46 But some of them went to the Pharisees, and told them what Jesus had done.
47 Then the chief priests therefore and the Pharisees gathered a council together, and said, What do we? This man doth such miracles.
48 And if we let him this alone, all men will believe on him; and the Romans will come and take away our place and nation.
49 But one of the, Caiphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
50 Nor consider that it is expedient for you, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
