¹⁷ Therefore doth the Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.

¹ Behold, my servant, whom I uphold; my chosen, in whom my soul delighteth: I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.

²¹ It pleased Jehovah, for his righteousness' sake, to magnify the law, and make it honorable.

⁷ He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he opened not his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth. ⁸ By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who [among them] considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living for the transgression of my people to whom the stroke [was due]? ⁹ And they made his grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in his death; although he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
¹⁰ Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand. ¹¹ He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by the knowledge of himself shall my righteous servant justify many; and he shall bear their iniquities. ¹² Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors: yet he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

²⁵ There arose therefore a questioning on the part of John's disciples with a Jew about purifying.

¹¹ I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep.

¹⁵ even as the Father knoweth me, and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.

¹⁸ No one taketh it away from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment received I from my Father.}

⁹ Even as the Father hath loved me, I also have loved you: abide ye in my love. ¹⁰ If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

⁴ I glorified thee on the earth, having accomplished the work which thou hast given me to do. ⁵ And now, Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

²⁴ Father, I desire that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. ²⁵ O righteous Father, the world knew thee not, but I knew thee; and these knew that thou didst send me; ²⁶ and I made known unto them thy name, and will make it known; that the love wherewith thou lovedst me may be in them, and I in them.}

⁹ But we behold him who hath been made a little lower than the angels, [even] Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for every [man].
