντησεν (met) αὐταῖς (them), λέγων (saying), “Χαίρετε (Greetings)!” αἱ (-) δὲ (And) προσελθοῦσαι (having come to Him), ἐκράτησαν (they took hold of) αὐτοῦ (His) τοὺς (-) πόδας (feet) καὶ (and) προσεκύνησαν (worshiped) αὐτῷ (Him). ¹⁰ τότε (Then) λέγει (says) αὐταῖς (to them) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Μὴ (Not) φοβεῖσθε (fear). ὑπάγετε (Go), ἀπαγγείλατε (tell) τοῖς (the) ἀδελφοῖς (brothers), μου (of Me) ἵνα (so that) ἀπέλθωσιν (they should go) εἰς (into) τὴν (-) Γαλιλαίαν (Galilee), κἀκεῖ (and there) με (Me) ὄψονται (will they see).”

¹⁹ Ὁ (-) μὲν (Indeed) οὖν (therefore) Κύριος (the Lord) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), μετὰ (after) τὸ (-) λαλῆσαι (speaking) αὐτοῖς (to them), ἀνελήμφθη (was taken up) εἰς (into) τὸν (the) οὐρανὸν (heaven) καὶ (and) ἐκάθισεν (sat) ἐκ (at the) δεξιῶν (right hand) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).

⁴ μὴ (Neither) βαστάζετε (carry) βαλλάντιον (purse), μὴ (nor) πήραν (bag), μὴ (nor) ὑποδήματα (sandals); καὶ (and) μηδένα (no one) κατὰ (on) τὴν (the) ὁδὸν (road) ἀσπάσησθε (greet).

⁴⁹ Καὶ (And) ἰδοὺ (behold), ἐγὼ (I) ἐξαποστέλλω (am sending) τὴν (the) ἐπαγγελίαν (promise) τοῦ (of the) Πατρός (Father) μου (of Me) ἐφ’ (upon) ὑμᾶς (you); ὑμεῖς (you) δὲ (however) καθίσατε (remain) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) πόλει (city) ἕως (until) οὗ (that) ἐνδύσησθε (you should be clothed with) ἐξ (from) ὕψους (on high) δύναμιν (power).” ⁵⁰ Ἐξήγαγεν (He led) δὲ (now) αὐτοὺς (them) [ἔξω] (out) ἕως (as far as) πρὸς (to) Βηθανίαν (Bethany), καὶ (and) ἐπάρας (having lifted up) τὰς (the) χεῖρας (hands) αὐτοῦ (of Him), εὐλόγησεν (He blessed) αὐτούς (them). ⁵¹ καὶ (And) ἐγένετο (it came to pass) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) εὐλογεῖν (blessing) αὐτὸν (of Him) αὐτοὺς (them), διέστη (He was separated) ἀπ’ (from) αὐτῶν (them) καὶ (and) ἀνεφέρετο (was carried up) εἰς (into) τὸν (-) οὐρανόν (heaven).

¹² ὅσοι (As many as) δὲ (however) ἔλαβον (received) αὐτόν (Him), ἔδωκεν (He gave) αὐτοῖς (to them) ἐξουσίαν (authority) τέκνα (children) Θεοῦ (of God) γενέσθαι (to be), τοῖς (to those) πιστεύουσιν (believing) εἰς (in) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name) αὐτοῦ (of Him), ¹³ οἳ (who) οὐκ (not) ἐξ (of) αἱμάτων (blood), οὐδὲ (nor) ἐκ (of) θελήματος (will) σαρκὸς (of flesh), οὐδὲ (nor) ἐκ (of) θελήματος (will) ἀνδρὸς (of man), ἀλλ’ (but) ἐκ (of) Θεοῦ (God) ἐγεννήθησαν (were born).

³³ εἶπεν (Said) οὖν (therefore) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Ἔτι (Yet) χρόνον (time) μικρὸν (a little) μεθ’ (with) ὑμῶν (you) εἰμι (I am), καὶ (and) ὑπάγω (I go) πρὸς (to) τὸν (the One) πέμψαντά (having sent) με (Me).

¹ Πρὸ (Before) δὲ (now) τῆς (the) ἑορτῆς (feast) τοῦ (of the) πάσχα (Passover), εἰδὼς (knowing) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) ὅτι (that) ἦλθεν (had come) αὐτοῦ (His) ἡ (-) ὥρα (hour), ἵνα (that) μεταβῇ (He would depart) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (the) κόσμου (world) τούτου (this) πρὸς (to) τὸν (the) Πατέρα (Father), ἀγαπήσας (having loved) τοὺς (the) ἰδίους (own) τοὺς (who were) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) κόσμῳ (world), εἰς (to) τέλος (the end) ἠγάπησεν (He loved) αὐτούς (them).

