Behold I send you forth like sheep in the midst of wolves; be ye therefore wise as the serpents and harmless as the doves.
And be upon your guard against these men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues;
and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and the nations.
But when they deliver you up, be not anxious how or what you shall speak: for what you are to speak will be suggested to you at the very instant.
For it is not you who speak, but the spirit of your father that speaketh in you.
Now brother will deliver up brother to death; and a father, a son; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.
And you will be hated by all men on the account of my name. But he who persevereth to the end shall be saved.
Now when they persecute you in one city, flee to another. For, verily I say to you, before you shall have gone through all the cities of Israel, the son of man will come.
