The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart,
There is no fear of God before his eyes. ² For he flattereth himself in his own eyes,
That his iniquity will not be found out and be hated. ³ The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit:
He hath ceased to be wise [and] to do good. ⁴ He deviseth iniquity upon his bed;
He setteth himself in a way that is not good;
He abhorreth not evil.
⁵ Thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, is in the heavens;
Thy faithfulness [reacheth] unto the skies. ⁶ Thy righteousness is like the mountains of God;
Thy judgments are a great deep:
O Jehovah, thou preservest man and beast. ⁷ How precious is thy lovingkindness, O God!
And the children of men take refuge under the shadow of thy wings. ⁸ They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house;
And thou wilt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. ⁹ For with thee is the fountain of life:
In thy light shall we see light. ¹⁰ Oh continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee,
And thy righteousness to the upright in heart. ¹¹ Let not the foot of pride come against me,
And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away. ¹² There are the workers of iniquity fallen:
They are thrust down, and shall not be able to rise.

¹¹ And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake.

⁵ So Moses the servant of Jehovah died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of Jehovah.

¹³ And Samuel came to Saul; and Saul said unto him, Blessed be thou of Jehovah: I have performed the commandment of Jehovah. ¹⁴ And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?

¹ For the Chief Musician. [A Psalm] of David the servant of Jehovah, who spake unto Jehovah the words of this song in the day that Jehovah delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: and he said,

I love thee, O Jehovah, my strength.

¹ A Prayer of Moses the man of God.

Lord, thou hast been our dwelling-place
In all generations.

¹ Praise ye Jehovah.
Blessed is the man that feareth Jehovah,
That delighteth greatly in his commandments.

¹² And in thy lovingkindness cut off mine enemies,
And destroy all them that afflict my soul;
For I am thy servant.

¹³ The fear of Jehovah is to hate evil:
Pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way,
And the perverse mouth, do I hate.

⁶ By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for;
And by the fear of Jehovah men depart from evil.

¹¹ Even a child maketh himself known by his doings,
Whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.

¹³ [This is] the end of the matter; all hath been heard: Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole [duty] of man.

¹⁶ By their fruits ye shall know them. Do [men] gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? ¹⁷ Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but the corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. ¹⁸ A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. ¹⁹ Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. ²⁰ Therefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

³³ Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by its fruit. ³⁴ Ye offspring of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

¹⁸ There is no fear of God before their eyes.

²⁴ And the Lord's servant must not strive, but be gentle towards all, apt to teach, forbearing,

¹ Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,

¹⁶ They profess that they know God; but by their works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

¹ James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are of the Dispersion, greeting.

¹ Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and [the] Saviour Jesus Christ:

¹ Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ:

¹ The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show unto his servants, [even] the things which must shortly come to pass: and he sent and signified [it] by his angel unto his servant John;

¹⁹ and it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, to destroy the moist with the dry.

¹⁸ and Jehovah sent thee on a journey, and said, Go, and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed. ¹⁹ Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of Jehovah, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah? ²⁰ And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of Jehovah, and have gone the way which Jehovah sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. ²¹ But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the devoted things, to sacrifice unto Jehovah thy God in Gilgal. ²² And Samuel said, Hath Jehovah as great delight in burnt-offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. ²³ For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim. Because thou hast rejected the word of Jehovah, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
²⁴ And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned; for I have transgressed the commandment of Jehovah, and thy words, because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.

¹³ So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against Jehovah, because of the word of Jehovah, which he kept not; and also for that he asked counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to inquire [thereby], ¹⁴ and inquired not of Jehovah: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.

³ For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire,
And the covetous renounceth, [yea], contemneth Jehovah.

¹⁸ Though while he lived he blessed his soul
(And men praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself),

²³ How canst thou say, I am not defiled, I have not gone after the Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: [thou art] a swift dromedary traversing her ways;

³⁴ Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the innocent poor: thou didst not find them breaking in; but it is because of all these things. ³⁵ Yet thou saidst, I am innocent; surely his anger is turned away from me. Behold, I will enter into judgment with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned.

⁹ The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it?

