²⁵ Ἐν (At) ἐκείνῳ (that) τῷ (-) καιρῷ (time) ἀποκριθεὶς (answering), ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) εἶπεν (said), “Ἐξομολογοῦμαί (I fully consent) σοι (to You), Πάτερ (Father), Κύριε (Lord) τοῦ (of the) οὐρανοῦ (heaven) καὶ (and) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth), ὅτι (that) ἔκρυψας (You did hide) ταῦτα (these things) ἀπὸ (from) σοφῶν (wise) καὶ (and) συνετῶν (learned), καὶ (and) ἀπεκάλυψας (did reveal) αὐτὰ (them) νηπίοις (to little children).

³ καὶ (and) εἶπεν (said), “Ἀμὴν (Truly) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you), ἐὰν (if) μὴ (not) στραφῆτε (you turn) καὶ (and) γένησθε (become) ὡς (as) τὰ (the) παιδία (little children), οὐ (no) μὴ (not) εἰσέλθητε (shall you enter) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) βασιλείαν (kingdom) τῶν (of the) οὐρανῶν (heavens).

⁴ Ὁ (Which) δὲ (now) ἀποκριθεὶς (answering), εἶπεν (He said), “Οὐκ (Not) ἀνέγνωτε (have you read) ὅτι (that) ὁ (the One) κτίσας (having created), ἀπ’ (from the) ἀρχῆς (beginning) ‘Ἄρσεν (male) καὶ (and) θῆλυ (female) ἐποίησεν (made) αὐτοὺς (them)’

¹⁵ ἀμὴν (Truly) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you), ὃς (whoever) ἂν (-) μὴ (not) δέξηται (shall receive) τὴν (the) βασιλείαν (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ὡς (as) παιδίον (a child), οὐ (no) μὴ (not) εἰσέλθῃ (shall enter) εἰς (into) αὐτήν (it).”

¹⁹ Ἡ (The) γὰρ (for) ὑμῶν (of you) ὑπακοὴ (obedience), εἰς (to) πάντας (all) ἀφίκετο (has reached). ἐφ’ (Over) ὑμῖν (you), οὖν (therefore) χαίρω (I rejoice); θέλω (I wish) δὲ (however) ὑμᾶς (you) σοφοὺς (wise) εἶναι (to be) εἰς (to) τὸ (-) ἀγαθόν (good), ἀκεραίους (innocent) δὲ (however) εἰς (to) τὸ (-) κακόν (evil).

⁶ Σοφίαν (Wisdom) δὲ (however) λαλοῦμεν (we speak) ἐν (among) τοῖς (the) τελείοις (mature); σοφίαν (wisdom) δὲ (however), οὐ (not) τοῦ (the) αἰῶνος (age) τούτου (of this), οὐδὲ (nor) τῶν (of the) ἀρχόντων (rulers) τοῦ (the) αἰῶνος (age) τούτου (of this), τῶν (who) καταργουμένων (are coming to naught).

¹ Κἀγώ (And I) ἀδελφοί (brothers) οὐκ (not) ἠδυνήθην (was able) λαλῆσαι (to speak) ὑμῖν (to you) ὡς (as) πνευματικοῖς (to spiritual), ἀλλ’ (but) ὡς (as) σαρκίνοις (to fleshly), ὡς (as) νηπίοις (to infants) ἐν (in) Χριστῷ (Christ). ² γάλα (Milk) ὑμᾶς (you) ἐπότισα (I gave to drink), οὐ (not) βρῶμα (solid food), οὔπω (not yet) γὰρ (for) ἐδύνασθε (were you able). Ἀλλ’ (In fact), οὐδὲ (not) ἔτι (still) νῦν (now) δύνασθε (are you able);

¹¹ Ὅτε (When) ἤμην (I was) νήπιος (a child), ἐλάλουν (I was speaking) ὡς (like) νήπιος (a child), ἐφρόνουν (I was thinking) ὡς (like) νήπιος (a child), ἐλογιζόμην (I was reasoning) ὡς (like) νήπιος (a child); ὅτε (when) γέγονα (I became) ἀνήρ (a man), κατήργηκα (I did away with) τὰ (the things) τοῦ (of the) νηπίου (child).