³ εἰδὼς (knowing) ὅτι (that) πάντα (all things) ἔδωκεν (has given) αὐτῷ (Him) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father) εἰς (into) τὰς (the) χεῖρας (hands), καὶ (and) ὅτι (that) ἀπὸ (from) Θεοῦ (God) ἐξῆλθεν (He came forth) καὶ (and) πρὸς (to) τὸν (-) Θεὸν (God) ὑπάγει (He is going),

² ἐν (In) τῇ (the) οἰκίᾳ (house) τοῦ (of the) Πατρός (Father) μου (of Me), μοναὶ (mansions) πολλαί (many) εἰσιν (there are); εἰ (if) δὲ (now) μή (not), εἶπον (would I have told) ἂν (-) ὑμῖν (you) ὅτι (that) πορεύομαι (I go) ἑτοιμάσαι (to prepare) τόπον (a place) ὑμῖν (for you)?

⁶ Λέγει (Says) αὐτῷ (to him) ‹ὁ› (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Ἐγώ (I) εἰμι (am) ἡ (the) ὁδὸς (way), καὶ (and) ἡ (the) ἀλήθεια (truth), καὶ (and) ἡ (the) ζωή (life). οὐδεὶς (No one) ἔρχεται (comes) πρὸς (to) τὸν (the) Πατέρα (Father), εἰ (if) μὴ (not) δι’ (by) ἐμοῦ (Me).

²⁸ ἠκούσατε (You heard) ὅτι (that) ἐγὼ (I) εἶπον (said) ὑμῖν (to you), ‘Ὑπάγω (I am going away) καὶ (and) ἔρχομαι (I am coming) πρὸς (to) ὑμᾶς (you).’ εἰ (If) ἠγαπᾶτέ (you loved) με (Me), ἐχάρητε (you would have rejoiced) ἄν (-) ὅτι (that) πορεύομαι (I am going) πρὸς (to) τὸν (the) Πατέρα (Father), ὅτι (because) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father) μείζων (greater than) μού (I) ἐστιν (is).

²⁸ ἐξῆλθον (I came forth) ἐκ (from) τοῦ (the) Πατρὸς (Father) καὶ (and) ἐλήλυθα (have come) εἰς (into) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world); πάλιν (again) ἀφίημι (I leave) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world) καὶ (and) πορεύομαι (go) πρὸς (to) τὸν (the) Πατέρα (Father).”

⁵ καὶ (And) νῦν (now) δόξασόν (glorify) με (Me) σύ (You), Πάτερ (Father), παρὰ (with) σεαυτῷ (Yourself), τῇ (with the) δόξῃ (glory) ᾗ (that) εἶχον (I had) πρὸ (before) τοῦ (-) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world) εἶναι (existed), παρὰ (with) σοί (You).

¹¹ καὶ (And) οὐκέτι (no longer) εἰμὶ (I am) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) κόσμῳ (world), καὶ (and yet) αὐτοὶ (themselves) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) κόσμῳ (world) εἰσίν (they are), κἀγὼ (and I) πρὸς (to) σὲ (You) ἔρχομαι (am coming). Πάτερ (Father) ἅγιε (Holy), τήρησον (keep) αὐτοὺς (them) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματί (name) σου (of You), ᾧ (which) δέδωκάς (You have given) μοι (Me), ἵνα (that) ὦσιν (they may be) ἓν (one) καθὼς (as) ἡμεῖς (we are).

²⁵ Πάτερ* (Father) δίκαιε (righteous), καὶ (although) ὁ (the) κόσμος (world) σε (You) οὐκ (not) ἔγνω (has known), ἐγὼ (I) δέ (now) σε (You) ἔγνων (have known), καὶ (and) οὗτοι (these) ἔγνωσαν (have known) ὅτι (that) σύ (You) με (Me) ἀπέστειλας (sent).

²⁷ εἶτα (Then) λέγει (He says) τῷ (-) Θωμᾷ (to Thomas), “Φέρε (Bring) τὸν (the) δάκτυλόν (finger) σου (of you) ὧδε (here), καὶ (and) ἴδε (see) τὰς (the) χεῖράς (hands) μου (of Me); καὶ (and) φέρε (bring) τὴν (the) χεῖρά (hand) σου (of you), καὶ (and) βάλε (put it) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) πλευράν (side) μου (of Me); καὶ (and) μὴ (not) γίνου (be) ἄπιστος (unbelieving), ἀλλὰ (but) πιστός (believing).”