⁷ [He is] a trafficker, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress. ⁸ And Ephraim said, Surely I am become rich, I have found me wealth: in all my labors they shall find in me no iniquity that were sin.

²⁹ But he, desiring to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbor?

¹⁴ And the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things; and they scoffed at him. ¹⁵ And he said unto them, { Ye are they that justify yourselves in the sight of men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

⁹ What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we before laid to the charge both of Jews and Greeks, that they are all under sin;

⁹ And I was alive apart from the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died;

³ For being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

⁶ And the Spirit of God came mightily upon Saul when he heard those words, and his anger was kindled greatly. ⁷ And he took a yoke of oxen, and cut them in pieces, and sent them throughout all the borders of Israel by the hand of messengers, saying, Whosoever cometh not forth after Saul and after Samuel, so shall it be done unto his oxen. And the dread of Jehovah fell on the people, and they came out as one man. ⁸ And he numbered them in Bezek; and the children of Israel were three hundred thousand, and the men of Judah thirty thousand. ⁹ And they said unto the messengers that came, Thus shall ye say unto the men of Jabesh-gilead, To-morrow, by the time the sun is hot, ye shall have deliverance. And the messengers came and told the men of Jabesh; and they were glad. ¹⁰ Therefore the men of Jabesh said, To-morrow we will come out unto you, and ye shall do with us all that seemeth good unto you. ¹¹ And it was so on the morrow, that Saul put the people in three companies; and they came into the midst of the camp in the morning watch, and smote the Ammonites until the heat of the day: and it came to pass, that they that remained were scattered, so that not two of them were left together.
¹² And the people said unto Samuel, Who is he that said, Shall Saul reign over us? bring the men, that we may put them to death. ¹³ And Saul said, There shall not a man be put to death this day; for to-day Jehovah hath wrought deliverance in Israel.

¹³ And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly; thou hast not kept the commandment of Jehovah thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would Jehovah have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever. ¹⁴ But now thy kingdom shall not continue: Jehovah hath sought him a man after his own heart, and Jehovah hath appointed him to be prince over his people, because thou hast not kept that which Jehovah commanded thee.

²⁶ And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee; for thou hast rejected the word of Jehovah, and Jehovah hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.

¹⁴ Now the Spirit of Jehovah departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from Jehovah troubled him.

²¹ And Saul said, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Wherefore Saul said to David, Thou shalt this day be my son-in-law a second time.

⁶ And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan: and Saul sware, As Jehovah liveth, he shall not be put to death. ⁷ And Jonathan called David, and Jonathan showed him all those things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence, as beforetime.

²¹ Then said Saul, I have sinned: return, my son David; for I will no more do thee harm, because my life was precious in thine eyes this day: behold, I have played the fool, and have erred exceedingly.

⁹ For there is no faithfulness in their mouth;
Their inward part is very wickedness;
Their throat is an open sepulchre;
They flatter with their tongue.

⁷ His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression:
Under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.

² They speak falsehood every one with his neighbor:
With flattering lip, and with a double heart, do they speak. ³ Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips,
The tongue that speaketh great things;

²¹ His mouth was smooth as butter,
But his heart was war:
His words were softer than oil,
Yet were they drawn swords.

³ The wicked are estranged from the womb:
They go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.

⁸ Consider, ye brutish among the people;
And ye fools, when will ye be wise?

⁵ But as for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways,
Jehovah will lead them forth with the workers of iniquity.
Peace be upon Israel.

³ They have sharpened their tongue like a serpent;
Adders' poison is under their lips. [Selah

²² For my people are foolish, they know me not; they are sottish children, and they have no understanding; they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

⁶ and them that are turned back from following Jehovah; and those that have not sought Jehovah, nor inquired after him.

¹⁵ Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might ensnare him in [his] talk. ¹⁶ And they send to him their disciples, with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, and carest not for any one: for thou regardest not the person of men. ¹⁷ Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Cζsar, or not? ¹⁸ But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, { Why make ye trial of me, ye hypocrites?

³⁵ And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, trying him:

³⁹ But we are not of them that shrink back unto perdition; but of them that have faith unto the saving of the soul.

¹⁹ They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us: but [they went out], that they might be made manifest that they all are not of us.

