We ask and encourage you in the Lord to do so even more. ² For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus. ³ For it is God’s will that you should be dedicated to Him, [that is], you should avoid sexual immorality. ⁴ that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, ⁵ not in the passion of lust like the heathen, who do not know God; ⁶ that no one trespass and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such behavior, as, indeed, we have already told you and warned you. ⁷ For God did not call us to be impure, but to be holy.
