²² You worship you know not what; we know what we worship; for salvation is of the Jews.

⁴⁷ and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

²³ For as I was passing through, and looking attentively at the objects of your worship, I dis covered also an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore you ignorantly worship, him I make known to you.

³⁰ Yet the times of this ignorance God overlooked; but now, he commands all men everywhere to repent:

¹ What advantage then has the Jew, or what profit has circumcision? ² Much in every respect; but chiefly that the oracles of God were intrusted to them.

⁴ who are Israelites, to whom belong the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service, and the promises; ⁵ to whom belong the fathers, and of whom is the Christ, as it respects the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.

¹⁴ For it is very clear that our Lord sprung from Judah, of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood.