¹⁴ ἵνα (so that) μηκέτι (no longer) ὦμεν (we might be) νήπιοι (infants), κλυδωνιζόμενοι (being tossed by waves) καὶ (and) περιφερόμενοι (being carried about) παντὶ (by every) ἀνέμῳ (wind) τῆς (-) διδασκαλίας (of teaching), ἐν (in) τῇ (the) κυβείᾳ* (cunning) τῶν (-) ἀνθρώπων (of men) ἐν (in) πανουργίᾳ (craftiness), πρὸς (with a view to) τὴν (the) μεθοδείαν (scheming) τῆς (-) πλάνης (of deceit). ¹⁵ ἀληθεύοντες (Speaking the truth) δὲ (however) ἐν (in) ἀγάπῃ (love), αὐξήσωμεν (we should grow up) εἰς (into) αὐτὸν (Him) τὰ (in) πάντα (all things) ὅς (who) ἐστιν (is) ἡ (the) κεφαλή (head), Χριστός (Christ),

⁹ Καὶ (And) τοῦτο (this) προσεύχομαι (I pray), ἵνα (that) ἡ (the) ἀγάπη (love) ὑμῶν (of you), ἔτι (yet) μᾶλλον (more) καὶ (and) μᾶλλον (more) περισσεύῃ (may abound) ἐν (in) ἐπιγνώσει (knowledge) καὶ (and) πάσῃ (all) αἰσθήσει (discernment),

¹⁵ Ὅσοι (As many as) οὖν (therefore) τέλειοι (are mature), τοῦτο (this) φρονῶμεν (should be of mind); καὶ (and) εἴ (if in) τι (anything) ἑτέρως (differently) φρονεῖτε (you are minded), καὶ (even) τοῦτο (this) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) ὑμῖν (to you) ἀποκαλύψει (will reveal).

¹² καὶ (Even) γὰρ (for) ὀφείλοντες (you ought) εἶναι (to be) διδάσκαλοι (teachers) διὰ (by) τὸν (the) χρόνον (time), πάλιν (again) χρείαν (need of) ἔχετε (you have) τοῦ (one) διδάσκειν (to teach) ὑμᾶς (you) τινα (what is) τὰ (the) στοιχεῖα (principles) τῆς (of the) ἀρχῆς (beginning) τῶν (of the) λογίων (oracles) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God); καὶ (and) γεγόνατε (you have become) χρείαν (need) ἔχοντες (those having) γάλακτος (of milk), [καὶ] (and) οὐ (not) στερεᾶς (of solid) τροφῆς (food). ¹³ πᾶς (Everyone) γὰρ (for) ὁ (-) μετέχων (partaking only) γάλακτος (of milk) ἄπειρος (is inexperienced) λόγου (in the word) δικαιοσύνης (of righteousness); νήπιος (an infant) γάρ (for) ἐστιν (he is);

² ὡς (like) ἀρτιγέννητα (newborn) βρέφη (babies), τὸ (-) λογικὸν (reasonable) ἄδολον (pure) γάλα (milk) ἐπιποθήσατε (crave), ἵνα (so that) ἐν (by) αὐτῷ (it) αὐξηθῆτε (you may grow up) εἰς (in respect to) σωτηρίαν (salvation),

¹⁸ αὐξάνετε (Grow) δὲ (however) ἐν (in) χάριτι (grace), καὶ (and) γνώσει (in knowledge) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) ἡμῶν (of us) καὶ (and) Σωτῆρος (Savior) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ). αὐτῷ (To Him be) ἡ (the) δόξα (glory) καὶ (both) νῦν (now) καὶ (and) εἰς (to) ἡμέραν (the day) αἰῶνος (of eternity). ‹Ἀμήν› (Amen).