¹⁴ ὅσοι (As many as) γὰρ (for) Πνεύματι (by the Spirit) Θεοῦ (of God) ἄγονται (are led), οὗτοι (these) υἱοί (sons) εἰσιν (are) Θεοῦ (of God). ¹⁵ Οὐ (Not) γὰρ (for) ἐλάβετε (you have received) πνεῦμα (a spirit) δουλείας (of bondage) πάλιν (again) εἰς (to) φόβον (fear), ἀλλὰ (but) ἐλάβετε (you have received) πνεῦμα (the Spirit) υἱοθεσίας (of divine adoption as sons), ἐν (by) ᾧ (whom) κράζομεν (we cry), “Ἀββᾶ (Abba)! ὁ (-) Πατήρ (Father)!” ¹⁶ αὐτὸ (Himself) τὸ (the) Πνεῦμα (Spirit) συμμαρτυρεῖ (bears witness with) τῷ (the) πνεύματι (spirit) ἡμῶν (of us) ὅτι (that) ἐσμὲν (we are) τέκνα (children) Θεοῦ (of God). ¹⁷ εἰ (If) δὲ (now) τέκνα (children), καὶ (also) κληρονόμοι (heirs), κληρονόμοι (heirs) μὲν (indeed) Θεοῦ (of God), συνκληρονόμοι (joint-heirs) δὲ (now) Χριστοῦ (of Christ), εἴπερ (if indeed) συμπάσχομεν (we suffer with Him), ἵνα (so that) καὶ (also) συνδοξασθῶμεν (we may be glorified together).

²⁹ ὅτι (For) οὓς (those whom) προέγνω (He foreknew), καὶ (also) προώρισεν (He predestined to be) συμμόρφους (conformed to) τῆς (the) εἰκόνος (image) τοῦ (of the) Υἱοῦ (Son) αὐτοῦ (of Him), εἰς (for) τὸ (-) εἶναι (to be) αὐτὸν (Him) πρωτότοκον (firstborn) ἐν (among) πολλοῖς (many) ἀδελφοῖς (brothers).

¹⁸ Καὶ (and) “Ἔσομαι (I will be) ὑμῖν (to you) εἰς (for) Πατέρα (a father), καὶ (and) ὑμεῖς (you) ἔσεσθέ (will be) μοι (to Me) εἰς (for) υἱοὺς (sons) καὶ (and) θυγατέρας (daughters), λέγει (says) Κύριος (the Lord) Παντοκράτωρ (Almighty).”

²⁶ Πάντες (All) γὰρ (for) υἱοὶ (sons) Θεοῦ (of God) ἐστε (you are) διὰ (through) τῆς (-) πίστεως (faith) ἐν (in) Χριστῷ (Christ) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus).

⁶ Ὅτι (Because) δέ (now) ἐστε (you are) υἱοί (sons), ἐξαπέστειλεν (sent forth) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) τὸ (the) Πνεῦμα (Spirit) τοῦ (of the) Υἱοῦ (Son) αὐτοῦ (of Him) εἰς (into) τὰς (the) καρδίας (hearts) ἡμῶν (of us), κρᾶζον (crying out), “Ἀββᾶ (Abba), ὁ (-) Πατήρ (Father)!” ⁷ ὥστε (So) οὐκέτι (no longer) εἶ (you are) δοῦλος (a slave), ἀλλὰ (but) υἱός (a son); εἰ (if) δὲ (now) υἱός (a son), καὶ (also) κληρονόμος (an heir) διὰ (through) Θεοῦ (God).

⁸ διὸ (Therefore) λέγει (it says): “Ἀναβὰς (Having ascended) εἰς (on) ὕψος (high), ᾐχμαλώτευσεν (He led captive) αἰχμαλωσίαν (captivity), (καὶ) (and) ἔδωκεν (gave) δόματα (gifts) τοῖς (-) ἀνθρώποις (to men).” ⁹ Τὸ (-) δὲ (And), “Ἀνέβη (He ascended),” τί (what) ἐστιν (is) εἰ (if) μὴ (not) ὅτι (that) καὶ (also) κατέβη (He descended) εἰς (into) τὰ (the) κατώτερα (lower) μέρη (regions) τῆς (of the) γῆς (earth)? ¹⁰ ὁ (The One) καταβὰς (having descended), αὐτός (the same) ἐστιν (is) καὶ (also) ὁ (one) ἀναβὰς (having ascended) ὑπεράνω (above) πάντων (all) τῶν (the) οὐρανῶν (heavens), ἵνα (so that) πληρώσῃ (He might fill) τὰ (-) πάντα (all things).

