¹ And having risen from there, he comes into the borders of Judea through the other side of the Jordan. And multitudes come together to him again, and, as he has practiced, he taught them again.

⁹ And further, because the Preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge. Yea, he pondered, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.

³³ And they have turned the back to me, and not the face. And though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.

²³ And Jesus went around all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

¹ And it came to pass when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee and came into the regions of Judea beyond the Jordan. ² And many multitudes followed him and he healed them there. ³ And Pharisees came to him, trying him, and saying to him, Is it permitted for a man to divorce his wife for every cause? ⁴ And having answered, he said to them, Have ye not read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female, ⁵ and said, For this reason a man will leave his father and mother behind, and will be bonded with his wife, and the two will be in one flesh? ⁶ So that they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, no man shall separate. ⁷ They say to him, Why then did Moses command to give a writing of divorcement, and to divorce her? ⁸ He says to them, For your hard heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it did not happen this way. ⁹ And I say to you, that whoever may divorce his wife, not for fornication, and will marry another, commits adultery. And he who married her who has been divorced commits adultery. ¹⁰ His disciples say to him, If the case of the man with his wife is this way, it is not advantageous to marry. ¹¹ But he said to them, Not all men can accommodate this saying, but to whom it has been given. ¹² For there are eunuchs who were born this way from their mother's belly, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs because of the kingdom of the heavens. He who is able to receive it, let him receive it.

¹³ And he went forth again by the sea, and all the multitude resorted to him, and he taught them.

² And he taught them many things in parables, and said to them in his teaching,

⁶ And he marveled because of their unbelief. And he went around the villages teaching.

³⁴ And Jesus having come out, he saw a great multitude. And he felt compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things.

⁴⁰ And he departed again beyond the Jordan into the place where John was first immersing, and he stayed there.

⁷ Later after this he says to the disciples, Let us go into Judea again.

²⁰ Jesus answered him, I spoke in public to the world. I always taught in a synagogue, and in the temple where the Jews always gather together, and I spoke nothing in secret.