¹¹ And Saul sent messengers unto David's house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal, David's wife, told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to-night, to-morrow thou wilt be slain.

¹⁴ Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made fifty cubits high, and in the morning speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made.

⁴ And the king said, Who is in the court? Now Haman was come into the outward court of the king's house, to speak unto the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him.

¹⁶ How much less one that is abominable and corrupt,
A man that drinketh iniquity like water!

¹² They also that seek after my life lay snares [for me];
And they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things,
And meditate deceits all the day long.

³ Thou lovest evil more than good,
And lying rather than to speak righteousness. [Selah

¹⁰ O ye that love Jehovah, hate evil:
He preserveth the souls of his saints;
He delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

¹⁶ For they sleep not, except they do evil;
And their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.

²³ These also are [sayings] of the wise.

To have respect of persons in judgment is not good.

² I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, that walk in a way that is not good, after their own thoughts;

¹⁶ Thus saith Jehovah, Stand ye in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way; and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls: but they said, We will not walk [therein].

⁶ I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repenteth him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turneth to his course, as a horse that rusheth headlong in the battle.

² Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging-place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they are all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men. ³ And they bend their tongue, [as it were] their bow, for falsehood; and they are grown strong in the land, but not for truth: for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith Jehovah. ⁴ Take ye heed every one of his neighbor, and trust ye not in any brother; for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will go about with slanders. ⁵ And they will deceive every one his neighbor, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies; they weary themselves to commit iniquity. ⁶ Thy habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith Jehovah.
⁷ Therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how [else] should I do, because of the daughter of my people? ⁸ Their tongue is a deadly arrow; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, but in his heart he layeth wait for him. ⁹ Shall I not visit them for these things? saith Jehovah; shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

⁶ For they have made ready their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire. ⁷ They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me.

¹⁵ Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish justice in the gate: it may be that Jehovah, the God of hosts, will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.

¹ Woe to them that devise iniquity and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

⁸ He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth Jehovah require of thee, but to do justly, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with thy God?

¹ Now when morning was come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:

¹² And when it was day, the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.

³² who, knowing the ordinance of God, that they that practise such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also consent with them that practise them.

⁹ Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

² I know thy works, and thy toil and patience, and that thou canst not bear evil men, and didst try them that call themselves apostles, and they are not, and didst find them false;

¹ For the Chief Musician. Maschil of David; when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech.

Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man?
The lovingkindness of God [endureth] continually.

¹⁰ For thy lovingkindness is great unto the heavens,
And thy truth unto the skies.

² For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever;
Thy faithfulness wilt thou establish in the very heavens.

² To show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning,
And thy faithfulness every night,

⁵ For Jehovah is good; his lovingkindness [endureth] for ever,
And his faithfulness unto all generations.

¹¹ For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is his lovingkindness toward them that fear him.

⁴ For thy lovingkindness is great above the heavens;
And thy truth [reacheth] unto the skies.

⁷ let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto Jehovah, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. ⁸ For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith Jehovah. ⁹ For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

³⁵ Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

¹⁸ that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us: ¹⁹ which we have as an anchor of the soul, [a hope] both sure and stedfast and entering into that which is within the veil; ²⁰ whither as a forerunner Jesus entered for us, having become a high priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

²⁵ That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked, that so the righteous should be as the wicked; that be far from thee: shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

²⁸ Entreat Jehovah; for there hath been enough of [these] mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer.

⁴ The Rock, his work is perfect;
For all his ways are justice:
A God of faithfulness and without iniquity,
Just and right is he.

¹⁵ And there was a trembling in the camp, in the field, and among all the people; the garrison, and the spoilers, they also trembled; and the earth quaked: so there was an exceeding great trembling.

⁶ Thou art Jehovah, even thou alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all things that are thereon, the seas and all that is in them, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.

²⁰ If I have sinned, what do I unto thee, O thou watcher of men?
Why hast thou set me as a mark for thee,
So that I am a burden to myself?

⁷ Canst thou by searching find out God?
Canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection? ⁸ It is high as heaven; what canst thou do?
Deeper than Sheol; what canst thou know? ⁹ The measure thereof is longer than the earth,
And broader than the sea.