¹¹ ὅ (The One) τε (both) γὰρ (for) ἁγιάζων (sanctifying), καὶ (and) οἱ (those) ἁγιαζόμενοι (being sanctified), ἐξ (of) ἑνὸς (one) πάντες (are all); δι’ (for) ἣν (which) αἰτίαν (reason), οὐκ (not) ἐπαισχύνεται (He is ashamed) ἀδελφοὺς (brothers) αὐτοὺς (them) καλεῖν (to call), ¹² λέγων (saying): “Ἀπαγγελῶ (I will declare) τὸ (the) ὄνομά (name) σου (of You) τοῖς (to the) ἀδελφοῖς (brothers) μου (of Me); ἐν (in) μέσῳ (the midst) ἐκκλησίας (of the congregation) ὑμνήσω (I will sing praises) σε (of you).” ¹³ Καὶ (And) πάλιν (again): “Ἐγὼ (I) ἔσομαι (will be) πεποιθὼς (trusting) ἐπ’ (in) αὐτῷ (Him).” Καὶ (And) πάλιν (again): “Ἰδοὺ (Behold), ἐγὼ (I) καὶ (and) τὰ (the) παιδία (children) ἅ (whom) μοι (to Me) ἔδωκεν (has given) ὁ (-) Θεός (God).”

¹⁰ ὅτι (For) αὕτη (this is) ἡ (the) διαθήκη (covenant) ἣν (that) διαθήσομαι (I will make) τῷ (with the) οἴκῳ (house) Ἰσραὴλ (of Israel), μετὰ (after) τὰς (the) ἡμέρας (days) ἐκείνας (those), λέγει (says) Κύριος (the Lord), διδοὺς (putting) νόμους (Laws) μου (of Me) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) διάνοιαν (mind) αὐτῶν (of them), καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (upon) καρδίας (hearts) αὐτῶν (of them) ἐπιγράψω (I will inscribe) αὐτούς (them); καὶ (and) ἔσομαι (I will be) αὐτοῖς (to them) εἰς (for) Θεόν (God), καὶ (and) αὐτοὶ (they) ἔσονταί (will be) μοι (to Me) εἰς (for) λαόν (a people).

¹⁶ νῦν (Now) δὲ (however) κρείττονος (a better one) ὀρέγονται (they stretch forward to), τοῦτ’ (that) ἔστιν (is), ἐπουρανίου (a heavenly one). διὸ (Therefore) οὐκ (not) ἐπαισχύνεται (is ashamed of) αὐτοὺς (them) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God), Θεὸς (God) ἐπικαλεῖσθαι (to be called) αὐτῶν (of them); ἡτοίμασεν (He has prepared) γὰρ (indeed) αὐτοῖς (for them) πόλιν (a city).

³ Εὐλογητὸς (Blessed be) ὁ (the) Θεὸς (God) καὶ (and) Πατὴρ (Father) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) ἡμῶν (of us) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ), ὁ (the One) κατὰ (according to) τὸ (the) πολὺ (great) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἔλεος (mercy) ἀναγεννήσας (having begotten again) ἡμᾶς (us) εἰς (to) ἐλπίδα (a hope) ζῶσαν (living), δι’ (through) ἀναστάσεως (the resurrection) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ) ἐκ (out from) νεκρῶν (the dead),

² Ἀγαπητοί (Beloved), νῦν (now) τέκνα (children) Θεοῦ (of God) ἐσμεν (are we), καὶ (and) οὔπω (not yet) ἐφανερώθη (has been revealed) τί (what) ἐσόμεθα (we will be). οἴδαμεν (We know) ὅτι (that) ἐὰν (when) φανερωθῇ (He appears), ὅμοιοι (like) αὐτῷ (Him) ἐσόμεθα (we will be), ὅτι (for) ὀψόμεθα (we will see) αὐτὸν (Him) καθώς (as) ἐστιν (He is).

³ Καὶ (And) ἤκουσα (I heard) φωνῆς (a voice) μεγάλης (great) ἐκ (from) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne), λεγούσης (saying): “Ἰδοὺ (Behold), ἡ (the) σκηνὴ (tabernacle) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) μετὰ (is with) τῶν (-) ἀνθρώπων (men), καὶ (and) σκηνώσει (He will tabernacle) μετ’ (with) αὐτῶν (them), καὶ (and) αὐτοὶ (they) λαοὶ (peoples) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἔσονται (will be), καὶ (and) αὐτὸς (Himself) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) μετ’ (with) αὐτῶν (them) ἔσται (will be) [αὐτῶν (as their) θεός] (God).

⁷ ὁ (The one) νικῶν (overcoming) κληρονομήσει (will inherit) ταῦτα (all things), καὶ (and) ἔσομαι (I will be) αὐτῷ (his) Θεὸς (God), καὶ (and) αὐτὸς (he) ἔσται (will be) μοι (My) υἱός (son).
