¹⁰ Jesus said to him: He that has bathed needs nothing else save to wash his feet, but is wholly clean. And you are clean, but not all.

¹² And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.

³ Now are you pure, through the word which I have spoken to you.

²⁰ Now, if I do that which I wish not to do, it is no longer I that do it, but sin that dwells in me. ²¹ I find, then, this law: That, when I wish to do good, evil is present with me. ²² For, in the inward man, I delight in the law of God: ²³ but I perceive another law in my members, at war with the law of my mind, and making me a captive to the law of sin, which is in my members.

¹⁷ So, then, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

²¹ for he has made him, who knew no sin, a sin-offering for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in him.

¹ Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every pollution of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

²² that, as to your former life, you put off the old man, which is corrupt, according to its deceitful desires, ²³ and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, ²⁴ and put on the new man, which, according to the will of God, is created in righteousness and true holiness.

²⁶ that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the bath of water through the word, ²⁷ in order that he might present it to himself a glorious church, having neither stain, nor wrinkle, nor any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

²³ Now the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ since he relies only on meats and drinks and various immersions, ordinances in deed of the flesh, which were imposed till the time of reformation.

² For in many things we all offend. If any one offends not in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.

⁷ But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin. ⁸ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. ⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, so that he will forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ¹⁰ If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
