15 and to one gave five talents and to another two, and to another one; to every one according to his respective ability, and straightway set out on his journey.
16 Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made five other talents;
17 and in like manner he who had received the two gained also other two;
18 but he who received the one went and digged a hole in the ground and hid his master's money:
19 and after a long time the master of these servants cometh and reckoneth with them:
20 whereupon he who had received the five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Sir, thou deliveredst to me five talents, here are besides them five other talents, which I have gained:
21 and his master said to him; "Well done, good and faithful servant, thou hast been faithful in a small trust, I will give thee a much greater; enter into the joy of thy master:"
22 then he who had received the two talents came and said, Sir, thou deliveredst to me two talents, here are, besides them, two other talents, which I have gained:
23 his master said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant, thou hast been faithful in a small trust, I will give thee a much greater, enter thou into the joy of thy master:
24 then he, who had received the one talent, came and said, Sir, I knew that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou didst not scatter; so,
25 being afraid, I went and hid thy talent in the earth. Here it is. Thou hast what is thine own.
26 Thereupon his master said to him in reply, Malignant and slothful servant! Thou knowest that I reap where I did not sow, and gather where I did not scatter!
27 Thou shouldst therefore have lodged my money with the bankers, that at my return I might have received mine own with interest.
28 Take therefore the talent from him; and give it to him who hath the ten talents.
29 For to every one who improveth more shall be given, and he shall abound; but from him who improveth not, even what he hath shall be taken away:
