⁵ which endurance, of yours is a proof of the righteous judgment of God, in order that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you suffer:

³⁵ But those who shall be accounted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage.

³⁶ Watch, therefore, and pray at all times, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

⁴⁶ But Paul and Barnabas, speaking boldly, said: It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first: but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, lo! we turn to tho Gentiles.

²² strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, that through many afflictions we mast enter the kingdom of God.

⁵ But, according to your hard and impenitent heart, you treasure up to yourself wrath for a day of wrath, and of the revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

¹⁷ and, if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified together.

¹ I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, exhort you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called;

²⁸ and in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God.

¹² giving thanks to the Father, who has made us fit for a portion of the inheritance of the saints in light:

¹⁴ For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God in Judea which are in Christ Jesus; for you, also, have suffered the same things from your own countrymen, that they have suffered from the Jews,

⁶ since, indeed, it is a righteous thing with God, to repay affliction to those who afflict you, ⁷ and to you that are afflicted, rest with us, at the revelation of our Lord Jesus from heaven with his mighty angels,

¹¹ In order to which, we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of this calling, and may fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power,

¹² if we are patient, we shall also reign with him; if we deny him, he will also deny us;

³² But remember the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great conflict of sufferings; ³³ partly, while you became a public spectacle, by reproaches and afflictions: partly, while you became partakers with those who were so treated.

¹⁴ If you are reproached on account of Christ, happy are you: for the glorious Spirit of God rests upon you. On their part he is reviled, but on your part he is glorified: ¹⁵ for no one of you should suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil-doer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. ¹⁶ But if any one suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God on this account. ¹⁷ For the time has come that judgment must begin at the house of God; and if it begin first at us, what shall be the end of those who obey not the gospel of God? ¹⁸ And if the righteous man is hardly saved, where shall the ungodly man and the sinner appear?

⁴ Yet you have a few names in Sardis that have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white, for they are worthy.

⁴ Who will not fear thee, Lord, and glorify thy name? For thou alone art holy; for all nations shall come and worship before thee: because thy judgments are made manifest.

⁷ And I heard a voice from the altar saying: Even so; Lord God Al mighty, true and just are thy judgments.

² for true and righteous are his judgments, for he has judged the great harlot that corrupted the earth with her lewdness; and he has avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
