24 Upon this she went out and said to her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the baptist.
25 So coming in immediately with all haste to the king, she made her request, saying, I desire thee to give me forthwith, in a basin, the head of John the baptist.
26 Though the king was much grieved, yet from a regard to his oaths, and his guests, he would not refuse her.
27 So the king immediately despatched a sentinel with orders to bring the head of the baptist. And he went and beheaded him in the prison,
