¹ As the hart pants after the water brooks, so pants my soul after you, O God.

¹ Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men:

³² And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained to Korah, and all their goods.

¹¹ Notwithstanding the children of Korah died not.

³³ And these are they that waited with their children. Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman a singer, the son of Joel, the son of Shemuel, ³⁴ The son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah, ³⁵ The son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai, ³⁶ The son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah, ³⁷ The son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah,

¹ Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was: ² Of the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of Asaph, which prophesied according to the order of the king. ³ Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD. ⁴ Of Heman: the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamtiezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth: ⁵ All these were the sons of Heman the king's seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

¹ We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work you did in their days, in the times of old.

¹ My heart is gushing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

¹ God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

¹ O clap your hands, all you people; shout to God with the voice of triumph.

¹ Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.

¹ Hear this, all you people; give ear, all you inhabitants of the world:

¹ O God, you are my God; early will I seek you: my soul thirsts for you, my flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; ² To see your power and your glory, so as I have seen you in the sanctuary.

¹ How amiable are your tabernacles, O LORD of hosts! ² My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh cries out for the living God.

¹ Lord, you have been favorable to your land: you have brought back the captivity of Jacob.

¹³¹ I opened my mouth, and panted: for I longed for your commandments.

⁶ I stretch forth my hands to you: my soul thirsts after you, as a thirsty land. Selah. ⁷ Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit fails: hide not your face from me, lest I be like to them that go down into the pit.

⁸ Yes, in the way of your judgments, O LORD, have we waited for you; the desire of our soul is to your name, and to the remembrance of you. ⁹ With my soul have I desired you in the night; yes, with my spirit within me will I seek you early: for when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
