³⁹ And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

¹⁶ But lift you up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the middle of the sea.

²² And the children of Israel went into the middle of the sea on the dry ground: and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.

²⁸ And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them. ²⁹ But the children of Israel walked on dry land in the middle of the sea; and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.

¹¹ And said, Till now shall you come, but no further: and here shall your proud waves be stayed?

¹⁰ The LORD sits on the flood; yes, the LORD sits King for ever.

⁷ Which stills the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.

⁹ You rule the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, you still them.

³ The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves. ⁴ The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yes, than the mighty waves of the sea.

⁷ At your rebuke they fled; at the voice of your thunder they hurried away. ⁸ They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys to the place which you have founded for them. ⁹ You have set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

²⁹ He makes the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

⁸ Fire, and hail; snow, and vapors; stormy wind fulfilling his word:

²⁹ When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

²² Fear you not me? said the LORD: will you not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

³¹ For the LORD will not cast off for ever:

⁴ He rebukes the sea, and makes it dry, and dries up all the rivers: Bashan languishes, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languishes.

²⁵ When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying to him, You dumb and deaf spirit, I charge you, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
