¹⁸ For Sheol cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee:
They that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.

³³ So they, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into Sheol: and the earth closed upon them, and they perished from among the assembly.

⁵ For in death there is no remembrance of thee:
In Sheol who shall give thee thanks?

⁹ What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit?
Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?

¹⁰ Wilt thou show wonders to the dead?
Shall they that are deceased arise and praise thee? [Selah ¹¹ Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave?
Or thy faithfulness in Destruction?

¹⁷ The dead praise not Jehovah,
Neither any that go down into silence; ¹⁸ But we will bless Jehovah
From this time forth and for evermore.
Praise ye Jehovah.

³² The wicked is thrust down in his evil-doing;
But the righteous hath a refuge in his death.

¹⁰ Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do [it] with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, whither thou goest.

¹² but the sons of the kingdom shall be cast forth into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.}

⁴⁶ And these shall go away into eternal punishment: but the righteous into eternal life.}

²⁶ And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, that they that would pass from hence to you may not be able, and that none may cross over from thence to us. ²⁷ And he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house; ²⁸ for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. ²⁹ But Abraham saith, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. ³⁰ And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one go to them from the dead, they will repent. ³¹ And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, if one rise from the dead.}
