Proverbs 11

VIN(i) 1 A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight. 2 When pride comes, then comes shame, but with humility comes wisdom. 3 The integrity of the upright guideth them; but the cunning of the treacherous destroyeth them. 4 Wealth cannot profit on the day of wrath; but righteousness deliver from death. 5 The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way, but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness. 6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them, but the unfaithful will be trapped by evil desires. 7 When a wicked man dies, hope perishes, and expectation of power comes to nothing. 8 The righteous person is delivered from trouble; it comes upon the wicked instead. 9 With his mouth the godless man destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the righteous be delivered 10 When the righteous prosper, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting. 11 Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted; but through the mouth of the wicked it is pulled down. 12 He who is void of wisdom despises his neighbor, but a man of understanding holds his peace. 13 Whoever spreads gossip betrays secrets, but the trustworthy person keeps a confidence. 14 Without guidance the people fall, but safety is in a great counselor. 15 He who is surety for a stranger shall be ruined; and he who hates suretyship is safe. 16 A gracious woman attains honor, but ruthless men attain wealth. 17 A gracious man benefits himself, but the cruel person damages himself. 18 A wicked man earns deceitful wages, but he who sows righteousness [has] a sure reward. 19 To acquire righteousness leads to life, Yet he who pursues evil goes to his death." 20 The LORD abhorreth a fained heart; but he hath pleasure in them that are undefiled. 21 Be sure of this: the wicked will not go unpunished, but the descendants of the righteous will go free. 22 Like a gold ring in a pig's snout, is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion. 23 ¶ The desire of the righteous is only good, but the hope of the wicked is wrath. 24 There is one who scatters yet increases more; but a withholder of just due comes only to poverty. 25 The liberal person will prosper. He who waters will be watered. 26 People curse someone who withholds grain, but blessing will be on the head of him who sells it. 27 He who early seeks good, seeks pleasure; and he who seeks evil, it approaches him. 28 He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish as the green leaf. 29 Whoever troubles his household will inherit the wind, and the fool will be a servant to the wise. 30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that wins souls is wise. 31 If the righteous be recompensed upon earth, how much more then the ungodly and the sinner?
