⁶¹ But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said to him, Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

⁷ I will declare the decree: the LORD has said to me, You are my Son; this day have I begotten you.

¹ I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me. ² I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.

⁹ I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because you did it.

¹² Blessed are you, O LORD: teach me your statutes.

⁶ For to us a child is born, to us a son is given: and the government shall be on his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. ⁷ Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, on the throne of David, and on his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from now on even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

⁷ He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he opens not his mouth.

¹⁷ And see a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

²⁹ And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with you, Jesus, you Son of God? are you come here to torment us before the time?

³ And said to him, Are you he that should come, or do we look for another? ⁴ Jesus answered and said to them, Go and show John again those things which you do hear and see: ⁵ The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

¹⁶ And Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

⁶³ But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said to him, I adjure you by the living God, that you tell us whether you be the Christ, the Son of God. ⁶⁴ Jesus said to him, You have said: nevertheless I say to you, Hereafter shall you see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

¹² And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. ¹³ Then said Pilate to him, Hear you not how many things they witness against you? ¹⁴ And he answered him to never a word; so that the governor marveled greatly.

² And Pilate asked him, Are you the King of the Jews? And he answering said to them, You say it.

⁴ And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answer you nothing? behold how many things they witness against you. ⁵ But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marveled.

⁶⁷ Are you the Christ? tell us. And he said to them, If I tell you, you will not believe: ⁶⁸ And if I also ask you, you will not answer me, nor let me go. ⁶⁹ Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God. ⁷⁰ Then said they all, Are you then the Son of God? And he said to them, You say that I am. ⁷¹ And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.

³⁴ And I saw, and bore record that this is the Son of God.

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered and said to him, Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel. ⁵⁰ Jesus answered and said to him, Because I said to you, I saw you under the fig tree, believe you? you shall see greater things than these. ⁵¹ And he said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, Hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of man.

¹⁸ Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. ¹⁹ Then answered Jesus and said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father do: for what things soever he does, these also does the Son likewise. ²⁰ For the Father loves the Son, and shows him all things that himself does: and he will show him greater works than these, that you may marvel. ²¹ For as the Father raises up the dead, and vivifies them; even so the Son vivifies whom he will. ²² For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment to the Son: ²³ That all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honors not the Son honors not the Father which has sent him. ²⁴ Truly, truly, I say to you, He that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death to life. ²⁵ Truly, truly, I say to you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

²⁴ Then came the Jews round about him, and said to him, How long do you make us to doubt? If you be the Christ, tell us plainly.

³⁰ I and my Father are one. ³¹ Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

³⁶ Say you of him, whom the Father has sanctified, and sent into the world, You blaspheme; because I said, I am the Son of God?

³⁷ Pilate therefore said to him, Are you a king then? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears my voice.

⁷ The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

⁹ And went again into the judgment hall, and said to Jesus, From where are you? But Jesus gave him no answer.

³² The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

¹¹ According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

¹⁵ Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

²³ Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judges righteously:
