Hebrews 12:15-17

Thomson(i) 15 watching diligently that none fall short of the favour of God"that no root of bitterness spring up and occasion trouble, and many be defiled by it 16 that there be no fornicator, nor profane person like Esau, who for a single meal sold his birth right; 17 for you know that afterwards when he wished to inherit the blessing, he was rejected; for he found no way to change his father's mind, though he earnestly sought it with tears.