²³ [Touching] the Almighty, we cannot find him out:
He is excellent in power;
And in justice and plenteous righteousness he will not afflict.

¹⁹ Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high;
Thou who hast done great things, O God, who is like unto thee?

¹⁹ Thy way was in the sea,
And thy paths in the great waters,
And thy footsteps were not known.

⁵ How great are thy works, O Jehovah!
Thy thoughts are very deep.

² Clouds and darkness are round about him:
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.

¹⁴ He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle,
And herb for the service of man;
That he may bring forth food out of the earth, ¹⁵ And wine that maketh glad the heart of man,
[And] oil to make his face to shine,
And bread that strengtheneth man's heart. ¹⁶ The trees of Jehovah are filled [with moisture],
The cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted; ¹⁷ Where the birds make their nests:
As for the stork, the fir-trees are her house. ¹⁸ The high mountains are for the wild goats;
The rocks are a refuge for the conies. ¹⁹ He appointed the moon for seasons:
The sun knoweth his going down. ²⁰ Thou makest darkness, and it is night,
Wherein all the beasts of the forest creep forth. ²¹ The young lions roar after their prey,
And seek their food from God. ²² The sun ariseth, they get them away,
And lay them down in their dens. ²³ Man goeth forth unto his work And to his labor until the evening. ²⁴ O Jehovah, how manifold are thy works!
In wisdom hast thou made them all:
The earth is full of thy riches. ²⁵ Yonder is the sea, great and wide,
Wherein are things creeping innumerable,
Both small and great beasts. ²⁶ There go the ships;
There is leviathan, whom thou hast formed to play therein. ²⁷ These wait all for thee,
That thou mayest give them their food in due season. ²⁸ Thou givest unto them, they gather;
Thou openest thy hand, they are satisfied with good. ²⁹ Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled;
Thou takest away their breath, they die,
And return to their dust. ³⁰ Thou sendest forth thy Spirit, they are created;
And thou renewest the face of the ground. ³¹ Let the glory of Jehovah endure for ever;
Let Jehovah rejoice in his works: ³² Who looketh on the earth, and it trembleth;
He toucheth the mountains, and they smoke. ³³ I will sing unto Jehovah as long as I live:
I will sing praise to my God while I have any being. ³⁴ Let thy meditation be sweet unto him:
I will rejoice in Jehovah. ³⁵ Let sinners be consumed out of the earth.
And let the wicked be no more.
Bless Jehovah, O my soul.
Praise ye Jehovah.

⁹ Jehovah is good to all;
And his tender mercies are over all his works.

¹⁶ Thou openest thy hand,
And satisfiest the desire of every living thing. ¹⁷ Jehovah is righteous in all his ways,
And gracious in all his works.

⁹ He giveth to the beast his food,
[And] to the young ravens which cry.

²⁸ Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard? The everlasting God, Jehovah, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary; there is no searching of his understanding.

¹⁹ I have not spoken in secret, in a place of the land of darkness; I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I, Jehovah, speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.

²¹ Declare ye, and bring [it] forth; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath showed this from ancient time? who hath declared it of old? have not I, Jehovah? and there is no God else besides me, a just God and a Saviour; there is none besides me. ²² Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is none else. ²³ By myself have I sworn, the word is gone forth from my mouth [in] righteousness, and shall not return, that unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. ²⁴ Only in Jehovah, it is said of me, is righteousness and strength; even to him shall men come; and all they that were incensed against him shall be put to shame.

¹ Righteous art thou, O Jehovah, when I contend with thee; yet would I reason the cause with thee: wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they at ease that deal very treacherously?

¹¹ and should not I have regard for Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?

²⁹ Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father: ³⁰ but the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

²⁵ At that season Jesus answered and said, { I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes: ²⁶ yea, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in thy sight.

²⁵ whom God set forth [to be] a propitiation, through faith, in his blood, to show his righteousness because of the passing over of the sins done aforetime, in the forbearance of God;

³³ O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past tracing out!

¹⁰ For to this end we labor and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of them that believe.

