Luke 18 Cross References - Anderson

1 And he spoke a parable to them, that they ought always to pray, and not to become weary, 2 saying: There was in a certain city a judge, who neither feared God nor regarded man. 3 And there was a widow in that city, and she came to him, and said: Avenge me on my opponent at law. 4 And for a while he refused. But afterward he said within himself: Though I fear not God, nor regard man, 5 yet, because this widow troubles me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 6 And the Lord said: Hear what the unjust judge says; 7 and will not God avenge his elect, who cry to him day and night, though he delay long in respect to them? 8 I say to you, that he will avenge them speedily. Yet, when the Son of man comes, will he find the faith on the earth? 9 And he spoke this parable to some, who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and who despised others. 10 Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself: God, I thank thee that I am not as other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12 I fast twice in the week; I give tithes of all that I possess. 13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying: God, be merciful to me a sinner. 14 I say to you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For every one that exalts himself, shall be humbled; but he that humbles himself, shall be exalted. 15 And they brought to him infants also, that he might touch them. But when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. 16 And Jesus called them to him, and said: Let the little children come to me, and hinder them not; for of such is the kingdom of God. 17 Verily I say to you, Whoever shall not receive the kingdom of God, as a little child, shall in no way enter into it. 18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying: Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? 19 And Jesus said to him: Why do you call me good? None is good but one, that is God. 20 You know the commandments, Do not commit adultery; Do not kill; Do not steal; Do not bear false testimony; Honor your father and your mother. 21 He replied: All these have I kept from my youth. 22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him: One thing you yet lack; sell all that you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. 23 And when he heard this, he was very sad, for he was very rich. 24 When Jesus saw that he was very sad, he said: How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into the kingdom of God! 25 For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom, of God. 26 And those who heard it said: Who, then, can be saved? 27 He replied: Things that are impossible with men, are possible with God. 28 Then Peter said: Behold, we have left all and followed thee. 29 And he said to them: Verily I say to you, There is no one that has left house, or parents, or brothers, or wife, or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, 30 who shall not receive manifold more in this time, and in the age to come, eternal life. 31 And he took the twelve aside, and said to them: Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.: 32 For he shall be delivered to the Gentiles, and shall be derided and insulted and spit upon; 33 and they shall scourge him, and put him to death, and on the third day he shall rise again. 34 And they understood none of these things; and this saying was concealed from them; and they understood not the things that were spoken. 35 And it came to pass, that, as he came near to Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the road begging. 36 And when he heard the multitude passing by, he asked what this meant. 37 And they told him that Jesus the Nazarene was passing by. 38 And he cried out and said: Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me. 39 And those who went before rebuked him, that he should be silent. But he cried so much the more: Son of David, have mercy on me. 40 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be brought to him. And when he came near, he asked him, 41 saying: What do you wish me to do for you? he replied: Lord, that I may receive my sight. 42 And Jesus said to him: Receive your sight; your faith has saved you. 43 And he immediately received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God. For without the law, sin was dead. 9 Indeed, I was alive with out the law, once; but when the commandment came, sin be came alive, and I died:

Romans 7:9-11

9 Indeed, I was alive with out the law, once; but when the commandment came, sin be came alive, and I died: 10 and the commandment, which was given for life, I found to be for death. 11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

Romans 10:1-3

1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they may be saved. 2 For I testify for them, that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For being ignorant of God's plan of justification, and seeking to establish their own plan of justification, they have not submitted to God's plan of justification.

Romans 10:3-3

3 For being ignorant of God's plan of justification, and seeking to establish their own plan of justification, they have not submitted to God's plan of justification.

Romans 12:12

12 in hope, be joyful; in affliction, be patient; in prayer, be per severing;

Romans 13:3-4

3 For rulers are not a terror to works that are good, but to those which are evil. Will you, then, not be afraid of the authority? Do that which is good, and you shall receive praise from the same. 4 For he is the minister of God to you for that which is good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for he bears not the sword in vain. For he is the minister of God to inflict punishment on him that does evil.

10 But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you despise your brother? For we all shall stand before the judgment-seat of the Christ.

1 Corinthians 1:26-27

26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise men according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble call you; 27 but God has chosen the foolish things of the world, that he may bring to shame the wise; and the weak things of the world has God chosen, that he may put to shame the strong;

And that you did indeed reign, that we also might reign with you!

1 Corinthians 15:9-10

9 For I am the least of the apostles, and I am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But, by the grace of God, I am what I am; and his grace, which was bestowed on me, has not been bestowed in vain: but I have labored more abundantly than they all; not I, how ever, but the grace of God which was with me.

2 Corinthians 7:9-10

9 Now I rejoice not that you were made sorry, but that you sorrowed in order to repentance. For you sorrowed in a way acceptable to God, that you might in nothing receive injury from us. 10 For godly sorrow works repentance not to be regretted, which leads to salvation: but the sorrow of the world works death. 11 For behold this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner; what earnestness it produced in you; what defense of yourselves; what indignation; what fear; what strong affection; what zeal; what assertion of right. In all respects you have shown yourselves to be blame less in this matter.

Galatians 3:10-13

10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that does not continue in all things written in the book of the law to do them. 11 But that no one is justified by law in the sight of God, is evident: for the just by faith shall live. 12 The law, indeed, is not of faith; but he that does these things shall live by them. 13 Christ has bought us off from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us: (for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree:)

Philippians 3:5

5 circumcised the eighth day, of the race of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; as it respects law, a Pharisee; 6 as it respects zeal, persecuting the church; as it respects righteousness which is by law, blameless.

Philippians 3:6

6 as it respects zeal, persecuting the church; as it respects righteousness which is by law, blameless. 7 But the things which were gain to me, these I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yes, verily, I also count all things to be loss, for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, on account of whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them to be refuse, that I may gain Christ,

10 night and day praying exceedingly that we may see your face, and perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

1 Thessalonians 5:1-3

1 Timothy 1:12-16

12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me power, because he counted me faithful, and put me into the ministry; 13 me, I say, who before was a reviler and a persecutor and an overbearing man. But I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief: 14 and the grace of our Lord was very abundant with faith, and love which is in Christ Jesus. 15 Assuredly true and worthy of all acceptation is this saying: that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

1 Timothy 1:15

15 Assuredly true and worthy of all acceptation is this saying: that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. 16 But for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all long-suffering, for an example to those who might afterward believe on him in order to life eternal.

Hebrews 4:12-13

12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, and pierces even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature which is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked, and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give an ac count.

Hebrews 4:16

16 Let us come, therefore, with boldness, to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and find grace to help in every time of need.

5 Hear, my be loved brethren: Has not God chosen the poor of this world, rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which God has promised to those who love him? 6 But you dishonor the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you, and do they not themselves drag you to the judgment-seats? 7 Do they not themselves revile that honorable name which is called upon you? 8 If, however, you fulfill the law of highest excellence, according to the scripture, You shall love your neighbor as yourself, you do well. 9 But if you show partiality for persons, you work sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
