Thomson⁽ⁱ⁾ ³ "A voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord; make the roads for him straight," ⁴ John came baptizing in the wilderness, and proclaiming a baptism of reformation, for a remission of sins. ⁵ And all the country of Judea and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, went out to him, and were all baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.