⁶ And Jehovah passed by before him, and proclaimed, Jehovah, Jehovah, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth;

¹² Jehovah recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of Jehovah, the God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to take refuge.

⁸ Keep me as the apple of the eye;
Hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

¹⁹ Oh how great is thy goodness,
Which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee,
Which thou hast wrought for them that take refuge in thee,
Before the sons of men!

Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me;
For my soul taketh refuge in thee:
Yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I take refuge,
Until [these] calamities be overpast.

⁷ For thou hast been my help,
And in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

⁵ For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive,
And abundant in lovingkindness unto all them that call upon thee.

¹⁵ But thou, O Lord, art a God merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth.

⁴ He will cover thee with his pinions,
And under his wings shalt thou take refuge:
His truth is a shield and a buckler.

¹⁷ How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!

⁷ They shall utter the memory of thy great goodness,
And shall sing of thy righteousness. ⁸ Jehovah is gracious, and merciful;
Slow to anger, and of great lovingkindness.

³⁴ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen [gathereth] her own brood under her wings, and ye would not!

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.

⁶ Because it is contained in scripture,
Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious:
And he that believeth on him shall not be put to shame. ⁷ For you therefore that believe is the preciousness: but for such as disbelieve,
The stone which the builders rejected,
The same was made the head of the corner;

⁴ whereby he hath granted unto us his precious and exceeding great promises; that through these ye may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.

¹ Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God; and [such] we are. For this cause the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

⁹ Herein was the love of God manifested in us, that God hath sent his only begotten Son into the world that we might live through him. ¹⁰ Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins.

¹⁷ He shall not look upon the rivers,
The flowing streams of honey and butter.

¹¹ Thou wilt show me the path of life:
In thy presence is fulness of joy;
In thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

¹⁵ As for me, I shall behold thy face in righteousness;
I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with [beholding] thy form.

⁴ There is a river, the streams whereof make glad the city of God,
The holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.

⁵ My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness;
And my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips;

⁴ Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach [unto thee],
That he may dwell in thy courts:
We shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house,
Thy holy temple.

¹ I am come into my garden, my sister, [my] bride:
I have gathered my myrrh with my spice;
I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey;
I have drunk my wine with my milk.
Eat, O friends;
Drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved.

⁶ And in this mountain will Jehovah of hosts make unto all peoples a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.

²⁰ The beasts of the field shall honor me, the jackals and the ostriches; because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen,

²¹ And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts; he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them; he clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out.

¹ Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. ² Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

¹¹ and Jehovah will guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in dry places, and make strong thy bones; and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

¹² And they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow unto the goodness of Jehovah, to the grain, and to the new wine, and to the oil, and to the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all. ¹³ Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old together; for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow. ¹⁴ And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith Jehovah.

¹⁷ For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! grain shall make the young men flourish, and new wine the virgins.

⁶ Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

³⁷ Now on the last day, the great [day] of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, { If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink.

¹ And he showed me a river of water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb, ² in the midst of the street thereof. And on this side of the river and on that was the tree of life, bearing twelve [manner of] fruits, yielding its fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. ³ And there shall be no curse any more: and the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be therein: and his servants shall serve him; ⁴ and they shall see his face; and his name [shall be] on their foreheads. ⁵ And there shall be night no more; and they need no light of lamp, neither light of sun; for the Lord God shall give them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
⁶ And he said unto me, These words are faithful and true: and the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent his angel to show unto his servants the things which must shortly come to pass. ⁷ And behold, I come quickly. Blessed is he that keepeth the words of the prophecy of this book.
⁸ And I John am he that heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel that showed me these things. ⁹ And he saith unto me, See thou do it not: I am a fellow-servant with thee and with thy brethren the prophets, and with them that keep the words of this book: worship God.
¹⁰ And he saith unto me, Seal not up the words of the prophecy of this book; for the time is at hand. ¹¹ He that is unrighteous, let him do unrighteousness still: and he that is filthy, let him be made filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him do righteousness still: and he that is holy, let him be made holy still. ¹² { Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to render to each man according as his work is. ¹³ I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.} ¹⁴ Blessed are they that wash their robes, that they may have the right to come to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city. ¹⁵ Without are the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one that loveth and maketh a lie.
¹⁶ I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright, the morning star.
¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And he that heareth, let him say, Come. And he that is athirst, let him come: he that will, let him take the water of life freely.

