³⁰ And the apostles gathered themselves together to Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.

² Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

⁷ And he called to him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; ⁸ And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no money, no bread, no money in their purse: ⁹ But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats. ¹⁰ And he said to them, In what place soever you enter into an house, there abide till you depart from that place. ¹¹ And whoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when you depart there, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Truly I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. ¹² And they went out, and preached that men should repent. ¹³ And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.

¹³ And when it was day, he called to him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;

¹⁰ And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.

¹⁷ And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject to us through your name.

⁵ And the apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith.

¹⁴ And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.

¹⁰ It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things to the apostles.

¹ The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, ² Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments to the apostles whom he had chosen:

¹⁸ And when they were come to him, he said to them, You know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons, ¹⁹ Serving the LORD with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews: ²⁰ And how I kept back nothing that was profitable to you, but have showed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house, ²¹ Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹² Let no man despise your youth; but be you an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. ¹³ Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. ¹⁴ Neglect not the gift that is in you, which was given you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. ¹⁵ Meditate on these things; give yourself wholly to them; that your profiting may appear to all. ¹⁶ Take heed to yourself, and to the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this you shall both save yourself, and them that hear you.

⁶ Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. ⁷ In all things showing yourself a pattern of good works: in doctrine showing soundness, gravity, sincerity,

² Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; ³ Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