³ When his lamp shined upon my head,
And by his light I walked through darkness;

Jehovah is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
Jehovah is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?

¹⁸ But the path of the righteous is as the dawning light,
That shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

⁵ O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of Jehovah.

³ Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

¹ Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of Jehovah is risen upon thee. ² For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but Jehovah will arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

¹⁹ The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but Jehovah will be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

¹³ For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

² But unto you that fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings; and ye shall go forth, and gambol as calves of the stall.

⁸ He was not the light, but [came] that he might bear witness of the light. ⁹ There was the true light, [even the light] which lighteth every man, coming into the world.

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

¹⁴ but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up unto eternal life.}

³⁷ Now on the last day, the great [day] of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, { If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink. ³⁸ He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, from within him shall flow rivers of living water.} ³⁹ But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believed on him were to receive: for the Spirit was not yet [given]; because Jesus was not yet glorified.

¹² Again therefore Jesus spake unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.

⁶ Seeing it is God, that said, Light shall shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, neither shadow that is cast by turning.

⁹ But ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for [God's] own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

⁷ but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

⁶ And he said unto me, They are come to pass. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

²³ And the city hath no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine upon it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the lamp thereof [is] the Lamb.

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And he that heareth, let him say, Come. And he that is athirst, let him come: he that will, let him take the water of life freely.

⁸ Jehovah ministereth judgment to the peoples:
Judge me, O Jehovah, according to my righteousness, and to mine integrity that is in me. ⁹ Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish thou the righteous:
For the righteous God trieth the minds and hearts. ¹⁰ My shield is with God,
Who saveth the upright in heart.

¹⁰ And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee;
For thou, Jehovah, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

²⁴ Therefore hath Jehovah recompensed me according to my righteousness,
According to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight. ²⁵ With the merciful thou wilt show thyself merciful;
With the perfect man thou wilt show thyself perfect;

¹⁴ For Jehovah will not cast off his people,
Neither will he forsake his inheritance. ¹⁵ For judgment shall return unto righteousness;
And all the upright in heart shall follow it.

¹⁰ O ye that love Jehovah, hate evil:
He preserveth the souls of his saints;
He delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. ¹¹ Light is sown for the righteous,
And gladness for the upright in heart.

¹⁷ But the lovingkindness of Jehovah is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him,
And his righteousness unto children's children;

¹ A Psalm of David.

Hear my prayer, O Jehovah; give ear to my supplications:
In thy faithfulness answer me, [and] in thy righteousness. ² And enter not into judgment with thy servant;
For in thy sight no man living is righteous.

⁶ Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath; for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment; and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
⁷ Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye dismayed at their revilings. ⁸ For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool; but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation unto all generations.

¹⁶ He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well. Was not this to know me? saith Jehovah.

⁷ And I will give them a heart to know me, that I am Jehovah: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God; for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.

³ Jehovah appeared of old unto me, [saying], Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

⁹ Even as the Father hath loved me, I also have loved you: abide ye in my love. ¹⁰ If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

³ And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, [even] Jesus Christ.

⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith: ⁸ henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give to me at that day; and not to me only, but also to all them that have loved his appearing.

¹¹ And they shall not teach every man his fellow-citizen,
And every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord:
For all shall know me,
From the least to the greatest of them.

⁵ who by the power of God are guarded through faith unto a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

¹¹ Pour forth the overflowings of thine anger;
And look upon every one that is proud, and abase him. ¹² Look on every one that is proud, [and] bring him low;
And tread down the wicked where they stand.

² In the pride of the wicked the poor is hotly pursued;
Let them be taken in the devices that they have conceived.

³ Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips,
The tongue that speaketh great things; ⁴ Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail;
Our lips are our own: who is lord over us? ⁵ Because of the oppression of the poor, because of the sighing of the needy,
Now will I arise, saith Jehovah;
I will set him in the safety he panteth for.

⁸ I have set Jehovah always before me:
Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

⁸ Keep me as the apple of the eye;
Hide me under the shadow of thy wings, ⁹ From the wicked that oppress me,
My deadly enemies, that compass me about. ¹⁰ They are inclosed in their own fat:
With their mouth they speak proudly. ¹¹ They have now compassed us in our steps;
They set their eyes to cast [us] down to the earth. ¹² He is like a lion that is greedy of his prey,
And as it were a young lion lurking in secret places. ¹³ Arise, O Jehovah,
Confront him, cast him down:
Deliver my soul from the wicked by thy sword; ¹⁴ From men by thy hand, O Jehovah,
From men of the world, whose portion is in [this] life,
And whose belly thou fillest with thy treasure:
They are satisfied with children,
And leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

⁷ For the king trusteth in Jehovah;
And through the lovingkindness of the Most High he shall not be moved. ⁸ Thy hand will find out all thine enemies;
Thy right hand will find out those that hate thee.

⁶ He only is my rock and my salvation:
[He is] my high tower;
I shall not be moved.

⁵¹ The proud have had me greatly in derision:
[Yet] have I not swerved from thy law.

⁶⁹ The proud have forged a lie against me:
With my whole heart will I keep thy precepts.

⁸⁵ The proud have digged pits for me,
Who are not according to thy law.

¹²² Be surety for thy servant for good:
Let not the proud oppress me.

³ Have mercy upon us, O Jehovah, have mercy upon us;
For we are exceedingly filled with contempt. ⁴ Our soul is exceedingly filled
With the scoffing of those that are at ease,
And with the contempt of the proud.

¹ A Song of Ascents.

They that trust in Jehovah
Are as mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abideth for ever. ² As the mountains are round about Jerusalem,
So Jehovah is round about his people
From this time forth and for evermore. ³ For the sceptre of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous;
That the righteous put not forth their hands unto iniquity.

²³ and I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee, that have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over; and thou hast laid thy back as the ground, and as the street, to them that go over.

³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven; for all his works are truth, and his ways justice; and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ Even as it is written,
For thy sake we are killed all the day long;
We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter. ³⁷ Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

³¹ So let all thine enemies perish, O Jehovah:
But let them that love him be as the sun when he goeth forth in his might.
And the land had rest forty years.

⁵ Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

¹⁶ Jehovah hath made himself known, he hath executed judgment:
The wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. [Higgaion.
Selah.

³⁸ I will smite them through, so that they shall not be able to rise:
They shall fall under my feet.

²³ But thou, O God, wilt bring them down into the pit of destruction:
Bloodthirsty and deceitful men shall not live out half their days;
But I will trust in thee.

¹⁰ The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance:
He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked; ¹¹ So that men shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous:
Verily there is a God that judgeth in the earth.

⁷ But God will shoot at them;
With an arrow suddenly shall they be wounded. ⁸ So they shall be made to stumble, their own tongue being against them:
All that see them shall wag the head. ⁹ And all men shall fear;
And they shall declare the work of God,
And shall wisely consider of his doing.

¹⁰ Let burning coals fall upon them:
Let them be cast into the fire,
Into deep pits, whence they shall not rise.

⁶⁴ and thou shalt say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise again because of the evil that I will bring upon her; and they shall be weary.

Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.

⁸ rendering vengeance to them that know not God, and to them that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus: ⁹ who shall suffer punishment, [even] eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might,

⁴ Who shall not fear, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy; for all the nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy righteous acts have been made manifest.

¹ After these things I heard as it were a great voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying,
Hallelujah; Salvation, and glory, and power, belong to our God: ² for true and righteous are his judgments; for he hath judged the great harlot, her that corrupted the earth with her fornication, and he hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. ³ And a second time they say, Hallelujah. And her smoke goeth up for ever and ever. ⁴ And the four and twenty elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshipped God that sitteth on the throne, saying,
Amen; Hallelujah. ⁵ And a voice came forth from the throne, saying,
Give praise to our God, all ye his servants, ye that fear him, the small and the great. ⁶ And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunders, saying,
Hallelujah: for the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigneth.
